I like that the simulated battle scratches aren't overdone and the detail in the small pieces like the fingers and also to hinge each finger segment is very tough to do. Mad props!
WARNING! I've had this for a couple of years in a normal living room and all the rubber pieces are breaking already, I really hope that they release a repair kit with better quality material, cause even some of the plastic that was connected with rubber is falling off the figure.
Ive read about this problem . How is the condition of your figure these days ? Any idea if this was fixed on later releases or on the Tychusmodel as it came later ? Really sad it hapened.
Am a huge Starcraft fan and Jim Raynor has been like a role model for me. I almost named my first born after him but the wife disagreed. I spent years hunting this in the Philippines but when I finally found one, the price was too much for me. Guess I would have to settle in watching this video over and over again 😔
That sixth scale model has gorgeous detail. Ive been starcraft since i was a kid and Jim Raynor was always my favorite terrain. I love the show and keep doinf what your doing.
This looks so amazing. As someone who has the Academy Marines from way back, I would love if they release one of these unpainted so I could match it with my smaller and older Jimmy.
as a diehard Starcraft fan, I wanted to buy this figure so bad that I saved enough money for it but held back due to product value and durability and build quality concerns. I wouldn't mind shelling out over $500 over these as long as the quality and standard lives up to it, but the disturbing reviews from owners gave me an about face for purchasing this product. from the looks of it, the figure could be aesthetically amazing but build-wise and according to a number of owners, the mold used for this is of "bootleg" quality which breaks easily. now I'm not that willing to waste $500 for a piece of cheap construct and having buyers remorse later on. I'd rather buy that cheap $30 and lesser aethetic quality NECA Raynor figure over this if it's going to save me from a lot of headache in the future. it's too bad really and hope someone better would build it. I guess this is why this sideshow starcraft Raynor figure and Findlay figure are no longer available and got pulled from production (discontinued).
It's true, the plastic feels cheap. Aesthetically it looks great but when you hold it, the cheapness and fragile feel of it is immediately noticeable. Why can't the fucking Chinese just not be such low ball scammers FFS.
@@l2xsniper1 Buy any chance , are his rubber tubes rotting ? I saw many claims that the first batches have some cheap rubber that is literally self melting/breaking/ rotting .
What do you think of the quality of the figure? I have seen another review where the guy was blown away by the detail but he thought that the figure itself felt cheap and that the articulation in the joints was so lose that it was hard to keep the figure posed and or even standing up.
Norm, hope you insure your collection! These are so rad. I really enjoy the Show & Tells, despite being about 3 decades out of an age when that was a regular thing at school. :)
I never thought about it till now, but where do Jeff Bridge's arms go in that Iron Monger suit? There's no way they fit in the suit's arms... does he fold them up T-rex style?
LAZ-D studios Yeah, but the mech suits in Avatar are big enough that there's room in the canopy for the pilot to move his arms. Look at the Iron Monger. His arms must be folded up against his chest, and don't get me started on his legs. Looks like they split at his navel in opposite directions.
Hi I recognise this is not a recent review but can you let me know if this figures articulation is loose and he's unable to hold his rifle . plus I have concerns about the stability of the figure ........?
Such a Beautiful Firgure, the attention to detail really shows the passion behind creating such an intricate piece of artwork. Great job on the review as always Norm and good luck to whomever wins. I'm definitely putting my name into the hat for this one.
Nearly bought the Tychus Findlay Limited Edition Prerelease Statue back in 2007. I think they were like $250 though. I loved SC, but that was just too much for me. Would have been a good investment though, they're worth more than $1000 now.
Plus, we're giving one away in a random drawing! Lord Victor Halgaard: Now you just need an actual Space Marine 6th scale model, or even a regular one - you know from the Warhammer 40k universe that Blizzard copy/pasted to make Starcraft :P
Wow this is amazing... It's incredibly with all those details. This is really one of the best six scale figures I ever saw. I wish I had one of those :-)
Love it, but you would think from a marketing stand point they would have made a Kerrigan one to run with the HotS expansion and would now be working on a Zeratul for the upcoming expansion. Got to take advantage of all the hype, it when people are most likely to part with their money.
"This 16-inch tall Jim Raynor figure is incredible!" No Doubt! It truly is an exceptional piece of modeling. The detail is awesome. Would love for Blizzard to do more Starcraft models to this level of detail. Some of the Protoss would be treat. Thanks for sharing Norm!
Hermann Kateri I noticed that. And it's the one issue I do have with it. It is still one of the more well done figures I've seen recently. With the exception of some Hot Toys figures.
Looks pretty damn amazing, And yea people do question Blizzard sometimes but they are still hands down the king of the gaming empire next to Nintendo They made MMO's, RTS, RPG's back in the day they made Metal Racing and Vikings, and now they made a freaking card game and a team based shooter Make a remake of Rock and Roll Racing and they are pretty much the jack of all trades
Ever since i signed up for this competition my inbox has been littered with spam. Sure it goes straight to the trash-folder and I can't be sure that its because of this competition but the timing was kinda spot on.
I'm a huge fan of Starcaft and anything Blizzard creates, these models I would love to shelf in my office, but I would never be able to convince myself into paying $500+ for a toy.
same here man. i have guns. and that figure is 50 bucks less than my pistol. so i always look at it that way. save up money for a figure or something that could save my life or my family some day.
Really wished that Hot Toys got the license from Blizzard instead of Sideshow. I am a bit afraid of the quality of the materials which are used in making this beautiful figure.
I saw another review where the guy doing the reviewing the figure said the detail was amazing. However the articulated joints were so lose that the figure was hard to pose or even keep it standing. For $500 that would be extremely disappointing.
Anyone else have ridiculously low volume or is it just on my end? Can't hear a thing until I quadruple my listening volume and system notifications are deafening.
Now you just need an actual Space Marine 6th scale model, or even a regular one - you know from the Warhammer 40k universe that Blizzard copy/pasted to make Starcraft :P
Lord Victor Halgaard Blizzard actually wanted to make a Warhammer 40k game at first. But Games workshop didn't want to so Blizzard created their own races heavily inspired by: Space marines, Tyranids and the Eldar.
Necrotix Dawn to be fair Dawn of War turned out to be a better RTS representation of 40k scale imo. I've never been a fan of RTS where single units were made and collated into a herd, pathing knightmare...
I am a 6 foot tall (ex) Marine - and with a 3 day growth of beard, Raynor looks like me! It would be nice to have a mini me (sorry, cheep pun) around to annoy the wife and neighbors.
Sweet figure. I am more a lego guy but this figure is amazing. I never knew there's stuff like this. In addendum I don't think you would actually ship them to Germany, right? Greetings to adam ans the rest of you. Keep it on guys.
I like that the simulated battle scratches aren't overdone and the detail in the small pieces like the fingers and also to hinge each finger segment is very tough to do. Mad props!
Thanks for such a glowing review! I spent more than 2 years of my life making sure that this project was perfect. Glad you dig it!
He looks fantastic, great job!
+Klim Kozinevich I love love love it! Jim Raynor is my favorite hero from SC and Kerrigan, I love the amazingness that exudes from that figure
WARNING! I've had this for a couple of years in a normal living room and all the rubber pieces are breaking already, I really hope that they release a repair kit with better quality material, cause even some of the plastic that was connected with rubber is falling off the figure.

Correct, rubber materials turn to dust already.
That's just insane detail on that level the writing on the shoulder is perfect
I love raynor, great character from the Starcraft series, end of starcraf 2 xpac was epic.
It's also just astonishing on how much detail of the power suit made its way all the way from SC1's concept art.
amazing detail. love the "leather" holster for his sidearm.
the sound is broken for me on this video :(
i just checked with another one, and it works fine there
That skin tone is so good! As a builder and painter of minis I can appreciate that level of detail.
Where can one find those space shuttle posters shown in the background?
What do you think of the quality of the figure? I have seen another review where the guy was blown away by the detail but he thought that the figure itself felt cheap and that the articulation in the joints was so lose that it was hard to keep the figure posed and or even standing up.

I never thought about it till now, but where do Jeff Bridge's arms go in that Iron Monger suit? There's no way they fit in the suit's arms... does he fold them up T-rex style?
its like in avatar, the mech suits in that. in one of the comics it was like that.
Strand his arms i rekon could fit. but i totally agree about the legs
Jim Raynor must be able to dislocate his pelvis to fit in the suit.
Maybe he has a little gamepad to control the suit, held up right under his chin. :p
You should start showing off all the accessories from now on. That's my favorite part of Hot Toys figured, the sweet/plentiful accessories.
Hi I recognise this is not a recent review but can you let me know if this figures articulation is loose and he's unable to hold his rifle . plus I have concerns about the stability of the figure ........?
It looks awsome. But there are alot of detail shots in the video, however i miss a slow turn around with entire figure captured.
Norm that looks amazing, totally would look good on a shelf in a computer room
This is so cool! I would love to get my hands on something like that to put animatronics into.
I never really played StarCraft, but I am a huge fan of the cinematics. This figure just escaped my screen :-) Wonderful.
Amazing figure! Does this model come in pieces? It would be great to see the assembling it from ship box!
Such a Beautiful Firgure, the attention to detail really shows the passion behind creating such an intricate piece of artwork. Great job on the review as always Norm and good luck to whomever wins. I'm definitely putting my name into the hat for this one.
I just got one of these as well, I don't know if I should open it or not. It's worth more if you keep it in the box right?
What I really want is a 1/6 scale Space Marine. Raynor is neat and all, but nothing beats the Adeptus Astartes.
Anyone know how to fix the rubber tubes that are rotting on this figure? Mine are shot! Norm, help!

Hey Norm; your alias wouldn't happen to be the "HD Starcraft" be any chance?
Wow this is amazing... It's incredibly with all those details. This is really one of the best six scale figures I ever saw. I wish I had one of those :-)
This figure looks amazing! Love the detail of everything!
Love it, but you would think from a marketing stand point they would have made a Kerrigan one to run with the HotS expansion and would now be working on a Zeratul for the upcoming expansion. Got to take advantage of all the hype, it when people are most likely to part with their money.
Amazing... how much it cost????
I'm from the UK do you know of any good places to get figures like that or would u be best ordering from American companies
Games workshop....
Forbidden planet! They do a lot of sixth scale stuff
"This 16-inch tall Jim Raynor figure is incredible!"
No Doubt! It truly is an exceptional piece of modeling. The detail is awesome. Would love for Blizzard to do more Starcraft models to this level of detail. Some of the Protoss would be treat.
Thanks for sharing Norm!
The model is impressive . My only issue is that no human legs could spread that way inside a suit.
Hermann Kateri I noticed that. And it's the one issue I do have with it. It is still one of the more well done figures I've seen recently. With the exception of some Hot Toys figures.
Looks pretty damn amazing, And yea people do question Blizzard sometimes but they are still hands down the king of the gaming empire next to Nintendo

Oh man. As a huge Starcraft fan, do want. I entered a contest for one of these a while ago but didn't win ;(
I really do want that figurine. How much do they go for on the market??
$500.
Norm...at what level (league) do you play sc2 ???
How much does it cost?
Wow !! Look so real
Well made i really want one!!
Sweet, not 100% convinced on scale ratio but that could just be from the upload perspectives.
Ever since i signed up for this competition my inbox has been littered with spam.
Sure it goes straight to the trash-folder and I can't be sure that its because of this competition but the timing was kinda spot on.
no doubt about it it's a beautiful piece of art😊
Great review, Norm. Didn't know you were a member of Freaks. :) Very nice. This piece looks fantastic.
if someone makes a 1/6 40k space marine reynor would look like that stormtrooper
I'm a huge fan of Starcaft and anything Blizzard creates, these models I would love to shelf in my office, but I would never be able to convince myself into paying $500+ for a toy.
think of it as a piece of art like statue
same here man. i have guns. and that figure is 50 bucks less than my pistol. so i always look at it that way. save up money for a figure or something that could save my life or my family some day.
That's a terrific model dudebro
Wow! That looks totally badass. Take my money.
The skin paint is awesome. I would waist so much time posing this figure into cool action shots.
I want to have your child, StarCraft Raynor Sixth Scale Figure!
Wow! That's amazing! Love the gun and holster! :P
if you look rly close you can see that the Torso is a Model of a Cats head ,peace
That just blows me away! I want it, i want it so bad.
Looks fantastic ,cheers for the share.
Jim Raynor must be able to dislocate his pelvis to fit in the suit.
Please make a Jim Raynor suit =D for one of your sneaky comic-con outings.
Well well, Its about damn time
looks like raynor will have an arm problem that rivals even that of abaddon's
ive been watching and waiting for this figure since i heard they were making one , even if i dont win, one day i plan on getting one
Norm wears the Get Up Kids hoodie!
That looks epic and ready to kick some ass!
I saw the same review, really wished Hot Toys would have gotten the license :(
Awesome!!! I can't wait to get one!!
Beautiful piece!
The hair looks like it's almost floating above his head :O Other than that it looks great!
If I had 300$ to spend, what would be the best sideshow figures
Really great sculpt and paint! - cc
Anyone else have ridiculously low volume or is it just on my end? Can't hear a thing until I quadruple my listening volume and system notifications are deafening.
I saw this on thinkgeek and was amazed. Thanks for the vid
awesome fig nicely done well worth the wait :)
Now you just need an actual Space Marine 6th scale model, or even a regular one - you know from the Warhammer 40k universe that Blizzard copy/pasted to make Starcraft :P
For the Emperor!

Necrotix Dawn oh wow having a strategy warhammer game by blizzard game would be amazing
Necrotix Dawn to be fair Dawn of War turned out to be a better RTS representation of 40k scale imo. I've never been a fan of RTS where single units were made and collated into a herd, pathing knightmare...
EC Even if Blizzard would have made a Warhammer 40k game I'm pretty sure the team who made Dawn of War would still have made their game as well.
Wow, I have a Tychus Findlay figure I love to have that one:)
The Get Up Kids! Great band from R.I. if memory serves me right.
It looks amazing!
Jingles also posted a video of this today.
That looks freakin awesome
I was scared to know the price of this beast, now.. I need a hug.
I am a 6 foot tall (ex) Marine - and with a 3 day growth of beard, Raynor looks like me! It would be nice to have a mini me (sorry, cheep pun) around to annoy the wife and neighbors.
WOW!!! that figure looks awesome, hope I win!!!
Sweet figure. I am more a lego guy but this figure is amazing. I never knew there's stuff like this.
In addendum I don't think you would actually ship them to Germany, right? Greetings to adam ans the rest of you. Keep it on guys.
Please do that captain America shield
500 pieces--- $500 1 piece= 1 dollar TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!
Oh my God! I must have this!
Looks great.
I... Must.. Have it!
cool figure!
Awesome figure
I've always wanted to do this... "FIRST!" BTW that's really cool. I'm pretty jealous!
Very cool stuff, I bet you take it to bed with you hahaha
Amazing !!
Fat chance I'll win but I entered to win one of these beautiful figures.
Have he ever made warhammer. If so I want all of them: )
Looks Sweet
Lol that Iron Monger figure Looks kinda creepy. It looks like the giant head of Jeff Bridges in a suit :/
He has wood!
This is amazing!
He said Terran Space Marine... Space Marines are Warhammer... StarCraft they're just called Marines. :P
