Best review so far (and I've watched many). You're the only one that pointed out the non-standard 76mm tires and actually tested other rally car bodies. Thanks for your attention to detail!
It would be great to get any feedback on whether or not those tires balloon, and if so, how bad, and if that makes them rub on the body. That's always an issue with rally cars if there's enough power in the ESC/ motor.
@@gregganderson5479 No issues with the kit setup I had. I'm unsure if it's a problem for the carbon one or when you add more power. That said, I was impressed with the kit tyre performance on the skate part surface, very consistent and after an hour of flat-out bashing, the tyres still have loads of life left in them. Rlaarlo would do an option set for more offroad rally surfaces but I didn't see any on the website.
The Carbon one also has spiral cut machined diff gears. Rlaarlo also sell a 190mm kit (arms, driveshafts etc) to make a narrow chassis for standard bodies ;)
The Carbon and the Roller have the same gears, they also have 36mm motor size, the Alloy version has 28mm motor mount, looks like the Roller will be the one to get
Ooh, I'm getting mine in 3 days, and the first thing I'm going to do, is the receiver relocation, and move power button! Great idea, and first time anyone thought of this, out of 500 some videos! That airborne roll was awesome! Thanks for the great informative video. Right now, Rlaarlo rules!
This video is top-notch! 🙌 Your review of the Rlaarlo XTS-F10 is one of the most authentic and engaging I’ve seen - no fluff, just pure, honest feedback. We also offer a 190mm conversion kit, which allows you to modify the width to 190mm, making it compatible with most body shells on the market.
Great video and great mods! I cant wait to get my roller! I was torn between the roller and carbon. I think I will go roller and Surpass 4s system now though!
Wasn’t sure if people would really get that one so I almost pulled it. I’m sure this is exactly what goes on in all product development meetings. Hehehe
Nice vid, Gavin. The barrel roll is impressive 😮 And the "fly me to the Moon" jump too 😅 Yeah, both liveries aren't bad, but still lack something. Real one on a clear body will certainly look better 😊🤝
I’m really surprised how well it handles and doesn’t bounce all over the place. Must be balanced well and it’s size and weight is managed well. The long travel suspension helps a lot also… Seems like a very well designed model and it’s tough as nails… I haven’t seen anyone break it yet I don’t think 🤔
Yep it sure is. The only weak point is the rear lights pop out and the body can crack around the rear spoiler and light area if you send it. If you get one, it’s well worth adding some small washers to the rear light fixing screws. You can also reinforce the rear spoiler and light bucket area with silver tape or rock wall tape and glue if you plan on bashing it harder than you should.
@@RCKickschannel I just learned from Dario RC Garage that the diffs are different in the metal version and carbon version. The carbon version has spiral gears. If you mentioned that ignore my post.
With the 190mm Conversion Kit, Tamiya, as well as other 190mm, bodies can be used. The kit includes shorter upper & lower suspension arms, as well as shorter driveshafts & links. By the way, the spare & upgrade parts (including the conversion kit) are already available to order. As for your "get the roller" comment, while I'd like to agree (U was already considering doing that, even before watching your video), I have a MUCH better recommendation - order the CF RTR, plus a spare clear body. As the electronics included in the RTR is not the only difference. Speaking of upgrade parts, I discovered something 'interesting'. The available upgrade parts are NOT all listed under the "XTS-F10 Parts" category. If you check under the "RZ001 Parts" category, you'll find quite a few upgrade parts compatible with the XTS-F10. The reason is that (as many already know) the XTS-F10 is based on the RZ001 "Omni Terminator" platform. When checking out the RZ001 upgrade parts, you'll see that some are labeled only for the RZ001, while others are labeled did the RZ001 & XTS-F10.
Cool. What body are you thinking of going for? I’m going to order the same as you, but not until Jan as I’ve got a load of kits coming before Christmas already.
Good exploration video Gav! Would it be fair to say that the roller version won't have the lighting and the backfire system intact as that relies on the radio gear? The lighting system and body is the dominant feature of this model, I am keen to get one for night time motorkhana gymkhana sessions.
Yep looks like you can swap out arms and shafts to adjust the track width to make Tamiya bodies work. HPI have bodies that fit its default track so people have commented.
Hello Gavin, I am wondering how this compares to the Traxxas Ford Fiesta which is licensed. Is it bigger or smaller? Faster or slower? Price? Thoughts?
The Ford Fiesta is much larger-even though it's marketed as a 1/10 scale, it's 1/8 scale in size. The rally has nearly the same dimensions as the Traxxas Slash. The only difference are-the rally has slightly shorter arms, it has a rally body, it has rally front/ rear bumpers, and the tires it comes with are about 5 millimeter shorter than a standard 1/10 short course tire. The Ford Fiesta rally is the same size as the Maverick QuantumRX, which in my opinion, is a far better deal price-wise. That said, Traxxas will have better parts support than the Maverick, which is an off-shoot of HPI. If you look at the scale of rally cars, it's all over the map. HPI makes a 1/8 Subaru rally car that's smaller than a Traxxas Ford Fiesta, but it's longer and wider than a 1/10 MK2 Fazer rally car.
In last days I have seen a lot of reviews of this car, but in they all the car is driven in wide places with random paths. I would like to see the car in a good rally circuit to see its precission and how It unfolds on a twisty stretch
Nice video, but why is my thumbnail the only one that is backwards? Is there some hidden message, like it says "I love Satan" if you read it backwards???🤣🤣🤣
@RCKickschannel they have 3 different variants of the Impreza the classic bugeye Hawkeye 2 variant of the focus rs MK1/2 for rally car shell's in 200mm wide . With lots of "touring car" shells M3 skyline the usual and some pickup/truck shell's.
@@RCKickschannel Yes stuff is great, but expensive, where did you happen to find it. FYI your review of XTS-F10 was by far the best, with the comparison sizes, of bodys and batteries.
Then why don't you just buy a buggy body put a rally body on it the Tamiya rally car uses belts so it's smoother and they have a proper dust shield for it underneath the wheels how did nobody even remember that

The large wheels give it a look that's similar to the Traxxas; less scale, and more toy-like.
But, they give the car more versatility in terms of surfaces it can run on. That's one benefit of the larger tires.
