I really respect the fact that you do step out of your comfort zone and try a ton of new concepts and techniques, while still being true to your own cool style.
Like someone else said, I don't really appreciate the use of autism as an insult. That aside though, you do make a lot of good points. I definitely struggle pushing myself out of my comfort zone, due to fear of the work not being "good enough" for the standards I've put on myself. But it won't get any better if I'm afraid to fail so, certainly a good idea to expand past what is comfortable.
Not sure how or why the youtube algorithm chose to show me this now, but I think it is a message I needed to see. I've been drawing too much of the same thing, all just stuff I know I'm already pretty decent at, and honestly, I think it's made me so bored of the process that I've been drawing less and less. Thanks for the wake-up call.
My favorite way to try and push myself out of a rut is to take on a specific challenge. One time, I looked up horror prompts, when I had never drawn horror art before. Sometimes, I’ll have friends of family give me things to draw, like fusions of characters I’ve never drawn before. When I take these challenges, I’m already so far away from what I usually make that I feel really free to try using new techniques and brushes, and when I go back to OC content, I always feel like I’ve learned something or grown from the challenge
See I tried doing inktober last year and couldn't complete it cause the word list really sucked. I might try again this year if I'm not too busy with other projects.
@@Reed_The_Deer I took a random inktober-esque prompt list, used a spinner to pick which one, and didn’t limit myself to exactly one per day, and that was the magic ticket for me. Plus, I did it with friends, and we would do grand reveals at the end of each, and that little extra bit of gamification really helped too
I fully expect this channel to be completely unrecognizable by this time next week. I look forward to your video on airplane maintenance and frog vlogs.
* loud sounds of Victor drawings being stuffed into a drawer * Me: Guys I swear Im building the rest of the world/characters for my idea and not just drawing Victor!
like some other commenters have said, please dont use autism as an insult. i like your channel, but i am autistic myself and its disappointing when people use things like that as an insult or dig at other people.
@@Reed_The_Deer i didnt know that, im sorry. i do think it can come off as a bit weird to hear without knowing that extra bit of context which is why i commented.
@@Bleplebeian completely understandable. It's a little difficult to showcase how many contributors help make these scripts what they are. As it stands I try to avoid anything coming off as offensive cause that ain't my speed. I like to keep things light hearted and jovial. If anything I think my deadpan delivery probably doesn't help.

Look man it's just a joke. I ran it by my autistic friends and they all thought it was funny. It's not belittling in any way imo.
