    I love Mazie’s spirit and her creativity is inspiring. During covid while in Jamaica I got into jam making. Using otaheite apples and ginger. My cousin made a mango variety.

      How cool is that. Maizie made some otaheite jam a few months ago. It didn’t last long. ❤️😂❤️ She also made some guava jam at the same time. When you make things yourself you know what’s in it. Maizie love trying new things and I’m a willing Guinea Pig. 👀👍

    Never heard of sauerkraut before.
    We pickle onions and beet and other stuff. Will try that and it's so simple

    Awesome, nice and simple. Always better to make it yourself rather than buying it.

    Have you guys ever put hot pepper in it? It’s really good if you like spicy. Also, we make a cabbage relish called chow chow. I imagine it would be good with stew peas. As we eat it with soup beans.

    I think she is beautiful too. Good to know about the kind of salt to use,they say sauerkraut is good for cleaning the liver.

      Sauerkraut is so simple to make this natural way too. Today I decided I wanted to eat a snack, but I didn’t want to get a dish dirty so I put some kraut in my coffee mug and ate it out of that. ☕️Fortunately I remembered to rinse it before I had another cup of coffee. 😂

    How many days should it stay to ferment before putting it on the fridge?

    • @RedButtonJournal
      @RedButtonJournal  8 месяцев назад +1

      It stops bubbling after about 3 days, then it is time to refrigerate. It is quick in Jamaica because it’s a hot country. Good luck! ❤️❤️

    Does it go bad if out 4 or 5 days before refrigerated and does it stink

    • @RedButtonJournal
      @RedButtonJournal  5 месяцев назад

      Madge only leaves her’s out for 2 days, but 4 or 5 is okay. It will be stronger and softer by leaving it longer. We go for a 3.7 pH which is still crunchy. You can age to your own preference. Good luck and blessings.

    Apples aren’t meant to be to be refrigerated!

      What kind of foolishness is that? I prefer them when they are chilled. They’re more refreshing to me that way. But I’ll eat them fresh too.

      She does wear it out sometimes when we go to town, but prefers it platted up when working around the house. I love it either way, because she’s my Maizie either way. ☺️❤️
