P_E1994 - atfirst, I did not like how Taylor said she wasn't okay with the Kanye when he talked about her in her song and Kim exposed her. However..overtime I did notice little things about it that kinda shifted me towards Taylor's side though. Kim recording the phone call was kind of sketchy. Also, it is true he did not mention to Taylor he'd call her a B*tch in the song but he did. That's really the only time I've ever really hated her.

it's funny that people are agreeing that the old Taylor Swift is dead because for me I feel that although her sound and this album is very different, I almost feel like she has gone back to her songwriting roots and has gone back to being more honest and authentic as herself like she was in the beginning. I love most of her music and she is a drop dead amazing songwriter but I did start to feel that her last album felt a bit too generic( less personality) maybe to appeal to a wider demographic and to not offend anyone now that she was so mainstream.
that is why I love this album, she has grown up more and no longer seems to be people pleasing. she has her own opinions and she is human and that is totally ok. if someone hurts her, she has a right to call them out on it.

I really think that "Reputation" is the Album which will make the haters listen and liking Taylor. Its the mainkey to the Antifans.
And for the Fans its important what the story behind the lyrics. At the end of the day the most important for the artists are the numbers and the sales and I think that this album is making big numbers.
I really listen to the songs but there is one song "don't blame me" that sounds so "Banks". And I also hear a lot of "Lorde" in Reputation Album. No shade at this point.

My reactions to these songs (alone with headphones, away from my kids FINALLY, for an hour) were VERY similar to yours 😂 I love her so much! Her stories are so amazing, even if you can’t relate on a personal level, her ability to narrate her life experiences through song and include the listener in the narrative is something no other solo artist I enjoy has ever been able to do (for me anyway). Isn’t that nuts!?! I feel, listening to her, like I just get her. And every album that comes out is my favorite album of hers, so far! Every time!

Sorry, but I am reading a more recent, updated article on Taylor Swift. According to it, she is still a virgin, although rumor has it she is contemplating changing that with someone she thinks is the one. The article stated that although she has wait so long and it is the reason for the demise of her relationships, she never really planned to wait for marriage. Sources say she wanted to wait until she has found the right one for her.
There were rumors she lost it to Jake Gyllenhaal, but he shut that rumor down. Then there were rumors circulating that she said Calvin Harris was the one, but that wasn't true either. The only thing that is true is the reason her relationships don't last is because she refuses to capitulate to these men who obviously only want bragging rights!
Moreover, I also heard her say in an interview that her songs are not always about her. She says since she is so close to her fans, she writes about situations that people go through every day because she always gets and/or reads stories about her fans and how her songs inspire them. Taylor knows she is a huge role model for a plethora of young fans. Thus, she is not going to be careless about her decisions. What I see in this young lady is a new kind of activism; it's no longer about her, she writes for her fans! Her loyalty is to her fans!

I really like the album. I'm torn choosing a favorite song, but Getaway Car actually makes me sad. I guess cause I read the GQ article interview where Tom Hiddleston admitted to being kinda tortured in confusion about his break-up with Swift. He literally pestered the author of the article with his confusion...showing up to the author's hotel room the next day to talk more about it. Getaway Car isn't the most sensitive response to Tom's interview. "The ties were black, the lies were white"... she met Tom at the MET Gala (black tie event) while still dating Calvin Harris. Hence, "He was coming after us, and I was screaming 'Go! Go! Go!" Tom was driving the Getaway Car from Harris (who'd poisoned the well), and her response to Hiddleston's broken heart was "Don't pretend it's such a mystery... remember where you first met me." and "I struck a match and blew your mind. But I didn't mean it." I don't know... it makes feel kinda sad for Tom cause the guy really was heartbroken.
