As somebody suggested last week: they were waiting for a windy/stormy day for waterproofing the turret!!! 😀 Great cinematography! and really amazing how Brian does those roofing jobs like a flying ballerina!
Very well done gents! 🤗 Brian, having to much roofing experience, gets the final trophy 🏆 for hanging outside, in the wind, putting on the tarp to seal the chateau. Not the view most roofers would expect to encounter wearing climbing gear, but it’s done. Congratulations!!
Every time you show the Château, she looks more and more complete. She’s a proper house now. I’m so proud of all of you for your hard work and determination getting this house stabilized.
After all the hard work today, definitely need to trim the excess Tarp. that is flapping about on the turret so that the wind doesn't rip it off and take the battens with it in the worst of the weather conditions. - Just a thought, but well done all.
Wow that does look so amazing with the winter cover. Great work guys. Life is an adventure and you’re all living it, one day at a time. So amazing. And the world is watching and cheering you on.
I have watched from beginning and so happy for you to get to this point! My goodness the views from the turret! Such a beautiful country! Love from USA!
Temporary plastic sheeting isnt exactly what I had in mind when you said water tight roofing but It'll do in a pinch. Later in the spring / summer you can revisit again and do the permanent roof job with dormer windows installation.
Just a friendly tip from the comfort of my couch: you may want to stop those tarps from flapping around in the breeze, I’ve seen the wind tear them to shreds in a few months time in my back yard and they’re bound to catch a lot more wind up there. The worst part is cleaning up all the little threads of plastic that end up everywhere once they start to rip.
I am so happy for you Dan. Knowing that all the floors below will begin to dry out now and you can begin to restore more of your beautiful Chateau. So much more to look forward to!
Hey Dan, you should be so proud of yourself, Brian and Nick. You boys are truly amazing. this is no easy task and you three have mastered it. Well done. Love from N.Y.
Very Well done Guys! Fingers crossed it’s waterproof and ready for winter! Can’t wait for spring, the garden will be gorgeous already, you planned that so smart! And the work will be, if possible, even more satisfying! This roof will become so beautiful 🥰
Good morning team ❤ Thank goodness 😅 that job is done and ticked off for winter … Your just about ready to say …Let the snow begin 🙌❤️😁👍 Fantastic team work guys … Filling in the windows with be amazing and much more warmer … See you tomorrow ❤…
Bravo! Such marvelous accomplishment. We're with you, cheering every step. My question regarding the different roof sections was answered with your very last sentence. "Join them all together". Thank you.
Wanted to post this for awhile. Since I’ve been watching your project, almost everyday I am reminded of your vlog. You see, I walk my dog everyday along a path that is old sidewalk covered with sand and some gravel. The sound of my steps on that surface reminds me of your footsteps on the OSB littered with sand and bits of rock and grout. Immediately upon hearing my footfalls, I am immediately transported to an old chateau being renovated somewhere in France. 🖖❤️
What about that big gap between the turret and the large attic room behind it? That's the center of the chateau and still open to the rain. It very much looks like 4 waterproof roofs surrounding a gaping hole in the middle. Or about as waterproof as a doughnut! And, yet. You're really almost there!
Congratulations Dan, what a moment to share with Nick, Brian and us, everyone watching is immensely proud of our Dan who continues to amaze with indefatigable enthusiasm and ingenuity.
Thanks guys, great job. I do strongly recommend something like a “Telehandler” with a large man basket at the end. They are common here in Canada and the US and in fact some RUclipsrs have used ones. They will definitely help with safety if used properly and they also can carry two people with ease plus materials up which will make future roofing, copper installation, window installation much easier and you guys more productive. I think you also need this because hauling all the plaster up to the different floors by the stairs gets old pretty quick. 😊
Well done, guy's brilliant job 👏 one dry chateau it's been wonderful watching your progress... can't wait to see the finish on turret Congratulations 🎉
Seeing Nick at the very tip reminded me of the Jimmy Cagney film where he’s at the top of a skyscraper and he shouts “ look Ma, I’m on top of the world!!”😊
Oh Dan!!! I am beyond words of joy for you to get the chateau under cover, water resistant. It’s been a journey but look at that beautiful place!!! Sooo so proud of you and the crew!! Sending cheers and love from Texas! ~Bobbi~
Every time I hear the music that you played today I feel happy, and very happy for you!!! What an exciting journey you are on ! Your chateau is going to be absolutely gorgeous.
Congrats! I've loved watching this journey unfold. Its mind boggling to look back at some of the early videos with the trees and dirt inside the place and then look at where you've gotten to. Looking forward to the next steps!
It is astonishing that a huge flower pot full of trees and bush is now looking like a lovely chateau. Well done 🇨🇦❤
LOL too funny!
I’ve been astonished how much I am caring about this renovation.
Me too Jeannie. We all want sucess!
As somebody suggested last week: they were waiting for a windy/stormy day for waterproofing the turret!!! 😀 Great cinematography! and really amazing how Brian does those roofing jobs like a flying ballerina!
Dan, Nick and Brian.....Congratulations!! You have done an amazing job....well done!!!
Dan, Nick and Brian, WELL DONE!!!
I'm always amazed at the non-fear of heights you all display. My stomach turns over just watching from my recliner! Good work!
I was a paratrooper in the Army, have rappelled cliffs and bungie jumped and this still scares the heck out of me every episode! 😂
Congrats on getting her waterproofed. Quite the accomplishment and very well done. See ya tomorrow 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Very well done gents! 🤗

Over 40,000 views in less than an hour. It’ll be lovely that that is waterproof. Thank you, Dan.❤

You have made an astonishing amount of progress this year. Well done.
What a wonderful milestone and accomplishment! This project is such an inspiration
Wow Brian, you are a natural adventurous guy, hanging off the turret while working hard. Well done to the three Musketeers ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅
I can not wait for all of the roof flashing to be installed at the joints, and the gutters and downspouts. Then the tiles, the glorious roof tiles! ❤
Slates, not tiles.
@@jmk1962 Sigh. Slates ARE tiles. As in, slate tiles.
Yay, it’s going to be so much safer and warmer for you all once it’s all dry inside. Well done. Sleep well lad K🇬🇧❤️❤️
The chateau chapeau rain bonnet is finished yay! That was amazing to watch! 👏👏👏
That is quite a major landmark in the build.
Congratulations to all of you 🎉
So pleased to see those laths helping to control the tarps. What a great job!
Congratulations well done topping off the turrets. Amazing work

The countryside is looking so Bonnie . Good to the place protected for the winter. 🌸
Crikey!! Well done, just in time too. 👏
Once the tower is finished, you should put a telescope up there to watch the stars
Spy on the neighbours! Or observe fall of shot for the trebuchets.
@@TheBlackClaymoreor that 😂
It's going to be a long time before Dan will have the time for stargazing.
Hell make time.. 😂😂😂. Especially, you're taking get, a lady friend up there.❤❤❤

One step at a time. Hopefully they will continue to secure the tarp before winter.
Been there, had that happen.

Congratulations on an amazing milestone.
Great admiration for your commitment and courage. Vicariously we experience vertigo. Hoping the winter winds dont win.
