@@godzandheros but is it going to be the same formulas as Jackie Aina's?? Like she has pointed out, yes we've seen these colors before but not as pigmented.
@@sleepbaby17 are you referring to other abh palettes being the same formula or other brands' palettes in general? the abh shadows would be the same quality/formula i would hope and as for other brands, you can find almost all the same shades in natasha's lila palette as you can in jackie's palette and the formula is better + you get more product sooo 🤷♀️

It's such a gorgeous palette, I think its ludicrous that people are mad that a woman of colour created a palette that will work for people of colour...did they want her to not be able to use her own palette?!! 🤔🤔

I can’t believe, well I can actually, that non POC are complaining that something isn’t for them. Literally every single other palette by ABH is for lighter skins. I don’t follow Jackie but a huge congratulations to her and those who have a palette for just them. Sponsored is a beautiful color!!

Mariyah Ali while I get you point, I understand why she didn’t do a red them most woc already have red theme eyeshadow palette. Either from Mac or Too Faced or some other brand where they don’t use half of the other colors. So this is unique.
@Mariyah Ali the pigment being deeper means that people who couldn't use abh shadows now can. You're missing the point of the collab.
I can't see why white chicks can't love this palette. I love the colour story of it. It looks more appealing than the last few ABH palettes imo. I think it's fabulous that something has finally and specifically made for POC 💞👌
@Mariyah Ali ABH palettes are over $100 AUD and I have all of them. This is different to any other ABH palette.
One thing about Jackie, that girl knows her stuff as far as undertones and shades that work with w.o.c. I’m impressed with this palette.

I bought my palette from the ABHwebsite the first day it was available. I watched Jackie’s video and then as soon as I could buy it I bought it. I am Caucasian, have lots of shadows in similar colors to those in the pallet, but I wanted to support her and what she’s doing to make the beauty community more inclusive. It’s my birthday month! I used a coupon on the website for 15% off. I’ve done three different looks with the pallet so far, and I like it very much. The only thing that I needed to add was a slightly lighter transition color to work with the pinker and the ginger colors. I have plenty of those, and when I added one of them into my look today it was very satisfying. I’m not a person who thinks that a palette has to be a standalone to be valuable and worthwhile, none of my other palettes are, in that I always pull shadows in from different places to create a look. I’m so happy to be able to support more inclusively in the beauty industry with my dwollars

Sooooo, I don't like Jackie. I tried but we just don't vibe. With that said, I AM buying this collab to support her as well as what this means. ABH is huge and this collab should be celebrated as such. Surprisingly, my non POC friend who is pretty progressive said she wasn't getting it because the palette was meant to pop on POC and won't pop the same way on her. I was taken aback. I was like what?! I later sent her a post of the shades swatched on a white person.... they all popped pretty damn fine to me... If anything everything will work on light skin and those with darker skin have to work uber hard to have anything show up on their skin. As per usual, I saved this vid so when I get ABH x Jackie Aina I can recreate these looks! Thank you!
I appreciate your honesty, and the fact that you’re still buying the collab is bomb. Thank you for sharing! And that is strange your friend would make that assumption. If anything, they would look ultra rich on lighter skin tones. If anything, she might need to dip out in order to blend them out.
it's hard for me to even objectively decide if this is a good palette for me because your eyes are so insanely beautiful and you're so talented that every look turned out stunning. No brainer. Absolutely getting to support a woman of color influencer particularly Jackie who has been a fearless advocate for dark and deeper beauties. It’s ironic because although African American myself I am a woman so fair I am a Mac no20 or a light medium in most foundations, so she is not my skin twin but such an inspiration. Let’s support her.
What’s hilarious is that literally every other eye shadow palette in existence has at least two or three colors (and usually more) that don’t work on brown and deeper skin tones. Now she comes out with A SINGLE palette that’s perfect for people that look like her, a palette that they can get all their money’s worth out of, and people want to get mad and call her racist. Imma need them to sit all the way down. Rant over! I love these looks!!!! I was waiting for you to review it, as I’m buying mine on the 15th. I second the request for a beginner friendly tutorial. Also, do you have suggestions on eyeshadow for people with glasses? Contacts and I don’t get along.😢

I'm loving this palette, and loving that it is pigmented enough for women of color and will work well on all skin tones. The color "Sponsored" -- omg! I'll buy the palette just for that one! At $45, it's quite a good deal considering the breadth of all the colors.

Thank you for reviewing this in a neutral fashion; yes, I agree that this palette seems a collage of past ABH palettes, but this one is the first in the ABH line that I am seriously considering getting because of its intensity and that top rooooooowwwww. It's everything. All the purple/pink shades are my story and I think this will suit my skin tone - I hope. As a Hispanic woman, I really struggle with finding foundation, shadows, lipsticks, etc. that will match/work for me, since I'm not fair and I'm not deep... Things end up looking peach, pink, flat out orange on my skin... It's... Urgh! Frustrating! I'm really thinking about this one. It's gorgeous, and I really don't want to be disappointed - again.

For a lot of reasons I’m not much of a fan of Aina or honestly most bigger influencers, but I won’t discourage anyone from getting the palette and enjoying it. People are indeed selectively forgiving or attentive, and the para social bond they have with influencers clouds their judgement. People wanna be on teams or whatever, not interested. I admit though- It looks good. And frankly I’m glad to see any influencer collab or launch that isn’t a bust because I know so many people are buying it to try to support that person, and they deserve not to be exploited. This looks like a good one even if you’re fair, if you just dip out into a light contour or face powder to help blend if you needed it. But even if this way like, my hero putting out a palette- it just isn’t a palette I’d buy. So I also can’t pretend that’s not part of my disinterest in personally owning it. I’d be more of a Sultry palette person, so it isn’t even my ballpark necessarily. It looks like it’s going to work great on people who especially don’t always get to experience shades. The shades that came out scattered if they aren’t wet don’t even sound like a bad thing to me, I use a loose highlight and looser eyeshadows I have as a scattered wash over some of my looks intentionally, like I set up my look to do that rather than trying to use it as an afterthought.

I appreciate how excited you get when you swipe on a metallic shadow and get immediate glistening payoff without even wetting your brush!! Beauddiction did a great job comparing the shades in this palette to the similar shades in other ABH palettes. Definitely more pigmented than the similar colors.
I’m beige AF, but looooove saturated colors, as my wardrobe will attest. This palette is on my list. I’m an HSP and can’t handle Jackie’s level of emotion without my system overloading, but looking at history and how much push our society takes to make any kind of change, I think we need people like her out there being the farther swing of the pendulum.
The pink and more red colors together (before the purples on the lid) reminded me of plumeria and the colored middle of white hibiscus petals. (Must. Go. To. Hawaii.)
PS. I think that was your ring finger, not your pinkie. My second glass of wine and I seriously got the giggles at that.

Yes!!! I'm so glad to see your tutorial on this, I always know you bring the most stunning looks. I also appreciate that you gave a fair warning/critique on how ABH shadows perform - I've never gotten one of their palettes so IMO this is extremely helpful to know. I think all has been said about this "controversy" for the time being, so all I have to say is that I'm happy for Jackie & I'm glad that ABH is recognizing that not all palettes will work for all skintones. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing for a company to acknowledge that, and I'd like to see more companies be versatile in the future.

I definitely love it! I ordered the palette in the box with the bag...😆 that’s a big ol’ male up bag. The palette is very lovely though. I like to go in with an extra light hand with any of the mattes, I think they look beautiful like that and then put some metallic on the lid..same on the lower lash line. But I really love these mattes and pigments.

Beautiful looks! The palette has such a diverse selection of colors that many looos can be created (your three looks are totally different from the look Jackie created on herself). I think collabs should reflect some aspect of the collaborator's personality and I think this one does. It's fun watching how everyone is playing with this palette! 😘

I bought her palette and am going out just so I can be extra. I can not wait. And I don’t give a shit about all that other drama I’m supporting my POC she hasn’t said or done anything in general that has hurt or damaged an entire group of people so I’m a continue to be a fan

If I would buy makeup solely on packaging, I would buy this. There's something about pressed pigments in ABH palettes that make my eyes burn. But there's a few shades that if I could buy in singles I would totally get...mostly soleil.

OMG Alicia! You can sell me ocean front property in Oklahoma. This has been the first ABH palette I have REALLY wanted to buy from the start. I was a fan of JA. But just kind of stopped watching about the time of her big bday bash. I wish her all the success in the world. Alicia, Thanks so much for this video! This palette and the eye looks you created are gorgeous; I've watched a few other people demonstrate this palette. But, your video has been the most helpful and thorough. Some of these shadows are a little reminiscent of Pat McGrath's shadows (just not as intense), at least that's what I see through the video. I am definitely going to purchase this palette. I don't think it really compares to any of the other ABH palettes and I would like to have this in my collection. I know I won't get as much use out of it as some other shadows I have (it's bold for every day for me), but I think it's perfect for special occasions and times that I want to try something a little different and the price point is very good. I love ABH eyeshadows. I have 5 ABH palettes. This one is pretty but not different enough from my other palettes. I continue to watch reviews and will check out in store before my final decision. I wasn’t going to buy the Sultry palette until I saw it in store. I have no issue with the palette being geared towards people of color. The shadows look great on you.

Yayyyyy! So glad you’re reviewing it. I bought it. Mine will arrive tomorrow. So excited! Edges, wiggalese, sponsored , and credit look so pretty. Yes some of those are the more basic colors but I love the rich tones. Cool tones do not look good on me, or maybe I just don’t like to look at them on my face. That third eye look is my favorite. You really did this palette justice with all of those different looks. I just want to say that I am surprised that you have been experiencing negative comments. But it seems that happens in the RUclips space no matter who you are. I see so many positive comments about you and your work, and, as you know, I’m a fan. As a human being I think those criticisms get to us to the point that they loom large and can overshadow the positive. So blocking the jerks and haters is a good plan. As a huge Jackie Aina fan, and after viewing countless hours of reviews and tuts, I ordered the palette from ABH site. It is no longer available in any stores in my area. So they weren't playing when labeling it Limited Edition. Now that I have it, should've bought two. This palette has everything. Kinkysweat this vid and your beginner friendly version are priceless.

I did purchase the palette to support Jackie and the colors were tempting. I received it Monday, it's beautiful and the colors are true to what she showed in her announcement video. I think as with all new palettes and new makeup there is a learning curve to finding how it best works for you. Thanks, I enjoyed the video.
