An update: now I got 272000 KM on the clock and I will have to change same major parts now but after almost 9 years I would still recommend it very strongly.
    Its been a vablous experience!

2022 and I came looking for videos on this. I thought the front would NOT age well, but with its simplistic lines and years before cars had to have fake vents on ever angle, it has actually aged extremely well. Its not crazy, but its clean and aesthetically pleasing.
As for the rear, well. That's beautiful and still looks as good as some modern cars- minus the LED matrix that jewels most cars today.
The shape, the lines, the simplicity and the fact its affordable and rare as rocking horse s**t makes this a modern classic.
I know its a renault, but they don't make these anymore. There's barely any around and it's far more attractive than it had any right to be for a renault.

Totally agree, I never was into cars but when I saw this one on the road a couple years ago it was love at first sight. Beautiful timeless design. Too bad the diesel will make it obsolete in a few years, I hope there will be more options to transform to greener energies. Anyways looking to buy it as my first car next year.

got the 2.0 auto version. very easy car to drive.. the biggest risk is falling asleep at the wheel, it's so comfortable.

You can’t watch a DVD while driving & they say even hands free phones distract drivers when having a conversation, but they can fit a sat nav with a screen & Audio in Vehicles.

You make a fair point. A lot has already been written about the distraction surrounding modern in-car multimedia touch-screens and the like. The truth is, it all comes down to the individual driver's discipline in not looking down at the screen for too long and maintaining attention on the road ahead. I think head-up displays are a useful innovation - projecting basic instructions from the sat nav on to the windscreen.

You're right. It didn't sell well here in the UK. Despite heavy discounting, it's now been pulled.

Yep sorry but US have missed out ...one of the reason that I did not enjoy driving much when I was in the US that there wasn't any Renault to buy!

Much more appealing now as a second-hand purchase.

that's lot of money for a renault if you ask me. I don't imagine it will sell too well. The rear does resemble an Aston.
