This is a 14 guitar solos collection, recorded live at the Palladium (New York), 28 October 1977. You can find all these solos in their exalting original context in the new "Halloween 77" official box set. I hope this collection will encourage all fans to buy the official box. It's worth it! It is a well of gems!
Oh I have it already, still listen to Frank quite often... minus the acid. Couple beers do it for me now, or Canadian Club when I decide to splurge on imported whisky... only the best will do honor to Zappa 😎
I was at this show. Frank was his genius self. Great night. Funny story. I went to this concert with a good friend. We both did Acid about an hour before the show. We get in the Palladium and an usher takes us to the seats. The Palladium was a real dirty dump , but a great place to see concerts. We get to the row where our seats were and the usher points the flashlight at the seats in the middle of the row. My buddy wasnt a skinny guy, so he starts squeezing towards the seats. About half way he stops. The usher tells him keep going. My friend says " I can't ". The guy says what do you mean you can't ? Again.... " I can't ". I'm cracking up ...I don't know what's going on...but it seemed funny. The guy asked him.." Is there something wrong with you "? Now I'm really cracking up laughing. My friend says .." I can't move, someone is holding my ankles " ! I'm almost in the floor. The place was so disgustingly dirty, there was old dried up sticky soda on floor and his sneakers were sticking to it...plus the acid. The guy told me to get in there and sit him down. Lol...
I believe I was there in 77 the New York palladium when Zapp got on stage there was nobody sitting down front so he asked if anybody wanted to get to the front just move to the front there's nobody sitting there and we did was this the same concert
This is just an AMAZING set. I like Zappas albums a lot, but I LOVE his bootlegged jams. I know he hated the bootlegging, but his live stuff was when it was most real. He really spoke and screamed and vocalised via the guitar, but used his mouth to talk logically. You are doing a public service by uploading.

@@smokinghotbagnahmeentastey3300 As far as I'm concerned, about Zappa, I don't know the meaning of "doubt". My theory is that the man was an alien loaded with thousands of years of musical evolution sent here to help us find a cure for the hideous DISCO-19 virus lest it migrates to his planet where its inhabitants were not immune to it, possibly causing a pandemic of ridicule. 😉
man these live sessions are phenominal. zappa made me pick up guitar, expand my musical horzion and now all of these live recordings are becoming my favorite go-tos. there's no going back haha
Excellent timing, seeing Project Object with Denny Walley and Napoleon Murphy Brock tonight the 22nd and Dweezil Zappa on the 24th.Never too much live Zappa music, and I won't miss any chances when bands playing thus great music comes to my area. You inspire me with these uploads. Thanks as always
I saw Dweezil the first time in Kent, Ohio then heard about the Project/Object show the next day in Cleveland by hearsay. Love how my life lined up and I ended up smoking with Napoleon and some friends after the show. Blew my mind that I kicked it with one of my favorite guys who shared the stage with Frank. I'm only 28 now btw.

I think one of the biggest things about FZ that is not mentioned is discipline, everything from his playing to his bands to even crowd control he was very disciplined with everything had to be right.I saw him once stop a show twice to get everyone in front to go back to their seats and the same show he stopped again because a fight broke out right next to me I was in the front row and people threw hats on the stage which he would put on and then through back to the audience and two guys fought over one hat and he stopped the show and made them stop fighting. I also heard he would change song line ups at a drop of a hat and his band was expected to be able to play what ever songs he wanted.
