- The Interior of a UK Mk4 1989 Ford Escort Ghia, standard car. Shot in 2011.
Velour interior. Unmarked seats. Radio/cassette has an amplifier too. Electric windows and door mirrors. Tinted windows, security marked. 4 seat belts. All original.
Escort was the top selling car in the UK in it's time.

Thank you! I will do that, now i have been lucky, because i have found a completly original 88 white XR3i hatchback with a mere 50.000kms on it and I will buy it from the original owner. I have seen your xr3 video, fantastic car is in mint condition
used to be thousands early 2000's i probably see them 2 or 3 times a year. i always remember the burble they make from the exhaust
Nice video! I'am from Spain, i have a very rare 1988 cabrio ghia that my father bought new and is in pristine condition and gets a lot of attention anywhere.. The mk4 escorts were fantastic cars... in Spain almost all of the have been scrapped sadly
They were mostly scrapped here too. Look after your one. It is a special car.
I am taking one of my cars to Duxford Airfield car show Aug 5th, so hope to film something more there. They made over 25,000 carb Mk3 XR3s, and now reckon there are only around 62 on the road (some sorned too). A few more inj models but that really is not many. Parts are getting rare.
Well look after it :-) It may be just one of a few.
I currently have two Mk3 XR3s that I am cherishing. This Mk4 I had to sell last year.
That's very true. That scrappage scheme came at just the wrong point in these cars history. Now there are very few Mk3 and Mk4s.
@RionZeBon 32? That's amazing. I have 2 Escort Mk3 XR3s (carb versions) as well, and apparently there is only about 60 of those on the road. One of mine is, one isn't. To think these cars were once so popular. This car is now somewhere in Romford.
Too true. But I tend to get a lot of people come up to me and talk about the car, saying either they had one, or know someone that did.
@WAYNE1977100 I agree. The guy who bought the Mk4 off me last month wanted a car that he could work on the engine easily too. Modern cars need to go back to a dealer who plugs them into a computer that tells him where the fault is. Then he begins the task of getting to the part. I sold this Mk4 on behalf of my dad. But I still have 2 Mk3 XR3s as well as my regular car :-) The XR3s get a lot of looks (see my other vids).

and you have 3 buttons to the left I guess fog front fog back and heated back window
I don't have a fog front light haha
I also have manual mirrors no electric... meh... :( so jealous mate..
@Calvertfilm I remember when there was loads of mk4 Escorts on the road, i think it was that awful scrappage thing that they had a couple of years ago killed most of them. People these days would sooner drive around in a crappie Kia. I have a 1990 Escort Eclipse that i am restoring video of car is on youtube. I would sooner drive around in a classic car then some modern ugly rubbish.
