Sokolov seems to bring out aspects of and details in the piano score that many other pianists either overlook or just don't see. His technique is stunning and musicianship is at the highest level.
Extraordinary pianist, wonderful. His version of Petrushka is very good, but I place it after Pollini's interpretation, which for me is, for the moment, unsurpassed.

Hands down the best interpretation of Petrushka!
No shit.
Nope.
I recommend Pollini.. he also does an excellent job by staying true to the score

Absolutely outstanding recording!
Greatest. Love this super solid one.
The best interpretation I ever heard of this marvelous composition!
What an extraordinary artist he is.
That shy little voice at 10:25-10:41
You can hear his nails 😍
Do you like that ???
superb!!!!!
the piano falls in love with his fingers
뛰어난 피아니스트 소콜로프의 피아노 소리가 충격적이고 매우 크게 마음을 울리네요.....
13:25 RIP my left hand trying to replicate that speed.
Make sure you play those LH chords as individual chords and NOT as a glissando or you might break a finger or two. I'm not joking!
@@j.vonhogen9650 Seems like it's either my wrist or my fingers that will end up broken, that's painful to even listen to.
Stupendous

As close to human creative and technical perfection as I’ve heard, especially after having listened to another live rendition by Pogorelich.

I’m personally not a huge fan of Petrushka because it often becomes too heavy handed to be orchestral. This is just gorgeous though!
