We're blessed with some of the world's best fishing here in NC and all, but damn if that don't make someone wanna become an ex-pat in Central America....... Nice, brother.
Basically my thoughts as well! The other thing that stood out to me is how much milder the wind was for a week! So much more quality time on the water available. Consider getting two to three days of wind that cooperates to be decent in NC.

The big mackerel was a Spanish not a Cero. Spanish have the spots, Cero more of a solid lateral line.

Yeah I’m not a fish biologist or anything but, i’ve been catching both Spanish and cero here in Florida for many many years. Shore looks like a Spanish to me. Cero have dash’s more than dots.
