This is my biggest struggle in evangelism! I'm ready to nerd out about Jesus at any given time but I'm always scared to start a conversation. Thanks for the advice
Lol, you're not alone, Elijah! Hope this helps :)
@@WiseDisciple Update time! My roommate this semester is gay and at first it seemed like he felt uncomfortable around me because he knew I was a Christian. I tried implementing the tips you gave and we've had many deep conversations about faith so far! One lasted 3 hours and we both cried. He doesn't seem interested in christ just yet, but its clear the holy spirit is up to something. Thanks you so much for the advice!
I’ve taken baby steps and God has helped me progress. Step out in faith & prayer, He will catch you❤

Quick and easy. I needed that. God is good.
Remember a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated!
This is so simple yet so true
Thanks for this.
I get stressed when trying to talk to folks, and remembering simple truths about conversation can be very helpful.
Though: part of the stress is good, I imagine, since we have to remember that we must rely on Jesus, rather than treating such situations as 'no big deal', I think.
Amen! In the small area of responsibility that God has given us, there are some good tools to have productive conversations. :)

I feel God is calling me to evangelize but I am super nervous about it because, from my experience, people are not too perceptive about hearing about Jesus. They either turn you away or are ready to engage in a religious debate. I am unsure if I can represent him well.
sup brother get closer to God and talk to them about your testimony. Dont forget evangelizsm is about your relationship with God. Pray to Him
Remember a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated!
just speak slowly
"hello/shallom(smile) my name is .. i want to share something with you quickly.
what your name?
ask about their belief
what happen if we died?
how to go to heaven?
then share the gospel of Jesus
just speak slowly. you can do it
Even when I see evidence that a person has an interest in spiritual things, I’m usually careful to not ask pointed questions too soon.
On the other hand, Christianity is an historical religion, not only in the sense that it has been around for thousands of years. Faith is the evidence of things not seen. Most of the evidence is historical in nature. So, when I don’t see evidence of an interest in spiritual things, I first (almost always) try to determine whether the person is a) already interested in history or b) can be induced to talk about some aspect of history.

Like yesterday just share the Good news..it works. I also addressed the gay community haha! 'no homosapz in Heaven' but Hell wasn't made for mankind.
I'd rather be in the Hoodz.
'The Good News'
Ps. a brutha & a sis rocked up yesterday & said 'Hey bro..I had nothing to do last Sunday so me & the sis went to church'. The sis 'I know the Lord more than him' aahh! So I replied 'we need more labourers & the best ones are you guys..most churches dont outreach so I encourage home church too'..& everybody saw it.

Just ripped the Sherlock thing and the example of the person with the rosery necklace almost exactly from the Columbo tactic and the example Greg koukl gives in his book tactics of the lady he meets in the store and asks her if she has any religious significance for her necklace

Asking people to be as perceptive as Sherlock Holmes is asking a bit much, don't you think? BTW, at 4:25 you said almost verbatim what Greg Koukl says in some of his talks, only he met a Wiccan or a pagan or something. Did you get that idea from Greg, or was that just a coincidence?
No, especially since I said you don’t have to be as good as Sherlock. People love to correct you if they’re wrong. Also, that response is totally from Greg, who’s a mentor, of sorts, and a friend 😊
@@WiseDisciple Did you see what just happened? I asked you a question about yourself, and you corrected me. :-)
@@philochristos Lol! 😉
@@WiseDisciple I don't like to correct people since I'm a Far Right nationalist Christian so I'm looking for smart people that knows it all.

I wonder if you have considered moderating debates? As much for the debaters and audience as for for the topic of the debate. An opportunity to teach people how to debate as they are debating and as your audience watch and learn. Also rosaries are not typically necklaces for most Catholics. They are not jewelry but a tool to help with meditating. ☺️ Also Columbo>Sherlock 🤷🏻♀️.
Columbo???? 😱 Gasp 😱 Lol! Thanks for the comment. You’re not the first person to bring up the question of moderating. These debate reaction videos are basically what I would do with my students in the classroom to help them better identify arguments and provide proper responses. And that’s the same spirit I’m attempting in the debate series. In real debates, though, to do what I think you’re suggesting (which is, to moderate in a manner that stops and/or guides and corrects opponents) is rather gauche. It’s understood that judges keep track of what the opponents do, good and bad, and consider all of that when judging.
@@WiseDisciple hello this was really good I struggle with this area how to witness and talk to people I was wondering if you have a more specific talk on this more deep like what to say

so you are saying to not read off paphlets that were printed in the 80s? So your saying we shouldn't behave like mindless pull string dolls?
Argh!! Why do I always forget to ask people "why do you say/think/believe that?" I'll ask it once and then immediately want to go to the facts (that, let's face it, is gone from my brain the moment I face someone who says something silly about God) and only later realise asking more questions would've been more effective.

You demand that I respect and live by your beliefs, but you refuse to respect my right to believe what I wish. Is it fair enough ?
Not even close. Christians “demand” no such thing. We just have good news that we want to share out of love and respect for others.
I'd rather not be a manipulative person.
