      Not unusual, my Zuma calls for 10w30 in both. Gear oil just cools and lubricates the gears but as the CVT does not get nowhere near as hot as the engine one can run a much wider range of oils.

      Not sure what you mean, if you want to change it every time you change the engine oil you can do that. If you want to use the same oil for both, I’d recommend you use the recommended specifications.

    • @nemanjatosovic

      Yamaha suggests every 12000 miles but your first should be done after the first 600-1000 miles and then every 12000.
      Just make sure you use high quality oil.

      Just the gear and engine Oil. Get proper oil and it’s just a simple task as shown in this video.
      I haven’t done an oil change video as there are other out there but that’s all you need.
      You can check your filters but they are rated for 20,000 km.
      During your 2nd year you can change your brake fluid and during 3 or 4th your coolant.
      Belt and filters can last at least 20,000. But you can still check them.

      @@silentinvestor so, in your engine you use 10w-40 raring should be SG or higher and in your transmission you can use 10w-30 SI or higher... don’t forget the oil filter for you engine, also make sure it’s 4T or 4 cycle motorcycle oil.
      I’d recommend you use full synthetic in your transmission and in your engine you can use either full synthetic or just basic oil. If you change it regularly regular oil is fine.
      Your transmission takes about 200mm and your engine between 1.5 and 1.6 L.

    Pozdrav Nemanja, pretpostavljam da si nas pa me mrzi da pisem na engleskom. Da li varijanta 10w40 moze da se koristi? Meni u manualu za xmax 400 ne pise koje gear oil mogu koristiti vec samo 10w40 ili sae 10w30...

    • @nemanjatosovic
      @nemanjatosovic  2 года назад +3

      Možeš bilo koji od ta dva, najlakše ti je koristiti isto ulje i za motor i za transmisiju. 10w-40 ti je možda najlakše naći, znam da yamaha sama proizvodi Yamube 10w-40 u sintetičkoj i mineralnoj varijanti. Samo vidi da ima oznaku MA ili MA2 i rejting SE ili noviji mada sve je novije od SE jer se ono čini mi se više ni ne proizvodi.

      I’m sure you’d be okay running 10w-40 that you use in your engine but Yamaha recommends 10w-30 and they are easy to find so it’s best to stick with what they recommend.
