A Mack cabover. What a great first truck!
Kind of touching to see Peanut leave the house and go to pasture. It’s like sending him to boarding school🥺
Such good Cows and babies. I love those 4 🐮
Great video. God blessing to you all.
Hard working man, ranch is not easy life, I’m a farmer and I understand this guy
Peanut has a bunch of new friends and is happy
Bye Peanut, good luck buddy attitude? you came out and didn't bring cake? oh! you did bring cake!!! Thanks Mike yummy
Good job Mike
Ooh-wee, that's a big truck.
You went empty handed!!! Poor litttle guy!!! At least you brought snacks for everyone!!! LOVE your videos!!! Sending love, health, peace and happiness to all of you♥️♥️♥️🙋‼️
Nice truck! We're happy for you!
God's blessings!
Drove tractors and went from there into trucking Disabled 5 years ago.Self taught semi driver. Loved driving trucks and tractors
Truck runs good
Peanut, "c'mon, Mike, that bottle is empty!" Great video.
I took pin hitch and welded it to a channel plate. Latched to the fifth wheel. Also blocked fifth wheel so no to tilt. Cut d cuts in channel for safety chains. Works like a ball in bed of truck.
Your right!! A flat nosed "tractor" is a semi. The other "tractors" are referred as "rings". ( At least that's what my dad taught me!)
Love the Macks
I love how he talks to the animals lol
Ouch, climbing up & down the side of that rig, brings back memories of, days long gone bye!! You know it's Old School, when you see that Blue Maxi Brake Valve!!! lol Enjoy Mike
I see you're working with a "skeleton" crew. A real "bare bones" operation.
Yuck yuck yuck actually kinda funny
Thanx humorous is one of my favorite bones nickname funny bone it has a short circuit to shit your pants nerve
At 2:41ish is that ACR in the crosshairs of the Mack truck? You know telling ACR that Ranch roundup is next weekend turned out to be an eggcelllant idea lol ROTF (or R in the driveway) lmao
So what’s the count 104+\- videos until the next RR? Probably less as this years was late and next years might be in June. Are tickets on sale yet?
How did the kids do in the lemonade business this year?

I guess im asking randomly but does someone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account??
I somehow forgot my login password. I would love any tricks you can give me
You are working your help to the bone
Good morning. 👍👏 Nice truck.
You are awesome awesome awesome
No bones about it great job
Introducing Peanut to the heard reminds me of when I was a 5th grader moving to a new school and being the new kid in class.
Very uncomfortable daysthose are and kind of nerve racking . First days anywhere around New people , even to this day as an adult I stilk get nervous in that type of situation
Wide open spaces are the best way to learn. Remember the song give me 40 acres and I’ll turn this thing around??. Nice semi
At 10:20 of the vid shows a gap between the trailer and the ramp. Might be a good idea to place a nice strong wooden board to cover it to minimize the chances of injury. Specially for the lil ones like Peanut. Thanks for sharing
Peanut would be the perfect show animal
nice the truck is thinking ...what thats it
To paraphrase Ron White: "i dont know how much truck its going to take, but i know how much im gonna use"
❤️ Peanut!!
Job 1:. OWL decals on the doors. Good luck!
So glad to see him out with his friends. Keep us posted
That large rear window makes a big difference. Try it sometime with a sleeper box back there. Mirrors only.
Oh tip on the mirror. Resonance frequency. When in tight spot where you need it to stop vibrating, note the tachometer reading. When stopped or crawling, drop the clutch a bit and add some throttle to smooth it out. Once you see what’s needed, note the RPM.
Then drop RPM, move a bit, then drop clutch rev up to smooth the mirror and repeat...until it’s fixed.
Same on ice. If tires are spinning, note the tachometer. Note the RPM drop as you add throttle where the tires nudge a bit and spin thus spiking the rpm when they slip past gripping point.
Say idle is 600 rev and spin to say 900 but in passing 750 is hesitated as truck lurched a bit. Like resonance frequency, that is your “traction frequency “ lower throttle back to lurch point. Keep your foot holding at that rpm. The truck will bounce like a bronco but your tires are gripping and slipping. Their heat will melt that spot of ice. It’s a stop and go process.
If you can get a bit of a run going, DO NOT USE the transmission to change direction. Just use the throttle to rock it out. As soon as you are as forward as you can get and release it. It will roll back. At the farthest point rev at traction frequency and go forward. Like rocking a cradle. Saved me from getting many tow bills over the decades. Enjoy the Mack!
Cows like Hogs don't like to go from a well lit area into a dark area and they hate shadows...and with metal corrals they make alot of noise that aggravates and excites them....the can act skittish.
This is great, he is a compassionate rancher. I can't wait to visit Wyoming!
Suggestion rig up on the truck a hookup for the trailer brakes. This is to make sure your hitch is hooked so the trailer dosen't come off. I was a semi truck driver
Sonne Farms calls that flyswatter like devise 'slappy'
@@debt4717 it is fun to watch the father-son farmer interaction in many of the channels. The dads finally get to make fun and jokes
OMGosh I've Always wanted A MACK truck that's so awesome!!!
Great video Mike thanks for all your hard work too.
You are very welcome
Watching peanut as he learns about barbed wire. That is always my first fear is a calf or for that matter a new cow to the farm will be checked out by the resident heard. They kind of run around a bit until they get acquainted better. I am afraid the newbie wont see a fence or just choose to try to nose its way through it. Happens to me in the spring with new calves. We keep them in the barn for a week or two with their mothers after they are born to get stronger and out of the early spring weather, make sure they are nursing, etc. Found it is better if before we let them and their mothers loose to pasture, we let other cows in the barn with them and get acquainted inside so calves don't feel they are being chased by strangers outside. They seem much calmer when released then. Like how peanut had lots of company before you let him loose.
Sweet Pens
this is one of the better days of cattle ranching, it definitely makes up for some of the more somber ones
Greetings from Augsburg/Germany 🐂🐄
Greetings from Stuttgart
@@davidhintz1 Hi 😀
Thanks for sharing. Great vlog.
Did the same thing to my stock trailer back in 2010, one issue is blocking trailer tires or truck will push trailer backwards because of no air brakes, plus added trailer wiring harness to truck because pulling with semi is so much easier than beating pickup truck up... have same truck you do but it’s a Volvo... 10 speed... call it the bread truck... I put a battery shut off on the neg cable. Living in Northern SD never worry about starting on two batteries as little as I use truck. Plus added 3 fans in cab...
Enjoy watching from South Australia
Me too Rhona
Hi I'm from South Australia's Eyre Peninsula.
Victor Harbor
I'm in Seaford
Mod da ma fa ca tion. Interesting word but you said it correctly the second time. Funny. Love your videos by the way.
Thanks for this video. That truck made the trailer look so small!! I did not know the Arrow quip ramp height change feature. That was real nice. Loading looked smooth for everyone, bovine and human. My biggest concern for Peanut was him finding the water okay, and not being bullied/ rejected by the rest of the herd. I think his being with Bambi et al must have helped him- because those cows were familiar w/ Peanut, so eased his transition back into "the wild", LOL I enjoyed being a ghost visitor to RR2020. btw, enjoyed BTR livestream [even w/ moving, buffering, no couch, LOL]. Fencl 'eviction' and all!
Looks like a job getting ln the truck
Love the co pilot 😁
Thank for another great day on the ranch
Peanut is a survivor. So cute.
I'm still not going into work after 6 months. Waking up in the mornings to your videos does let me escape the nightmare that is Newsom's CA.
Sorry your stuck in Ca. We ran away from Brentwood Ca to Las Vegas. A lot of people here are already back to work. But we still have a dumb democratic governor.
Newsom is doing an eggcelent job in Krapramento unfortunately his deeds are affecting my home state California
I wonder how much his CHP detail is costing us I heard his detail are the guys that got the lowest graduation points from the academy and are the most out of shape so they won’t be diving into the weigh of bullets which the carry like Barney Fife
Ditto!
...same here in same state! love this guy and his family...
🤠Having a wee bit of fun here Mike. It looks like scarecrow Slim's older brother worked more than his fingers to the bone on the ol ranch. I'd a figured he earned sitting back like an old armed chair rancher and just collecting dust! 😄😂😀 Kim
Great video...I didn't know that Goliath had passed, I knew he had gastric issues..sorry to hear, he was a cutie!
I missed you for a few days. Glad that Ranch Round Up went well. Hurray for Peanut and his graduation to the Big Cattle Field of Life.
Glad that #RanchRoundup2020 was a big hit. Wasn't thrilled that I had to miss. Hopefully next year I can be there. Definitely do miss the everyday videos but I do understand. God bless to you, your wife and kiddos.
It doesn't get much better than that. You gotta love it. Well done Mike
Thanks for all your videos of ranching life, being from comiefornia and a real city sliker I enjoy what you are sharing with all of us.
I named my first ever pig Bam Bam. I was 5 years old and I loved that damn thing. I woke up every morning at 4, looking forward to feeding him. Boy got real big real fast. Little while later, I had to move off the farm for a while and when I came back, I was greeted with bacon and eggs. After breakfast I asked to go see Bam Bam and my aunt, who’s passed now, looked right at me and said “Ya just saw him”
Glad peanut is doing well! When you said cake I thought you were talking like birthday cake.lol I thought that doesn’t seem like something you should be feeding to cows but what do I know? Lol
Mike's got a Semi *teehee*
Mike, why don't you mark those chains on the chute with a color zip tie (say red) and then put a red zip tie on the handle of the trailer. Then when you have to adjust the chute, red goes with red.
Great idea, thanks!
Good morning to Our Wyoming Life
👍👍. Time for me to come forward and applaud you for your incredible videos of a lifestyle many will never live but would give up a lot to have just a piece of your land to do what you and Erin do. Been watching for a while and often go back to earlier postings and then enjoy your laid back open and honest livestreams where all your fans come together and have the best time just chatting like old friends. This journey of Peanut has captured my heart wondering just how he’d fit in an area he doesn’t know and no friend to help guide him through. You’ve put together and edited an amazing video and have captured my attention eagerly waiting for the next one. Don’t want to go on and on and bore you when you have very little time to read novels in form of a comment. Just letting you know that I’m new and definitely committed to helping you grow as you educate and openly admit you’re still learning as you help to feed others through special programs. Only one thing more.....PLEASE feed that bony partner in the truck and maybe give him a hat and clothes too. Proof that the food programs you sponsor for others really do work for your so called assistant too. BTW.....loved that fencing video a lot. Sure beats riding the lines by horseback all day and sweating bullets and bleeding from cuts from barb wire. Those two guys are my heroes and only wish they had been around a long time back. Waiting for next video and Peanuts journey and more stories of the land you’re so lucky to work on......your place called home. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Will you be looking into a bit bigger trailer, maybe one like you have, just longer and three axels. Or even a smaller semi cattle trailer, a traditional semi trailer, and even a flatbed trailer to move hay with next year, if you even have any to move😂😂
Congrats on the new truck!
Glad Peanut gets to be with his cow family!
Mike's quirky humor passenger bones
Coming room a truck manufacture I'd say you did good on the grease.
From not room
Mike, It still amazes me you assembled all that Arrow Quip equipment by yourself! 😳
I'm sure you probably have done this already but I'll say this anyway . Paint the different links on the ramp where you you need each different height so your not guessing.
Our pasture in western Illinois is green and I’ve been feeding gluten feed since July , I think your grass has a kick to it! Such beautiful country were your at!!
I love those old cabovers, neat find!
What a system!
The Arrowquip looks great!
Safe and easy to use.
Will have to look into it!
Thanks!
Now mike needs to get a bull rack and put chicken lights and chrome on the mack
Totally cool cabover!
Needle in a haystack lol
So glad Blonde cow is still enjoying the ranch, the way things are here I have not been able to donate to her, family still out of work and its family first, sorry Blonde cow hope you understand.
Hey Mike , like we say in our line of work -- " ain't no feeling like cow mobiling"
Good luck Little Peanut👋.
JO JO IN VT 💕😄
Good video. Peanut seems to have fit in quite well so that was cool. Good job.
A *flyswatter* for small-time herding? Whatever works!
Hey Mike. I hope that the Ranch Roundup was a big help to your organization as you'd been hoping.
Peanut is a natural.
He made me think of my first day ever of school. I had no idea of what to expect really...but I could hardly wait to find out.😁
Awesome job getting Peanut reunited with the herd, although I couldn't believe you lied to him with that bottle. But, he'll get over it. LOL. Looks like one of the ghost riders in the sky has joined you in the cab of your monster ranch truck. As always, we enjoy your videos and the brief escape we get from watching.
Great video
that system works so good for you and gentle on the cows
If I can put an 18 ft wide 30 ft long custom made spreader in an 181/2ft wide isle- you can back that thing up
You'll be hauling all those hay bales for winter in that sweet cabover Mack in no time! Love that truck, looks like it was well maintained.
Well done, Mike.
A great result. Hoping it continues. 😄
When backing a trailer, always turn towards the problem. e.g. you see more trailer in the left than the right mirror, and want to go straight back, turn wheel left to straighten.
When you connect, give the trailer a little tug, to make sure it is latched, and it never hurts to also physically look at the fifth wheel and make sure its' latched.
Always remember this one word: GOAL (Get Out And Look).
Driving tip: use your mirrors to watch the trailer when backing or driving forward. Use the rear window to check the trailer when making right turns, being certain to not overrun curbs and/or people. I drove a lot of Mack day cabs, loved their powerful engines.
Hey Mike and Erin, Hello from Hawaii. I've watched about 8 videos, and you got a non-farmer follower out here in the 50th. Good stuff, my friend!
Such a nice video
put a camera to help backing up!!! it work great!!nice truck lots of options that will help.
He looks like a marine lol
Day cab cabovers always look really funky to me.... i want one
