Maintaining that voice without actually destroying your vocal cords is a talent in and of itself. Not as easy as people want to believe. Do it wrong you could kill your voice forever

especially untrained and going on feel. Just crazy. And though she's been performing with growls for almost a decade and a half and practicing for who knows how long before that, both her cleans and growls get better and better.

Good Reaction. Welcome to Jinjer. The band is incredibly talented and highly professional. Tatiana is a vocal goddess and one of the best frontwomen in the business. They have many different genre influences and they fuse it with metal to produce a totally different sound. I recommend "Teacher, Teacher" (OMV) for a great reaction.

Fun reaction. My first time listening was also a bit confusing to me, but I dig this band now. Great performer this Tatiana is. So write this one down too: 'Who is Gonna be the one'. It's live and in the open air, with a surprising twist at the end.

This one not so much but Tatiana frequently uses rap cadences when she’s growling and sometimes in her cleans as well. She's also quite the poet in all her songs so pulling up a lyrics page is never a mistake. The majority of their fans appreciate analysis, especially by anyone who is able to contribute a unique perspective. There will alway be the "just listen to the song" folks, but whatever. ;)
The guys are amazing musicians too, Eugene on bass, Roman on guitar, and Vlad on drums. Of the four, only Vlad is a trained musician as a pianist, coming from a better off region in the west of Ukraine, while the other 3 are from a mining and industrial region in eastern Ukraine that has been subject to a "low intensity" war since 2014 but is now threatened by open invasion by Russia. Home Back is about their hometown being caught in the war and is intense.
We usually suggest something on stage next because they are such great live musicians and Tati so mesmerizing a performer that their concert videos usually overshadow their studio stuff. I see some folks recommending Teacher Teacher because Tatiana shows her rap influences most clearly in that one, and the studio video is expertly put together and well loved by the fans. There is a live in Melbourne version which is good but Eugene's bass is low in the mix so the music isn't quite as good as the studio- if your primary focus is on the vocals though it is fine.
Be careful. Many Jinjer fans including myself never liked extreme vocals, but have been turned to the dark side by her growling and screaming skills. This is only a bit below her most comfortable medium growls and higher screams. She can go lower. Already I see you taking the first steps on that path of darkness. :p Subbed. Cheers!

BRO they have a song that starts really heavy, then they change to reggae and she sings over that best, then it get heavy again and she screams. Check it out! Search for, Jinjer one take Judgment (& Punishment) You'll know you're on the right video because you'll see her standing infront of a microphone.
It's amazing how she can sing this amazing reggae, then scream get face off in a way that will give you nightmares haha

Loved the reaction bruh! For you I recommend you do Teacher, Teacher next. If you can and want to milk it. Do the official Version and then do the live at Melbourne. Your gonna get alot Perrenial requests, but for your ear Teacher, Teacher and Punishment and Judgment will really get you in. I speak astronomy live I'd fucking amazing too, and is primarily clean vocals.

🔥Welcome to Jinjer, Mugetsu! I just found your channel, great reaction, subbed! Thank you for bringing the fantastic genre twisting music of Jinjer to more people! I love their energy, how tight they are, how down to earth they are, the heaviness mixed with complexity and groove, beautiful singing and beautiful growling and especially Tatiana's lyrics!
The first time I heard Pisces last year I hadn't liked any metal with growling and it took me a few listens to start liking it, but now Tatiana is my favorite vocalist and Jinjer my favorite band (Pisces has been my wakeup alarm for the past year or so and I still love it more every time I hear it).
TLDR: skip to the last paragraph 😂
Sorry for the very long comment, I just love Jinjer too much and love seeing people discover (and usually fall in love with) them and each of their songs!
My three favorite comments about Jinjer that I've seen, "terrifying levels of talent", "I hate it when a Jinjer song ends", and "that was more unexpected than my first child" 🤣
I love the story of Tatiana getting interested in learning to growl. In her own words, "I was inspired by Otep (Shamaya). When I was 15, my friend showed me a record of House of Secrets. I was like, ‘That dude - his voice is so powerful. And he said, ‘Oh come on Tatiana, that’s actually a woman!’ I was like, ‘What?’ She blew my mind. That was the time, the moment when I realized I wanted to shock people just like her. I just had the feeling or the intuition, like an extra sense that this is what I’m made to do.”
The four current members have essentially no musical training except for Vlad the drummer who studied classical piano. They've been a tour heavy band, on the road almost nonstop from 2013 to 2020, hard work that has made them fantastic live and they make it look effortless. For most of their songs, the three guys write most of the instrument music, then Tatiana writes most of the lyrics and melodies (she gets tons of well deserved credit for her vocal and stage performance abilities, but maybe not quite enough for her lyrical and musical composition abilities). Roman the guitarist has written a lot of the instrument music in the past, so he's a huge part of the beautiful sound of Jinjer, but Vlad the drummer (who also plays guitar and piano, but so far not in most Jinjer songs - I think he played piano in lainnereP) has been writing more of it and wrote nine of the eleven songs for the newest album Wallflowers, first four videos are out for Vortex, Mediator, Wallflower and Disclosure! Eugene composes some - he wrote the instrument music for one song on Wallflowers and a few songs on other albums, and I know that apart from his amazing work on the bass, he adds riffs and has written lyrics for a few Jinjer songs.
The band (all members have been Ukrainian, with Russian their first language) started in eastern Ukraine in 2009 as a group of three (then five) with none of the current members (they consider the official start of the band when Tatiana replaced the male vocalist and Roman joined as lead guitar 2009/2010), Vlad is the fifth drummer (joined in 2016) and it's been a group of four since 2015 (though they consider their road sound engineer Sasha to be a fifth member). I think they're still friends with all the former members and you can see former Jinjer guitarist turned actor, Dmitry Oksen, on guitar in older Jinjer videos, and acting as an interrogator in their latest video, Disclosure!
One of the things I love most about Jinjer is the messages in Tatiana's lyrics and the way she combines her beautiful growling and beautiful singing with Jinjer's fantastic instrumentals to be so powerful for expressing the anger and pain in those messages: the anti-war message in Home Back, the anti-greed in On The Top, Mediator and No Hoard Of Value (also the horror of the coal mining industry in their home Ukraine), the protest song Who Is Gonna Be The One, the anti-fascism of Sit Stay Roll Over, the anger at people being narrow minded in Teacher Teacher and Judgment & Punishment, the struggles with mental health in Pit Of Consciousness, Vortex, Wallflower and Perennial, the giving voice to mother nature angry at humanity for letting capitalism destroy her in a bunch of songs like Ape, The Prophecy, Cloud Factory, Noah, Outlander, Dip A Sail and Bad Water. Other favorites are I Speak Astronomy, Retrospection, Words of Wisdom, Just Another, Captain Clock, Scissors, Exposed As A Liar, I Want It I'll Get It, A Plus Or A Minus, When Two Empires Collide, lainnereP, Prologue and Beggar's Dance (those last two are short album bookends that might do well together in one reaction).
I haven't found a Jinjer song I don't love, so I think you can't go wrong if you choose any of them, but a few good choices might be Perennial (official and/or live at Wacken, both are must-see), Teacher Teacher (official), Judgement & Punishment (official and/or Tatiana's one take performance, again both must-see), Pit of Consciousness (official and/or live in Kiev/Kyiv, a third where both are absolutely must-see) or the heartwrenching plea against war in Home Back (official video). Note that because Jinjer has so many great official videos and so many astounding live performance videos, no Jinjer fan will ever mind if you react to a second video for a Jinjer song you've already heard, so whichever songs you choose, whatever pace you like: hope you'll keep trying more Jinjer and enjoy! ❤🖤🤘

Tatiana is a jazz singer. Vlad (drums) is a classical pianist, Roman (guitar) and Eugene (bass) are self taught. They all play different styles and it shows in their music. You'll catch jazz, hip-hop, rap, reggae and pop all mixed into metal core.

She is a beauty and a beast and the musicians ability to flow with her is incredible.
Also Perennial live at Wacken and Judgment and Punishment Tatiana one take vocal performance has a great vibe. All totally worth it. It doesn't ruin anything to have the lyrics to reference during your reactions. Essentially when your not use to grawl lyrics.

It's actually quite hard to sing like that. Especially going from growls to clean vocals without messing up your voice. It takes a lot of technique engaging your false vocal folds. It's not the actual vocal chords making the growl, it's above them in the throat.
