Team Scissors member here, I’ve seen a lot of people being salty about the Tricolor Battles, but I personally had a blast with them, however I admit that it’s mainly because I was in a call with my team and we were able to actually communicate with each other among the chaos. I am a little sad we lost, but hey what’s done is done, good job to all the teams!
im glad you enjoyed it!!! i was scissors too and it was horrible for me. i wish we could bring up valid complaints without everyone else saying we’re sore losers or just salty. i think tricolor baffles need to be rebalanced somehow, no matter who ends up winning.

Same here actually. There were problems, but I think after a while people will get the hang of it. My friends and I lost a lot in the beginning, but towards the end we went on a winning streak with tricolor. It got to the point where we prayed that we'd get one because if not it was just a match where team Rock spawn killed us
The problem with tri color is that the middle team can’t advance closer to the enemy spawns

Jokes, memes, unbalanced stuff aside, this game is looking to be incredible. I loved almost everything it brought to the table and tricolor battles, despite being a little hectic, was very cool. Will be proudly getting this game day one.

In all seriousness, I had the time of my life in my first ever splatfest and my first ever won splatfest. This game feels so much better, from the rumble and CAMERA SHAKE on the Roller and the sea of medals you receive *_and how Rock made a comback._* being able to stick and interact with your team and the mere existence of Tacticooler are just a few things to note about how good the game feels. Quick Respawn meta is fun, fight me, *_KILL ME! I HAVE TACTICOOLER EQUIPPED! KILL ME! I DARE YOU!_*
The QR-Meta is real, and I honestly love it.
Shout out to the player that set up a taticooler inside my big bubbler and proceeded to absolutely wreck the other team, that was super fun! Never played a shooter aside from a bow in Minecraft in my life but I caught on super quick and had a lot of fun even if I was losing most games (ended with 10 wins and 14 losses) I'm definitely going to pick it up when I can, it was so fun 😁

Let's go team rock! Pretty much the only reason I went with team rock is because of Shiver's really cool design. The emphasis on blue and the pale skin make the red eyes really stand out. The red eyes, pale skin and fangs give her a vampiric look also.
I chose team Rock because shiver brought up a good point about it having an overall better win rate. I'm glad I chose the team 😌 I was actually going to be team scissors because I like scissors, but Rock was a more *solid* choice, hehe.

Same! Honestly i think paper is superior in rock paper scissors but in splatoon its Shiver - sticking with my girl paid off in the end
I chose it because of shivers saying that rock resembles a rock punch. (I actually would have chose paper if it weren't frye saying that you could fold paper into a ninja star)

I love that I can hear the smile on Jay’s face throughout this entire video. Makes me excited to see the content we’ll see come from Jay with Splatoon 3 soon enough!
I was so excited for this and then I ended up being able to finish like 5 games despite playing for nearly the whole 12 hours because I kept disconnecting really early on. The games I got to play were fun at least

Seriously, though, great job to all the teams, Scissors, I’m sorry that us at on Team Paper beat you, but whatever the outcome would’ve been, it was still an amazing time nonetheless. Huge congrats to Team Rock, I had a lot of fun battling you guys too.

I was playing on Mahi-mahi resort, and one of the opponents got too excited for the reef slider to the point where they slid into the water when I was one hit 🤩
I was Team paper which for me I love Frye :D even tho it wasn’t a lot of people on team paper this was my first ever splatfest being in and had a blast can’t wait for future ones!!
As a team rock player, I wish I picked paper. After seeing anarchy trio chill with each other, love cemented but too late already picked that shiver smile lol

The funniest thing happened with me and my friend.
So she hasn't played Splatoon since the release of 2, and she decided to play in the splatfest with me.
...our first match was a 100x.
We won.
And then her SECOND match was ALSO a 100x.
We lost that one, but when I tell you I was laughing SO HARD.

@@Deeznuts4 I’ve managed to be there for ketchup vs mayo, trick vs Treat and I think chaos vs order including Rock Paper Scissors and Callie vs Marie but the only reason I missed the other splatfests is cus I always got the game kinda late ( I’m sure there was other splatfests I was there for but I don’t remember much it was a long time ago ) but this time I won’t be late to any of the splatfests thank god….
So, being team paper, I expected paper to be in last, but no, I guess rock had the last laugh, and we somehow came in second. Ggs tho guys.

Everyone focuses so much on killing in splatoon that the turf war part becomes secondary. And that's how I won like 75% of the games with me using aerospray EVEN with me absolutely sucking at using fizzy bomb (like seriously I just can't charge it for a million years when I should be inking, worst sub-weapon change).
Bonus: my best weapon score in splatoon 2 was 48.5 with Aerospray MG, but ofc then went on a losing streak just before the coveted golden 50
I stick with the aerospray the whole splatfest. I like the fizzy bomb and I like the special! It was a good combo
I did see quite a few aerosprays but I never ended up trying it (I haven't used one since Splatoon 1). Once I switched back to the basic Splattershot Jr and started playing hyper aggressive, I stopped trying different weapons lol.
Taking over the enemy base and placing a shield beacon (I don't remember the name) seems almost too powerful. Once the whole team is there, anyone who gets splatted can ink the rest of the map before jumping back to the rest of the team. At the end of my last session, I had about 24 wins and 7 loses. A lot of those wins where pretty dominate too. However, the best counter to getting your base swarmed seems to be ignoring everyone and rushing into their base in return.
Also, let's go Team Rock!
5:44 I can't even begin to tell you how many times I was labeled #1 Home Base Inker. We're three whole games into this franchise and I still have to beg people to ink the base lol.

you know, at 1:42, these new models DO look better than the older ones. Dunno why, maybe some subtle shading to it, but they look less plasticy and a bit more actually squishy? A bit more realism in the funny squid game (the real one)
First off, Team Rock and N-Zap main here, second i love how the new ranged melee weapon instantly became a meme for anything with range. I love the new music btw.

The “Markiplier” (official known as The Angle Shooter) is essentially just a harder to use point sensor. Any enemy that is hit by the projectile or touches the light trail it leaves behind is marked and tracked for a short time.
The only reason you would pick it over the point sensor is the fact that it can actually deal a small amount of damage if you can actually hit an enemy with it directly.

As a dualies main i played most games with the regular splat dualies and ive come to realize that the crab is so underrated. I love it so much and its such a powerful special

yo yo team paper member! im gonna be real i was super excited to play but this was one of the most stressful things ive ever played 😆 Idk if it was the same for other test fires but the limited weapons were a struggle, as well as the fact we werent able to test ANYTHING out until the day of the fest. i was getting my butt kicked almost the whole time. but i ended the night with a w so ill take it lol

I was hard team rock, but I had so much fun this splatfest. even if I didn't win every battle splatoon 3 feels so smooth in gameplay, especially gunplay. it feels much more responsive and easy, along with movement being very crisp. I genuinely think I'm going to love the game when it comes out, and to paper and scissors u guys played amazing, I hope we meet again ^^

team Rock here very very excited we won cuz this was my first ever splatfest I've gotten to do that wasn't like just an extra thing for mario, I've seen a lot of people really hate on the tricolor thing I thought it was amazing like all of my friends were saying they didn't want to do it they thought it seems too hard but I don't think I lost a single tricolor battle as team Rock being a sneaky roller probably helped a good bit

The bubble special acts as a beacon. When your team was dead you could pop it and they can jump to the protected beacon

I only encountered two 100x battles during the premiere, and I was disconnected both times.
I love this game.
I like this game, yes there was quite a few of unbalanced stuff, and glitches but I hope it gets resolved once the game comes out and when the next splatfest happens(Trust me winning splatfest halftime was a curse and I hope those salty rock, scissor, paper(depends what you encountered) mains don't turn players off from the game.)

I was damn sad when I played the demo, because it turns out I cannot get used to the controls at all, gyro or tilt, in the 4 hours I played (because the Splatfest is 12am to 12pm for me, fun timeslot) and I ended up with motion sickness after a while. But man, even that 4 hours, despite all my frustration with getting splatted because I cannot control my game well, was super hype, and I had fun as well!
Ironically, the Splatana was the one that I was best at, on tilt controls. Not much aiming, when you rush up to an opponent and smack them right in the face.
I'll probably stick to watching you and the other Splatubers play for now, and maaaybe buy it myself when I have the money
