I lived in Cumberland and McKee did nothing but ruin it by tearing down a safe spot for many kids that used to skateboard, bmx, play soccer and basketball, making that land right in front of Cumberland Town Hall into a “Charter School” and continued to just usher in all these charter schools without seeking the communities opinion. “SHADY MCKEE” is who he really is. Rhode Islanders need to wake up because it’s not about the party, it’s the person we see thru our own lens. #LGA & y’all that don’t know, LET’S GO ASHLEY!!!

I'm a moderate Democrat, but Ashley Kalus as Governor wouldn't be a bad thing; it wouldn't be all bad as the legislature will still be Democratic, so a moderate, reasonable, middle-of-the-road Republican Governor to counter that wouldn't be a bad thing (Massachusetts, Maryland, Vermont are PERFECT examples of that). Permanent 1 party rule is unhealthy.
Was never keen on Gov. Dan McKee, prefered Gina Raimondo but she's serving in the Biden administration now!!

-raises for top earners? How about making our state more competitive, not just state positions.
I think Kalaus's proposal for accessory units is plausible, however this will likely require zoning modifications I'm some cases. I would like to know which type of accessory units are feasible (basements, garages etc) and how owners would be incentivized.
I will vote for Kalaus she's the better Candidate, but the state economy, inflation, and education are issues I would like tackled immediately.

Definitely voting for Ashley, Rhode island has always been a strong state but everything is going to hell now. Don't believe me? look at the facts. People lied but numbers don't. I was a Democrat myself but The democrats are sending everything downhill. People look how all prices are going up and they are going to keep going up unless we start making changes. Ask yourself who's to blame for everything that's happening, who has been in power for years?. Look at the prices of a home, I just can't afford things anymore. We need to start changing things now before things get worse. God helps us all.

Yeah they are fixing roads alright...about 100ft at a time...the pot hole coverings are so sloppy I just love the tar kicking up on my tire walls. Failed policies of the past. She is right..Massachusetts is doing much better. I know someone who lives there and is throwing silly things at me all the time. However, he has to dump his own trash off...screw that! She has experience in a better environment. And I trust her more than I trust McKee who obviously IS being investigated. Smart, articulate woman.
that's 250 units average per the 39 cities and towns. The current units target has been unpopular in tourists cities and towns, what's she going to do different from the current units goal the previous governor did set with the state gov...

McKee saying that all teachers are vaccinated is highly misleading when there are paid teacher's assistants in classrooms who are NOT vaccinated. Do your homework. Do not believe everything that comes out of these people's mouths.
In Rhode Island a Governor under FBI investagation might even gain him a few points

"right to quality education should be a constitutional right" so you love this state and used it's resources, but the public education is not good enough for your kids? Would you give R. Island children private school quality education as well?

Private schools are paid for, public schools are free. You ask if she’ll give all RI children private educations. Does that even make sense? The fact she sends her kids to private school says a lot about public schools. She said children should not be trapped in a failing school and that may mean for some choosing a private school and for others utilizing school choice in the public school system. Not everybody goes to private schools. She and her husband worked had to get where they are, earned their degrees and built their business through much hard work and commitment. So their kids get to go to private school. That’s life. No sense being envious of that. But the bottom line is she is for school choice. Choice results in competition and ensures schools will need to be stepping up their game.
@@krisrodrigues1 no envy here, my point is, if you are running for a public office, which is civic, vs private citizens sending their kids to private schools... Don't knock public schools down, make them better, and better... Most educators in the private school systems went to public schools too! Quality education is different from fancy uniforms and fancy meals and extra homework time for hard working high earning, high tax paying private parents . That's their privilege (however you define privilege for those people). Aside from that, those who's best options are public education, needs to be a good and improving one. That's the point. I don't even have children and I advocate for it

McKee proposed cabinet salary increases by 43% while telling the private sector to go fuck themselves by continuing lockdowns which closed businesses and schools, contributed to the inflation and supply chain issues seen across the country, and ruined peoples social lives, especially kids. He pushed for vax mandates resulting in firings/staffing shortages as well as being involved in an FBI investigation with his ILO group contract. People like you are the reason why Rhode Island has been a shit state for decades.
Takeaways from this debate:
1. The commentators were just as combative as the candidates.
2. Kalus sure could sling mud when it came to the supposed FBI investigation concerning the governor. But, when came to allegations on how she handled her clinic, it was a different story like it usually is w/the GOP.
3. Kalus wouldn't answer the kids in private school question.
4. McKee answered the question about President Biden and has been one of the few to openly defend him. When it came to Kalus and Trump, no answer again. I'll take it as a yes, you'll support him in 2024.
5. She said all of his policies are failed policies. It seems like his infrastructure plan is doing well. So, more lies there.
Conclusion: McKee might not be perfect, but he's fundamentally a decent guy. Kalus is a more polished version of Oz and Vance.
Mckee is trash bud, we're last or close to it in the country in almost everything. Democrats created the problems this state has, why the hell would i trust them to fix anything.
