This is such a good video; I love how you all incorporated the history of station 33 not just about the fire station tour. I think it’s really important to include the history of fire stations and to show us that your more than co workers but it’s much more than that your a family and you all make sure that you have each other’s backs. Stay safe!
This is SO GOOD! I love all of the history and pride at Station 33. It's great to see. Also, A+ job of production on this video. It was very well done and yet another reason why South Metro Fire Rescue is the best. Stay safe! 👍🏼 🚑🚒👨🏻🚒🧑🏼🚒
Thank You soooo very Much Station 33 👍👍 Awesome job showing going out to calls, training exercises and making those delicious looking waffles 😎😃😃 sharing the feeling of actually being close knit together as a family team *** Then showing the firestation tour 👍❤
Thank you! Yes, Engine 33's minimum staffing level is 3 personnel but it will likely be bumped up to 4 personnel when the next academy class or two hit the streets.
Seeing all you do to train gives a different respect for the general public. Your firehouse was built when I was in high school. I wish my body had held up as well as your building!
Hello My Brothers and Sister's, I'm A 30 year Veteran and have been Retired for the last 11 years, 33 has a Nice Station. I worked on both the Engine company as well as the truck company. We were fighting a house fire and me and my partner were up on the roof cutting a hole for ventilation and just as I put the point of the axe in the cut flames shot up in front of me and lost my balance and fell 2 1/2 stories and landed on my air pack, I fell through the second and first floor when my alarm went off so I could be found. I injured my lower back and neck. Stay safe my Brothers and Sister
In the beginning I was a bit worried that you switched up one of my favourite formats of the channel, but having watched the video in full I think it was a cool addition to show a bit of the day-to-day stuff _additionally_ to the tour of the station. I'm not that big of a fan of all this "firefighter hero/action movie" stuff, so I could've done with an intro that was about 5 notches quieter - but that's just my personal taste. Still a great video and really interesting to watch for all the differences and yet the many similarities between US firefighting and how we do it over here in germany :)
Good video. Nicely produced. Only one question/comment. Noticed Rosie was putting on her mast with bunker gloves on. Would she properly be able to tighten all the straps? Preset straps may help but don’t seal all the way typically . 🤔
That stash help him with being the boss and league has it that fire is already out before he gets there and he hides in the station so no one can bother him when hes eating and sleeping
@@Cyedae Previously on Station Saturday, the crew has mentioned the if the engine is staffed with only 3 because of low call volume. The didnt here, so im curious if its because of one crew missing(illness, vacation ect) or if its only is staffed with 3 witch seems odd of South Metro Fire Rescue Centennial for station as busy as this
@@jakobmadsen31 Like I said, it'll depend on the overall staffing on each shift (A, B, & C). There may also be staffing shortages within the department which is why they only have 3 members on RE33.
South Metro continues to work toward 4 person staffing on all Engine Companies. Engine 33 will likely get their 4th after the next academy class or two graduates. Operations Division ultimately decides which Engines have a 4 person minimum based on a number of factors like being paired with a Medic Unit, their location and call volume.
E15 has moved to Station 37 north of 15s and will respond from there as E37, M15 as moved to Station 14 to the northeast and responds as M14, there is minimal increase in response time in fact some of 15s first due will have a quicker response time.
Station 33 isn't large enough to accommodate additional apparatus and personnel. As Autofleet4429 wrote below, Engine 15 was relocated to Engine 37 and Medic 15 was relocated to Medic 14.
I've actually seen this once with my local department they had a car fire in front of my place and after they battle the car fire the engineer took the engine to the nearest fire hydrant refilled that way.
@@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO what about the unscripted series? That’s where I came from and got me interested in the channel. Much love from Southeast Iowa
Not the best video that been put out yet and it was kind of confusing. That a good size station for only having two bays. Have fun with all the training.

Great job 33. I like that this was about the crew and the training, not just a firehouse tour.

Impressive practice session with lots of practical advise. Chocolate Chip Waffles oh yeah! Nice practice equipment too. Great review all.
Thanks for watching!

Impressive training routine and effort.
That’s one of the most legendary mustaches I’ve ever seen
Legend has is that some fires extinguish themselves when they see Captain Schmidt's mustache.

“Hose sent out for testing”. Man, I would’ve given a limb to be able to say that the first 20 years of my career😅
I'm hungry now, thanks. Good job, I enjoyed that,
Glad you enjoyed it
I wish we would do more training like that here at my station.
So one of the most impressive departments operates in t-shirts. Crazy.
Super vidéo, je vous suis depuis Lyon (France) 👍🏽
Editing during the intro was really nice on this one. Good work

Awesome! Do you think if I swing by Station 33 on Sunday I could get some waffles?
Lol
Okay now actually getting a look at these waffles, I am in awe. Please, compliments to the chef(s)!

very relaxed environment for the rookie... nothing like my dept
I could be wrong about this but I’m certain that Tiller 34 will most likely have Onspot Automatic Tire Chains installed.
What is that section of cord on rosie’s leg and what is it used for?
I want to be apart of South Metro Fire Rescue but I live in NEW YORK. And all fire departments in long island are volenteer.
That Officer really knows what he’s doing
I’m confused on why it says station Sunday and not station Saturday
It was filmed on Sunday

A nice change up to the 'Station Saturday' format. Also, great teaser by announcing the Saturday premier on Wednesday.

Is station 15 going to split into 33s for the rebuild?
E15 has moved to Station 37 north of 15s and will respond from there as E37, M15 as moved to Station 14 to the northeast and responds as M14, there is minimal increase in response time in fact some of 15s first due will have a quicker response time.

Medic 33 was Medic 37. That assignment was changed in February of 2023.

How do you guys refill a fire truck after a mission or training
I've actually seen this once with my local department they had a car fire in front of my place and after they battle the car fire the engineer took the engine to the nearest fire hydrant refilled that way.
Yes, water tanks on fire apparatus are refilled after fires and training, usually at the nearest fire hydrant.
@@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO is there one usually at or near the station or would they have to find it?
@@seanrobbins7125 There is a hydrant right next to Station 33 and usually one on every street corner in their first due area.

Why medic 33 is so old and is the 4th busiest
M33 used to be M37 but was relocated to Station 33 for better coverage.

This is the type of Captain I would kick over small children to work for. (Disclaimer, that’s a joke…kind of)
