The struggles are real man. Finding a relationship bc you love someone and finding one bc you need to be in a different situation. People should always choose love but i understand why for some people that isnt possible and why they do that. Its not right though....for that to happen especially when people are forced into it....in my opinion at least. Heck though for someone whose seen mariages that had started out as love break apart ....... I dont know this dudes parents......but they stayed together from what i hear. And its not my place to judge. There has to have been love in there some place for that.

@@sunglsses3367 thanks for sharing with me :) Yeah I get that as well as for some other people i know how that works out and no shame in that. Marriage purely out of romantic love would die out though, hence the high divorce rate right now. Friendship, respect, and the instrumental value of marriage are really important for a long lasting and happy marriage. One thing you can say about his parents is that they both want to escape communist China, which is already a basis for respect between them.
@@csy9366 its hard to say any relationship in reality is based out of purely romantic or a love purely based on friendship so i cant and wouldnt necessarily pinpoint divorce rates on that unless backed up by some more scientific survey of married couples. I agree with you that all components including respect are necessary to a healthy lasting relationship. It is just my opinion based on my observation of people I know who are put into situations leaning less towards romantic and more towards.....contractual or financial that it's difficult for those types of relationships to last. Thats why, as Ive unfortunately seen there are couples who marry as a reason to come to the states and then split up afterwards. As I stated though, for the case of Mr. Yangs parents, there must've been romantic love in there someplace otherwise the relationship wouldn't have been so long lasting. :) which I find to be quite admirable in any event. I do not wish to generalize whatsoever nor do I wish to assume or pry into others lives. Only saying that it's admirable. And that I think in my opinion love...romantic love...must also be a component. Not purely...but definitely a large factor.
I'm not even Latin American, but I took several years of Spanish. My mom does the "order in Spanish" thing every time my family goes to a Mexican restaurant. I can only imagine how much worse it is for a native speake. :/
Protectiveness in very common among Chinese families. Some parents treat their children like porcelain dolls thus not letting them to just, yk, play as they want outside. Because they’re worried they’ll get hurt. I mean, getting a bruise or a cut or whatever is normal in kids! That’s a part of natural childhood development! Even broken bones, I recall many of my primary school classmates would frequently come to class with their arms wrapped in casts or supported by clutches and whatnot. My point is, getting hurt when playing outside is normal and that’s I fact how children learn to coordinate their body. If you restrain your kids and always warning them not to do this that they’ll just grow up clumsily.

I was in the bus with my friend, about to reach my stop, another friend of mine called her and asked have you seen Himashree I heard she's missing. Then she said but Himashree is with me. The next day even the head of the department asked me what has happened. Guess what! Papa even called him😮💨
Just bought the ticket for Jimmy's new show this October in San Francisco, can't wait to be there!
I'm Caucasian. My dad did this and it got to the point where the call center told him to text me or wait until I got home from my job. It was I credibly frustrating.
Wow that's rare to see.
@@naturelover6588 it's because he is a helicopter parent. He hovers over the nest egg.
"Bro, we're at Panda Express!" 🤣💀
I gotta see this guy live!!
Jimmy’s so underrated.
so funny! I can't stop laughing
Loved this dude on Silicon Valley he was great lmao so funny
Really enjoy what Jimmy had brought to the stage~~~
So hilarious~~😂😂😂
2:05 Basically all of America 😂🤣🥹
The “Escape Communist China” line was historically accurate and hilarious.
He's so Dang funny 🤣... I love Jimmy O... 🥰💯👍😆😜
this is so relatable, when people come to my house they're always like
"Hey you're from China? Speak your dialect lol"
I'm standin there like: Bitch I aint used that shit in 20 years what do you want me to do, relearn it?
Just love you!!! Great show!
im digging Jimmy Yang.
He has the most radiant smile!
my dad said the same thing, "Its a good deal". Lmao
I rewatch these bits every time they appear on my feed but it's my first time seeing the Panda Express joke. Funny as hell.
My mom almost traveled across 3 states once to come to my college dorm and check on me because I didn't answer her calls for a day since my phone's battery was empty.
Like I get that's how _she_ shows love but Goddamn that's borderline obsessive.
It's the asian mom things. I just go out for the evening, and I don't pick up my phone while driving, when I reach my destination my phone will be bombed with miss calls and msg asking if I'm okay, mind you not just from my mom, even from my friends, cause she called them up to check on me.
It took so many years for her to finally understand I'm not dead just because I don't pick up my phone for a few hours.
@@petraleong I'm an Arab, it's more universal than you think.
@@THExRISER good to know we are all in this together
@@petraleong it’s not strictly an Asian mother thing. It’s just a mother thing in general
It's a mum thing (and yeah, I AM relating as a white British.) When you have kids of your own, it'll make more sense. 😊
You are BRILLIANT❣️ Thrilled for your success!!! ♥️❤️♥️
Super relatable, honestly one of my parents are Chinese and they are exactly like that
Order in Chinese!🤣🤣🤣🤣 for sure I been there too🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣next time I charge money like Zoo, it's a special trick!😂😂
I know how that feels. I’ve been here 41 yrs and been adopted from Korea. I have people come up to me and start a conversation and then ask “ Where are you from?” I say “Korea” and this gets me all the time. “Are you from North or South?” I’m like seriously? Thinking to myself “I wouldn’t be here if I was from North Korea”. Thinking “duh”. 😂🤣 Gets me all the time. 😂😂
People do manage to escape from North Korea from time to time, so it's not like that's impossible lol
More stand ups please !!! It’s been long
I am an Indian mother I will also keep on calling my son once in two hrs. He will not get annoyed. He knows we love him and care him so much.
So freakin funny.
That "Okey bye" is hilarious and so real
My mom literally does this, I was woken up by the police yelling up my steps are you okay your mom called said you aren’t picking up the phone I’m like my phone was on silent while I slept a few hours on the weekend 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I'm black & I love Asian folks
I want to hear his dad say “that’s not love, that’s a good deal” in front of his wife and tv
Be greatful that you have a father that loves you and wants to talk to you every 3 hours.
Why is this not on Netflix 🤣🤣
I’m literally dying of laughing 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️
Talented, adorable! I could watch him all day! ❤️
It is truly relatable
You just walk in easier to get into Mexico than Costco hahahaha
Thank you for this. Laughed out loud the whole video! What I needed for the rest of the day.
My mom would totally do the same thing lol
"It's not love, it's a good deal." Lmao
We Asians don't say "I love you" to family, but we show love like this😂😂😂
"911 what's your emergency?"
"My son is a dead!"
Yeah i relate hard with this segment as a child of two asian immigrants who literally only married eachother bc they both wanted to be parents and their bio clocks were ticking. They only knew eachother for 6 months before my mom got pregnant with my older brother
@@sunglsses3367 thanks for sharing with me :) Yeah I get that as well as for some other people i know how that works out and no shame in that. Important thing is that you my friend are here bc of that annnd we each and all of us try and have control over how our own happiness will go from here to the greatest extent we can.
My parents were married a long time I think there was some kind of love between them but they did have ups and downs
"You guys are from here? From here? HI!!!"
I almost died lmfao
I'm not even Latin American, but I took several years of Spanish. My mom does the "order in Spanish" thing every time my family goes to a Mexican restaurant. I can only imagine how much worse it is for a native speake. :/
Every Hispanic person I have ever spoken to or ordered from in my busted ass midwestern Spanish has been ecstatic, wtf?
I am not sure how I feel about all this because when I go to Brazilian restaurants I automatically switch to Portuguese.
2:35 consuela came outta family guy!?😂
It's so funny ppl think it's a joke but he just be spittin facts bout asian parents lol
This guy is hilariously
