When I was a little kid, the two things I loved most in life were Godzilla, and NES games. So naturally when Godzilla: Monster of Monsters came out, it was like a dream come true. Well, almost. To sum it up, most of the game revolved around getting through (very repetitive) outer space levels while smashing up tanks and jets, and then fighting against Godzilla's monster enemies. Overall it was pretty mediocre, but back then I didn't care. When I got the game as a present for my tenth birthday, I played it night and day, as much as I could.
I loved it and with a computer you can unlock other Monsters that where left out of Original Rodan, Anguris, as Allys and a Bunch of enemies Monsters love to se it get remastered.
I hadn't heard of this game at all until I saw the creepypasta, but it gave me quite a lot of appreciation for the soundtrack and the spritework. This theme gets me so pumped, and I haven't even played the game yet! Godzilla is so cool
Played the full game, and it's a pretty fun time! It may be a bit tedious to go through the stages, as they start to repeat a lot, but the fights are cool, especially against Gigan, Mecha-Godzilla and King Ghidorah.
@@Mangdup.With all of the ARG stuff post the first story. I’d say they’re in similar footing. Both are great though. And we’re some of the best in their genre, even if it isn’t a high bar to achieve. What with Sonic.exe, Mario, and the countless other low quality gaming creepypastas.
Allright guys I also liked the creepypasta, it's definitely my favorite one, but have you guys actually played the game? It sure as hell isnt perfect but it's genuine fun and very replayable, specially when you're bored. This game is making me a Godzilla fan after 16 years of not giving a shit about the character and I'm now gonna watch 60 years worth of movies.
I really liked the game. Not as tedious as many make it look like, at least to me. The music is great, awesome sprite work, and yeah, while there isn't much stage variety, it's still satisfying to wreck everything as both Godzilla and Mothra (yes, even her), although the fights against each Kaiju obviously steal the show.
I played it in school in my free-time for the first time a few weeks ago, (i used the destroy all monsters cheat that ive heared of so i can fight all the monsters before i have to leave lesson) and when i played it, i loved the game, its not the best obviously but when you enter and you hear this theme and you start, you get so EXCITED :3, ill still keep playin this in school durin my free time (i dont have a laptop or computer at home)
@@zherean42069 Woah I had completely forgotten about this comment. Anyway, for me I liked the game enough to go and play it on actual hardware and I'd say it adds a certain "cool" factor to the experience. However, I understand people won't be sure about going through the work of tracking down a copy of a game whose quality has mostly been recognised by just some guy in the RUclips comments, then I'd say it's also ok to emulate it or play the creepypasta demo. Or just don't play it and watch some videos on it that's always an option lol.
One of my first games on the nes back in the days, remember this song from that time to this day xD One of the best soundtracks in entire 8bit era in my opinion.
I recently got to Planet X on a playthrough and this song is such hype The final fight against all the monsters, and being max level even the games most difficult opponents become trivial. Truly makes you feel like The King (and Queen) of the Monsters
This is the story of an ordinary, possibly average game that was just a game about Godzilla and some other kaijus and that was basically it until the 21st century, where everything about it changed forever...
The (incredibly good) creepypasta aside, this is probably the best looking NES game around with some of the best music. It can get a bit repetitive at times but overall I think its worth playing at least once.
You’ve made it to the last enemy base! It’s time to end this once and for all! All your enemies have returned for one final fight! Gezora! Moguera! Varan! Baragon! Hedorah! Gigan! Mechagodzilla! And Godzilla’s very nemesis himself, King Ghidora (Or Ghidora, whatever)! Planet X, beware, for no monster can stop Godzilla, the Monster of Monsters!
Of the older Godzilla games, I would say this is the best. Not fantastic by any means, but it has most of the kaiju who matter. I enjoy playing as Godzilla, and I can tolerate playing as Mothra for the sake of keeping gameplay diverse and having both characters march through the board... and maybe also because she's my second favorite kaiju (Godzilla obviously is the first). Probably a little confusing why anyone would say Mothra is one of their favorites... well there's kind of a reason for that. Firstly, she was the second kaiju I ever knew anything about, the first again being the King of Monsters himself. Secondly, as far as insects go, moths are my second favorite insect because of how pretty they are. (Giant Silk Moths especially) But oof, that one thing Mothra has in this game, where every other hit slams her to the bottom left of the screen can get pretty annoying, but still nothing I can't deal with in the name of switching characters back and forth.
Not gonna lie I love godzilla and saw the avgn review of this game before the creepypasta and thought it would have been a bad game. If it weren't for the creepypasta I wouldn't have fallen in love with the music because it is chiptune gold and SLAPS I also wanna own this game for my retrobit collection so bad it's such a vibe. Dude this game radiates happy even with its weird quarks obviously why a creepypasta wanted to taint it lol

the fact that THIS GAME out of all the other games managed to produce the one good gaming creepypasta is absurd
Ben drowned is comparable to it from what I heard
In terms of the effort, there is clearly a huge gap between godzilla nes and ben drowned.

This game has one of my most favorite OST's from the 8 bit era :D I love all the tracks

I don't think he realizes
It sounds like a crossover of 8-bit and 16-bit and it's somewhere in the middle.

I liked that it used elements of the classic theme.
Making the big G's story in the game feel more intensified.
I hate how Sanjay and Craig ruined the phrase "Big G" for me.

This Theme Is Better Than The Japanese Theme
I personally agree with you, but the Japanese theme fits Godzilla more.
why was a hoax planet added as one in this game?
Cat Guard cause it's the home planet of the aliens who are usually the antagonists in the Godzilla films.
I remember when there was an end of the world theory that Planet X would hit the Earth
The best theme from this game also this is really good for the nes
I just realized this is Godzilla's main theme
