Placing Ceramic tiles on the kitchen wall v.s plastic tiles.

Some time ago I place plastic/rubber tiles on the kitchen wall, that turned out to be a big mistake. Now, I am replacing them in this video with the real thing. You will see how to place tiles on a wall

Is there a reason (like better to plug in appliences) why the sockets are rotated 90° 29:44 ?
