  • When the revolutionary power of AI is fully applied to the medical field, will it present a real threat to the existence of human medical professionals? With the ability to already analyze images, diagnose diseases, and even develop treatment plans, AI's capabilities are just beginning to be understood. Should doctors and healthcare professionals start worrying about their job security? Are physician assistants and nurse practitioners more susceptible to being replaced? Or will physicians be more vulnerable? Join us as we dive into these questions and get exclusive insights into the future of AI in medicine. Don't miss out on this game-changing discussion!

Do you agree with my prediction? What do YOU think the future of medicine looks like for clinicians?

I think nurses will be the last to go - hands on bedside skills are much harder to replace than intelligent decision making

I agree. Perhaps one day robots will have the ability to do hands-on skills like nurses do, but I think that is a long way off!

Machine learning expert say LLMs (software AI) will have a ripple effect on robotics because smart AI appears to have tool manipulation emerge from the intelligence.. Nurses and surgeons maybe the last to go but they will go nonetheless!

@@Learna_Hydralis It's going to be wild watching this all unfold! I feel you are probably right.

I am a PA also and I very much agree with you that doctors hopefully will be the last Medical professionalS to be disrupted by AI

Yes, PAs and NP‘s definitely have their place, but the education that MDs receive needs to be respected!

I think if AI was the initial encounter for a patient, the first level for “implementation” of the AI-generated treatment plan would be a PA or an NP. If the initial treatment plan failed or a more complex treatment was required then MDs would be the next level as consultants. I don’t think anyone would get replaced.

I agree, we will not be replaced, at least not anytime soon, but I do think that with increasing use of AI, the number of provider jobs will not continue to grow in the future as they have been. I believe there will be fewer providers overall in the future. Of course, this is all speculation, so we will just have to sit back and see what happens!
