Thank you Tony, but you didn’t see all the takes for the Peter Green song. Poor Steve had to put up with some very poor versions from me 😅

Fleetwood Mac everytime. How do you make a major key lick sound so miserably bluesy? Ask Peter Green.
My favourite intro has to be Muddy Waters and Mannish Boy. Not really an intro cus it hits the main riff from the get go. But i distinctly remember listening to that opening few bars (very simples Steve) and was instantly in love with blues....
and for another (and I don't care what the blues snobs think) Status Quo and Down Down. It ain't simple neither does it sound complicated, but it sets up marvellously the rest of the 12 bar fest 😉
Keep up the good work guys.

So true! I’ll have to take another listen to Muddy Waters’ stuff.

Can't say I've heard that Fleetwood song before, going to have a listen to some more of their stuff!

Fleetwood have been through so many line ups, his story is interesting to say the least… thanks for the comment and watching Shaun 👍

Listen to the various attempts at Need Your Love So Bad on the Complete Blue Horizons Sessions to understand that Peter Green truly played by feel and if it wasn't 100% he would have another try. Intro is brilliant but so is the outro on the long version. The strings were added afterwards to make it commercial - not the band's idea.

Yep he was a pretty special player. The ultimate in feel in my book. Some great moments where he’s mixing Major and minor in the solos too.

Could you do the rest of Need your love so bad and maybe some Gary Moore… still got the blues?

      I’ll give Steve’s arm a twist for you 🙂

Hard to top those 2 intros, but maybe Five Long Years by Freddy King or Spoonful by Howlin Wolf/ Hubert Sumlin? Probably not quite in that league though.

Two great suggestions there Kev, and by two of my favourite players 👍

@@TheBluesBox I did have two other more obscure intros, Full-time Lover- The Fabulous Thunderbirds/Jimmie. Vaughan and What in the World- Rory Gallagher on Live in Europe, both probably influenced by BB King
