Hey! Soooo nice to hear an Aussie accent... I adore thrifting.. most of my wardrobe, decor and Christmas decor is thrifted. I buy quality shirts for my son husband and son in law... still a great option for me. . Don't give up!
One time I saw a cool stand in my second hand store,in the sorting area ,so I peaked at it and the worker got mad and said that’s not available,a while later I saw her selling it on fb marketplace
It doesn’t matter Jo if you come away with a haul or not,i as im sure most of your subscribers would feel we love going with you anyway❤Heaps of fun❤I do say i think some of those thrift shops are really milking the vintage prices CRAZY….Have a great weekend Jo🌺🌸🌺🌸
Goldilocks 😂😂 Looks like you had fun Jo. I loved this video! Those vintage peices are definitely out there, so hard to find in opshops these days for sure. Way too much fast fashion at ridiculous prices 🤌🤌
Where I am in the uk the second hand shops think they are boutiques these days, I have been buying second hand all my life and used to be able to buy so much for my money, now it’s double in price or more, they also select the vintage/ premium brands and sell them on eBay. I also take a lot in to donate from time to time, a few weeks ago I was handing in a bag full of stuff and the assistant hesitated and asked “ what brands are in there”? 😲 they are really fussy now about what you bring in ( by me they are anyway) I’m tired of sifting through Shein, primark , and pretty little thing😫 I can’t catch a break lately, i did manage to find some beautiful lace and silk vintage camisole’s recently that was a good day🤗 great video Jo as always 🩵
Did you get any of those shoes? Salvatore Ferragamo pair looked great! I agree! Daisy Jones series had great fashion, all the characters were well portrayed
Yes, omg, I decided last week to stop going to salvos and lifeline for a while simply because it’s been weeks since I saw something good in there. So frustrating
I don't find anything in my size which is 14/16 top & 18/20 bottom so I look for bags shoes accessories 🤔 and usually find some awesome vintage pretties. Thank God my daughter got me onto Dangerfield clothing which has a retro slant to it & I always find something gorgeous in my size.
Enjoyed! Some cool looking things but so expensive. I was wondering what you think of round tip shoes? I know the little mini flats are in style but what do you think? I have a few nice leather ones, just not sure if I should part ways with them lol Are they still in? Have a lovely weekend!
I don’t go to thrift stores anymore. It’s used to be a little treat for myself, little treasure hunt. But currently it’s all garbage. I am sorry for the word “ garbage “ but I guess they are selling good stuff online and we see the leftovers. I love watching your videos anyway ❤
I think the reasons op shop are full of fast fashion is they take anything of good quality or brand and list it for big $$ online. Salvos even has their own website. Takes away the thrill of the hunt. Where i am in qld it has just started getting worse in this regard.....a salvos near me calls itself a "boutique" and most things are $20 plus. Ive even seen $200 dresses from brands like gorman not even nwt.... it makes me feeling like im too poor for an op shop...the worst feeling
I'm just back from Italy where I took a number of my shoes for repair to a traditional cobbler. It cost me between €5-10 for each pair to be re-heeled. I would have taken the Salvatore Ferragamo's over on my next trip and then sold them for pretty profit!
That was the most interesting video on vintage clothing I've seen by anyone on RUclips in a long time! Thanks:)
Thank you for saying that, Poppy ❤️
Same, a great video indeed 👍🌹
@ thank you so much ❤️ I’m so glad you guys enjoyed it 🙏

@@lizfromsydneyaustralia5609 Hey my fellow Aussie 🥰🥰 Thank you, Liz ❤️
♥️Great vintage piecea cuz.
At least you had a great time and the red cap is cute!! xoxo
Thank you, cuz ❤❌⭕
The reason there is no good things at op shops is because there are so many people reselling the best items, including the actual op shops I think.

@Skittles-wvr 😮
I just love looking through clothes! It's more exciting when you, one day, find that piece you're looking for. Great video, Jo!😸❄️

While my husband finds treasures,I can’t find anything in thrift stores plus the prices are skyrocketing. Great video my friend ❤❤❤
Same! My partner always finds something while I find nothing
🤷♀️
Thank you, my lovely ❤️ Men are not complicated creatures like us 🤷♀️

I hear you - it's a disgrace! 🤷♀️
Did you get any of those shoes? Salvatore Ferragamo pair looked great! I agree! Daisy Jones series had great fashion, all the characters were well portrayed
I didn't get anything. They heels were trashed - plus I'm not really into a round toe 🤷♀️
I didn't want it to end - Daisy Jones was too good!!!!! ❤️

Love Dangerfield! 😍
I LOVED Daisy Jones and the Six🤩Regrettably, now that I'm in my late 50's, I feel a bit 'costumey' if I wear too much boho😪
@@christinesnowden4562 I’m 53. I think the secret is to refrain from going boho head to toe ❤️
@THEJODEDESAESTHETIC ooh, thanks! Will give it another try!

Personally, they just don't work for me. I love a pointy flat - it's more flattering and sexy 🤷♀️
@@THEJODEDESAESTHETIC I think you are right 👍
Sorry you didn’t get the leather mini thought it looked really good on you

WTF!!!! It's not op shopping anymore - it's frickin' retail! 🤷♀️
❤🎉
🫶
That first vintage market was so expensive
Absofrickinlutely!!! 🤷♀️
💞🧚♀️💫
❤️🙏🥰
You didn't get those Salvatore Ferragamo's for $5.00???
😮
Yes! I would have snapped them up...cute heel
The heels were trashed or else YAAAAS!
I'm just back from Italy where I took a number of my shoes for repair to a traditional cobbler. It cost me between €5-10 for each pair to be re-heeled. I would have taken the Salvatore Ferragamo's over on my next trip and then sold them for pretty profit!
@ good thinking 99 🥰
We all shop at Kmart, target. They only sell junk.
Yep!!!
Ferragamos for $5? Oh my!
😮
But the heels were trashed 😢
Sorry but that big market was selling everything way overpriced. Probably better to go to an estate sale
Yeah those dated style oroton bags are not worth $120 ...ebay sells them $40 or less
Yes, I was thinking exactly the same
I agree 💯
Have never been to an estate sale - but would LOVE to!!!
Exactly!!!!
❤❤❤
