    I can totally relate Lina. I think a lot of people have varying passions that aren’t related to each other but need to be simultaneously pursued in order for the individual to feel fulfilled and happy. These words by Abraham Maslow come to mind;
    "A writer must write, a painter must paint, a musician must make music, an athlete must train, a scientist must do research, and a chef must cook. If they are to be ultimately at peace with themselves, they must do what they are meant to do."
    So if an individual identifies as multiple things, like in your case and mine, then all must be done. Sure we can hack away and keep pushing in one direction while suppressing our other passions, but it’s not sustainable. Great video Lina, and congrats on YC. I sent you a request on LinkedIn, hope to connect soon. Cheers. 🌸

    Fresh air! Good to see a real down-to-earth founder with a lot of mistakes and hopes. Not everything planned, not crushing it all the time, but a real person ready to learn a lot in the process. Congrats on getting accepted! Hope you have the best time in YC; I'll be happy to learn from your process. I'm doing the YC Startup School, nowhere near what you've accomplished. But learning. Thanks for showing yourself with transparency. I've already subscribed to see that hell of a ride you embarked.

    Not sure how this got into my feed but the algorithm is doing its thing. You sound honest and authentic, and I can relate to what you are saying so Im really interested. Would love to know more about the early stages, what happens before you join a program like YC?

      haha nice! Glad to hear you liked the video. It's a good idea to talk about the YC interview and application process at some point. tl;dr - There's an online application with lots of questions about you and your startup. Then, if they invite you for an interview, it's a 10min interview over zoom with 2 YC Partners. They let you know within 48 hours if you're in and you have to make a yes/no decision pretty quickly as well.

    "Speed is not the same thing as moving in the right direction". I completely agree with this and I guess this is what most Startups don't understand. Thanks for sharing very deep insights into your life and good luck with the new venture!

    Hi Lina and congratulations on making it into YC 2024! I am incredibly impressed by your education and professional accomplishments. I definitely agree that having interests outside of work is essential, I enjoy bicycling, going for walks, and until recently, taking care of my dog who unfortunately crossed the rainbow bridge last month. I am a mining engineer with a Master's degree looking to transition into data analysis, data visualization, and AI. I look forward to hearing more about YC from the "insider's perspective", and very curious to hear about the growth of your company and the entire AI space.

      That's awesome that you're planning to transition into the data / AI side of things. I may be biased, but it's an amazing space that is rapidly growing and also super transferable across fields. So sorry to hear about your dog. That must be really tough. Thanks for watching and I'll do my best to share more of the YC experience on this channel

    Thanks for sharing your founder journey so far! Keeping up with friends is hard especially bc life working on a startup is so much different than a big tech job, and many things about startups are so counter intuitive to technical people, making it harder relate. I also feel bad for falling off the face of the planet from some of my friends and prev coworkers, and its always good to catch up with people to see what's going on. Congratz on YC btw!

    • @KevinEvolves

      For your future videos, I'd love to learn more about the counter intuitive realities of serving customers and any unexpected or surprising experiences. If anything startup journey should be filled with them, and whether or not they pay off with $$$, I think they're fun to hear about.

    • @Lina_Colucci
      @Lina_Colucci  8 месяцев назад

      @@KevinEvolves Thank you so much for the kind words, Kevin! 100% agree that running a startup is different than big tech jobs (and pretty much any other job). Sounds like you're on the startup journey as well - wishing you all the best!
      I'll make sure to talk about any of the counter-intuitive lessons I learn as they come up. That's a good prompt 👍
