This collaboration with BABYMETAL will become a very exciting opportunity for both artists transcending generations."
Tom Morello comment:
_"I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I’ve been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of METALI!! I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!"_
The song title is METALI!! which is a fusion of two words metal + matsuri (matsuri is a Japanese festival) and you can hear it in the spoken section when MomoMetal is doing the Kabuki moves style.
Just so you know "wasshoi" is another shout used in Japanese festivals when men are carrying the shrine, similar to sore and soya in Megitsune and Karate. The traditional Japanese instrument you can hear in the beginning is a shamizen or koto, also used in Megitsune.
The masks you're spotting is used at traditional Japanese festivals in certain regions but apparently becomes more popular because of Demon Slayer anime series.
You're not wrong about SuMetal rapping she does it in a couple of songs even in the very first one Doki Doki Morning and more recently with RATATATA but the song with more clear rap style, besides PA PA YA!, is BxMxC from Metal Galaxy 2019 album, you can enjoy an official live version they recently released in the official channel.
I can totally see why they pick Tom Morello on this, the groove, the catchiness, the super energetic jump and those typical 90's vibes at funk or alternative metal live concerts.
This one is definitely a banger when performing live in every setlist they played at recent World Tour 2023/2024 and they finally met along with Tom recently at Download Festival last month during the Europe Tour.
