I've been a subscriber for a long time man, glad to see you well and married. Never thought of you getting rid of the i8 but business are business. I was surprised that you're managing cryptos. just on your scaling into your crypto positions of late? Do you consider the macro enviroment at all? With the Fed currently hawkish and crypto showing us of late it is a spec asset class, would it not be wiser to wait for a change of monetary policy before entering? Honest question interested to hear your thoughts if possible. id just worry that there must be a real need for monetary liquidity before seeing next bull run on crypto. I could be totally wrong of course.
Hi Gary,
Currently crypto is not escaping the macros - that is absolutely true. With that being said even further negative news, I don’t see it pushing prices much lower. For that reason I’m dollar cost averaging in, we’re currently up 200% off the lows on some of the projects I’ve been buying - within a few weeks.
There’s the possibility we push lower again - especially if we get a 100 bps hike, but I’d simply be buying more and averaging in.

You guys don’t use heat maps, order flow, depth of market, etc… no offence and I wish the best for you and your team, but you guys aren’t that ‘professional’. Professional proprietary traders use what I mentioned above. Minimal to no trend lines and indicators. Support and resistance lines don’t mean anything if you can’t see the orders on a heat map. That’s how you know if that support or resistance is even strong.
I have used all of the above when I traded futures.
I used to trade the BUND and some other Eurex products. When doing so, I was using L2 data, DOM, TPOs etc. However now that we’re all only trading CFD and spot markets, we simply don’t need the L2 data.
Don’t get me wrong, i will likely get back to futures down the line, but for now I’m not trading any futures markets.
Now having L2 doesn’t determine whether you’re a professional or not. Trading at a professional level does.
