- Supergrass Gary Haggarty admitted to five murders, another five attempted murders and more than 200 terror offences during his time as an Ulster Volunteer Force boss and before he became a State Witness in Northern Ireland.
So how do we take the evidence of a career tout and a murderer who denied being a serial killer when he stood to give evidence at a murder trial in Belfast in recent weeks? Can he be both a serious criminal and a truthful witness? Is the case of the tragic murders of catholic workmen Gary Connie and Eamon Fox the last time we will see Haggarty give evidence and is this the last of the Supergrass trials?
Nicola speaks to Belfast Telegraph crime correspondent Allison Morris about the witness, the murder of innocent and about the dark times of the past.
