Her leaning forward like that totally pins Hackman into his seat. He has no way to move or deflect her questions. She would've been a terrific police interrogator.
That's why he crossed his leg, to prevent her from getting closer
One of the truly all time greats!
Absolutely he was so good. Powerhouse actor.
Hackman wasn't too bad either
Greatest of all time.
Yes.
As an educational science student my heart just melted hearing a father talk like that about his children.
Look up Gene Hackman Inside The Actor’s Studio to hear the background of how he grew that strong understanding of the love a child needs from their father.
My favorite GH movies are 1 the Poseidon Adventure and 2 Mississippi Burning. Honorable mention goes to Unforgiven and The Quick and the Dead. Long live Gene Hackman! 👍🏾
We can't forget Hoosiers
She’s a close talker.
I share his opinion/view of "The Conversation". It was an unusual movie and done well and held my interest. I've met him (once) and he seems to be a regular guy.
Leta Powell Drake was a powerhouse interviewer and I could watch her for hours on end. Her confident abandon, emotional intelligence and wonderful voice are fantastic. She managed to get someone as reserved as Gene Hackman to open up and relax. I LOVE that she said, "you've done some brilliant pictures, you've done some stinkers" and elicited such a fun response from a legendary actor like Gene Hackman. He's one of the best actors, ever, and he took her comment in the benign spirit in which it was intended.
It looked at first, to me, that she intimidated Hackman, that he didn't completely trust such overt emotionalism, but eventually of course he did. Very impressive. (And I agree with your ranking of Hackman.)
She’s a very aggressive woman. Super confident. Her interview style is confrontational. It looks to me that Gene Hackman put his leg up as a barrier.
One of the greatest actors loved him in the French connection The Conversation, Superman, Missiippi burning , I never sang to my father. And many more they don't make actors like him anymore am always thankful I was around to see the best Clint Eastwood Jack Nickelson Christopher Walken Robert De Nero....brilliant
'Misunderstood' is a great movie.
A relaxed guy
Not the best interviewer. I feel like she’s a bit in his face leaning forward like that.
Alpha female
MobiusVideo she's drunk
funny I felt uncomfortable for him as well (thought I was the only one, lol) but he was "mad cool" though!
I liked her. She was honest.
Am I the only one who paused and immediately went to IMDb blown away that I never put together he was in young Frankenstein?
Gene Hackman like in sports you call guys who just take it to another level that dude. Well in acting Gene Hackman is that dude. Superman, Crimson Tide, Bonnie and Clyde. Rarified air. Legend indeed.
That has to be the weirdest interviewer I have ever seen. Even her posture seems a bit intimidating. She does appear to be somewhat drunk
Looks like Gene Hackman feels the same way
I love Gene’s laugh.
Love Gene, but why is he dressed like a gas station attendant?
That why I like him. He always dresses very normally
It's a golf shirt he must have just left a course ... I'm guessing 😂
@@krinlast8567 it says valvoline, he raced cars.
His career wasn't faring too well during this time. Luckily, that would change.
Very weird interview, but entertaining also.
"His name is Gene Hackman"...
...really??
I can't believe that Hackman retired already in 2004.
He got out just at the right time, that year marks the real big change in movie making it all went down hill from there not least visually which means he's lucky he never got to make one of these by the dozen ugly movies we've had for the last two decades.
Curious to know what they considered stinkers.
She digs him. Smart gal!
Coach Norman Dale
His he wearing a Rugby top? Cool.
“I didn’t know you were a pilot!”
“Yes.”
Uricka

Crazy woman
Groupie.
Valvoline!
Is she drunk? She's drunk.
Yup. If you can tell something’s wrong within the first 10 seconds, they’re drunk.
Don't point at people; numb numb
Geez, she is dying to S#%K him off!
You could be right, staring at him like do me now Gene
She is awkward as hell. Way in his space.
Right, 3 feet lady back up.
Went straight to the comments to see if anyone else thought she was drunk.....yep! i wasnt the only one ...
I didn't know he was a Scientologist
