I have the 2006, bought in 2005 on the first truckload into my county. 7 yrs. later, 125,000 mi. and it's still driving strong and fast. Not one thing has gone wrong with this car since I have owned it!
3/16/18. I bought new in 2007. Base manual transmission. Gray/Black. Miles 67K. I have had zero issues. Period. Going on 11 years already. Time stops for no one. 👍
Would you recommend one as a first car? I'll be driving (hopefully one of these) in a few years and I'm trying to get as much advice about one of these as I can.
@@ThePrototypeClutch Good to hear. I've been keeping my eye out for 2009 and up GT's with manuals, but they're supposedly really rare. So if I can't find one, I'll get a 06-08. I just prefer the facelift and the dual exhaust. Thanks for the advice.
RacerRyan 86 yea the only thing I wish my v6 had was a dual exhaust it just adds a way better look and performance. But I wish best of luck and hope you can find a good deal.
might be getting one of these in a couple days. so freakin' excited. glad to hear that they beefed up the suspension for a "sporty-er" feel. that's what i always liked about my celica.
@IncRaven it has a bit of room for upgrades, because you could get aftermarket exhaust for it, and possibly a supercharger/turbocharger (not too sure if it will fit) and you could most definately throw a chip in it and/or get a tuner. all in all, you could get an extra 100hp if you tried. I found a GT that put out 335hp, so it is possible.
Had a 3rd gen. Have a 4th gen. I literally don't give a shit what anyone has to say, I definitely think the 2007 model is better. No doubt. Everyone who hates on it has either never owned one from its date of sale and bought a shitty used one, or is nostalgic about the 3rd gen. Be objective, don't be stupid. (By the way, that "girl" car out performed my RX8, BMW 330i, and my Mustang, which are considered "manly")
Having owned a 2g 1999 and a 3g spyder 2003, I prefer my current 4g 2008. Next would be the 2g, then the 3g. Also currently own a 2015 Lancer but I prefer my 4g Eclipse.
I love my 2007 GT, if you are thinking about getting one .. do it! You'll think yourself for it later, and for the "Tuners" The GT has no room for upgrades, so get use to the idea of a 263HP beast.
There are used car lots, you'll be paying top dollar for them, but at least you can get a warranty and financing. When it comes to buying from a private seller just be careful with any weird noises, smoke, lack of acceleration, rust, the list goes on and on. It's also a good idea to buy an OBD2 scanner and always drive it on the highway before purchase, bad cars can behave very differently at high speeds. And also make sure everything is legal by checking the VIN and making sure the title is under the owner's name. It is possible to get something good at a low price but indeed, there are many unscrupulous scammers out there.
the engine is very reliable with alot of power , just make sure the timing belt and water pump was done less than 60k miles and regular maintence like oil. I have an 06 with over 100k and runs strong. My guess the timing belt and water pump wasnt done since it hasnt reached 60k mark yet, and it can be around a 700 dollar job. there is a engine tick that comes on cold starts in the morning if u dont mind the noise, but its nothing nor a problem, but noisy lifters that can usally be fixed with seafoam.
@zlee415 If you can afford the parts and maintenance for the Audi, then I'd go with that. This car is a great alternative to the TT, especially if you want back seats and a lower cost of ownership.
I have a 2006 gt with almost 110k miles, no problems, just keep up with regular maintence , and timing belt / water pump a must for all used cars. The engine has a reputation to be very reliable being that its a huge heavy iron block. Slap a injen CAI intake and youll be surprised too
Fabian Velasquez Such an underrated car until people get smoked by it. Eclipses just get on it I can't even explain it. It's legend is growing as time goes on. More people respect it I'm finding.
The Eclipse is the best looking car in its class but I hope they have REAR WHEEL DRIVE in the next model ! ! ! ! ! ! And a little more agressive body styling.
@ReFueL78 I know exactly what you are saying. I have a 4g eclipse, and I prefer my 2007 model over the newer ones that got a facelift. You like yours very much, that's the sole reason you bought it in first place. I love my car so much, I don't even need a girlfriend =)
aint nothin like 2g gsx awd turbo. dsm power baby. sadly mitsu engineers have been puttin more effort on evo these days. i mean hell. the newer generations of eclipses get overshadowed by their older ones. 265 hp from a 3.8 liter v6 where it used to be 210 hp from a 2.0 liter. only 55 hp increased from 1.8 liter?
ain't nothing like 2g gsx awd turbo. dsm power baby. sadly mitsu engineers puts more effort on the evo these days. i mean hell the newer generations get overshadowed by the older ones. 265 hp from a 3.8 liter v6. really??
the only thing that sucks about this great car is that it is being built in states... any can when built in US ends up being a piece of shit cause they get cheep on everything....
wtf, no where in this video have you mention the basic hp/torque and 0-60 mph time on the car. seriously, if you're not gonna put effort into this video then go find a better job. you're not worth being hired
Shitty car, looks okay but damn really? only 265 from a 3.8 V6? Yeah the Evo is the only real respectable car mitsubishi has in its current lineup. Mitsubishi should have at the very least considered dropping the ralliart engine to replace the 2.4 engine.

RacerRyan 86 I currently have a 2006 v6 172k miles never had an issue with the car, that says a lot.

@@ThePrototypeClutch Thanks, man. I appreciate it.
I have an 06 eclipse GT in blue. 98k & I LOVE IT!!
I'm getting a used version of this car this week!
It looks AWESOME!
Great✊😂
Looking at buying a 06 gt for $3.5k with 135k miles on it, any advice/problem things to look for would be awesome
I love my 4G. (Kind of want to buy an AWD 2G later on, just to keep it company) lol
How's it holding up? Thinking about buying a 4g. Thanks. Also, my dream car is also a 2g eclipse gsx (awd) lol. But that'll have to wait.
@@Mudsquadofficial oddly enough, it’s pretty damn solid. Interior is typical Mitsubishi quality but powertrain and electronics are good.
Ok. Thanks for the info 🤝🏻
The spot will also air on national cable networks including VH1 and Comedy Central.
The only thing I disliked about this car was the blind spots. It also was a gas guzzler. Still a sporty and cool car.
might be getting one of these in a couple days. so freakin' excited. glad to hear that they beefed up the suspension for a "sporty-er" feel. that's what i always liked about my celica.
nice.. cant wait till this new version gets a little older i will be able afford one

i have had mine when was new and no miles on it this is my second eclipse and i love it too bad there will not be a 5th gen eclipse
Hi, yes I'm 8 years late, but there is a 5th gen eclips... but it's a crossover
I help anytime hi I’m from the future

Lol, nobody is nostalgic about the 3rd gens
Your friend probably has a stock GS. The GT model can go 0-60 in about 5.8 seconds, which is faster than both of the vehicles you listed.
Having owned a 2g 1999 and a 3g spyder 2003, I prefer my current 4g 2008. Next would be the 2g, then the 3g. Also currently own a 2015 Lancer but I prefer my 4g Eclipse.
+Stinky Farts stock it's less body roll and a harsher ride. But my 4g is on lowered with strut bracing and handles like its on rails now.
@astronautjenny the audi TT does have back seats
I love my 2007 GT, if you are thinking about getting one .. do it! You'll think yourself for it later, and for the "Tuners" The GT has no room for upgrades, so get use to the idea of a 263HP beast.
thats good hope u continue to enjoy it
yea but 2g's had the worst reliability, but yea your right overall the 97-99 gst and gsx were the best eclipses in the lineup
I just bought my 2008, I LOVE IT !!
After 9 years, how it was? Is it still with you
I am about to buy a 2006 silver GT with only 57K miles on it for $6500 for my kid. Is it too late to buy a 06 eclipse?
Decent car, pretty fun to drive, but $6500 is way too much for this car.
Thanks for the input. I doubt we are going to buy it. So many scammers out there selling , it is scary buying used!

Im about to trade in my 06 Eclipse =( bought it brand new and only put 41,000 miles on it. I'm gonna miss it so fucking much.
+JeMaRi I will love mine a little extra for you.

I bought my first Eclipse this year & I love it! It's the 06 GT in orange. Paid $10k- had 112k miles on it.
SUPER- I VERY LOVE 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse
4g all day
The Eclipse is the best looking car in its class but I hope they have REAR WHEEL DRIVE in the next model ! ! ! ! ! ! And a little more agressive body styling.
if anyone is reading this and actually owns one of these, can you tell me if i can actually fit people in the back?
I want this car so badly!

@HolyH2 turn on the radio or something so you dont listen to every sound the car makes
Eclipse 3g and 4g failed. I hope Mitsubishi brings the eclipse back with a new redesign and a performance version of the car.
@JxT1957 it only cost 20,000
firm suspension lol, mine rides like a train with my coilovers =)
What is this review NOT telling us?
I want one this year 2020.
Then get one, they’re not worth much.
thank you

@Misiekgren Can we really say that? I mean the car has fallen from being a great company even in its home town.
THe thread is about a Nissan 350Z
the only thing that sucks about this great car is that it is being built in states... any can when built in US ends up being a piece of shit cause they get cheep on everything....
i know :P but the 2009 one is AWESOME !!!
I am told you will be buying a new suspension in 2 years on those
Japanese cars always last longer, American muscle cars are good when new but over time need work
mine too, got with 112k on it 06 GT grey
Can I do the nasty in the car is it enough room?
@dontdoitnow no its just you
162 hp from a 2.4 4 cylinder is so bad. Honda k20 makes 197hp
The first gen Eclipse has a 2.0L and made 205hp and the second gen had 215hp and were AWD or FWD, how it the heck is this any improvement over that?
its american just has a japanese name : (
my 99 eclipse looks way better
Looks are subjective.
I prefer my 3G. Wouldn't mind a 2g also haha
3G all day!
pretty bad gas mileage considering the performance
dsm's were the only good eclipses...fuck the 3 and 4g
Why did you even come to a video about a 4G Eclipse if you hate the car some much? That's immature and petty.
damn me t00
is it me or is it better to watch this on mute
wtf, no where in this video have you mention the basic hp/torque and 0-60 mph time on the car. seriously, if you're not gonna put effort into this video then go find a better job. you're not worth being hired
it think my stock civic is better than that eclips .. i like the old version 95 ... the rest is shitttttttttt
Just get a 350z
3rd gen best gen fuck 4 gen.
Jumbie 😂😂😂😂😂

now days that's. not that bad the Chevy Monte Carlo ss v8 has 303 on 5.3l now that is dissapointing
4g eclipses are so ugly!
You sure did waste a lot of time with your comment about the 4G'a appearance, most notably for someone who doesn't like the car. Pointless.
2g was the best
@Tech Hybrid by what objective metric is the 4g better than any of the other 3 generations?
Great car, for a girl.
