  • Hello again... today you can come along with me as i change the auxiliary belt on my Honda Civic Type R FN2, with a genuine Honda part supplied by Tegiwa.
    This isn't exactly 'new' content as theres 2 good videos on this by FN2OPS and FNlew i have copied links below to those videos. Show them some love.
    Tools: 14mm ring spanner with an open end.
    1/2" extension bar
    Screw driver. (optional)
    *my under tray was already removed before i started.
    I have an A/C model so the belt/part number maybe different from your car so make sure you check what you need.
    Here are the 2 videos i mentioned in my video, thanks guys for the inspiration

      No worries mate, I'm reasonably confident with tools, it's just nice to have no surprises. haha yeah the ramps are handy, treated myself :D i'm putting the under tray on in the morning that's why i was using them :) Thanks for your video... keep them up.

    Awesome vid, I have a whirring pulley coming from somewhere in there so might need to take off belt and test each pulley to see where sound is coming from

      @@JonoLam thanks man I hope it helped. Yeah you could have a worn pulley bearing… I’m chasing a squeaky belt on my Mrs Nissan, it’s a real pain to pin point.
      Good luck with the repair mate 😃

      @@yardspeed13 I tried to use stethescope technique but still hard to hear which pulley it is, mechanic reckons it might be water pump.

      @@JonoLam could be… I’ve used stethoscopes on electric motors at work before I find it hit and miss tbh. Unless the bearing is completely chalked.
      I guess go with what the mechanic says… it’ll be a case of firing the parts canon at it until it’s fixed, sadly

      Cheers Rob I appreciate it mate. 👌🏼 I’ll be honest I nearly didn’t bother filming it because of the faffing with cameras. It came out ok so it’ll do.

    did you have a scratching sound before putting new belt on? trying to identify horrible scratching when acelerating. already changed top pulley

    • @yardspeed13
      @yardspeed13  Год назад +1

      Nah no noise, the belt just looked all brown and dry, so I changed it before it snapped.
      Sometimes a worn idler pulley can make noise when the bearing is on the way out. Best way to check is to take the belt off and then spin all the pulleys one by one and listen for any noise

    What did you torque the tensioner pulley to at the end?

    • @yardspeed13
      @yardspeed13  6 месяцев назад

      Hey man, sorry I didn’t actually change the pulley, just the belt so I didn’t remove any bolts or have to torque them up afterwards.
      Is it the main pulley bolt spec you want or the bolts for the bracket that holds it to the engine? Or both?

    Have replaced both bearings 3x now What could be the reason for this keep happening? I think something must be not aligned and is causing the bearings to go off. Can anybody help me?

    • @yardspeed13

      What is happening to your belt? Perhaps you have an issue with a tensioner?
