For all those Christians who dismiss these as textual contradictions, remember that you claim that your religion is supposed to be so divinely inspired that your "God" was guiding the speech of all your prophets and your "God" was guiding the hands of all your authors. So you contradict yourselves. Your "God" was imperfect then, because he messed up, more than once. Your religion claims to be the absolute word of an infallible "God", and so if it doesn't stand up to scrutiny in any respect, it falls apart through the standard that you yourselves give it.

The biggest contradiction of all is "hell" which was never mentioned in the Old Testament. The Bible never says the penalty for sin ever changed from death to "hell." All the translations of Sheol and Hades as "hell" are mistranslations and such mistranslations have been removed from the more accurate versions of the Bible. Even conservative Bible scholars agree about this. There is no "hell" in the OT of the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB) commissioned by the famously literal Southern Baptist Convention. There is no "hell" in the OT or NT of the newest Bible of the Roman Catholic Church. But if there no hell, what are Christians being saved from?

I can explain #3. Im not the most knowledgeable christian, so this is the one I can answer best. Acts talks about the state Judas’ body was when he was found. The branch probably snapped and depending on how long he was dead for, his body was super bloated and popped like a balloon when the branch he was hanging from snapped. Matthew mentions how he died, Acts mentions the state his body was in when found.

    1. Heli is listed as the father of Joseph, who had 2 daughters. The first is Mary, and the other was Zebedee’s unnamed wife (Matthew 27:56; John 19:25). When there were no sons to preserve the inheritance in accordance with the Law of Moses (Numbers 27:1-11; Numbers 36:1-12), the husband would become the son upon marriage to keep up the family name. Therefore, Joseph, when he married Mary, became the son of Heli according to the Law of Moses and could legally be included in the genealogy

Even if this was true, which is made up to try to solve this clear contradiction because both genealogies end with Joseph, it does not explain the other contradictions on the birth of Jesus. Then when you go to the resurrection you have four different versions and this is supposed to be the greatest event in Christian mythology. There are contradictions during the creation, Noah’s flood or divine megagenocide. Kings vs Chronicles are very often contradicting each other. Let’s not forget the endorsement of slavery, the misogyny, the killing of innocent babies and children through numerous parts of the Old Testament. The deity of the Bible is an angry, jealous, murderous, genocidal psychopath who kills more people than any other character in human literature.

When I read “The Brief History of Time” by Stephen Hawkings the first time, I didn’t understand a lot of things. But I didn’t immediately conclude that there are stupid things in that book. On the contrary, I read and re-read it several times and things got clarified in my mind.
Same goes with the Bible. People read it once and immediately jump to conclusion that there are innumerable contradictions in it. A clear reading or re-reading will clarify many things!
Contradiction # 10:- Matthew 1:16, the original Greek text says, “Jacob then begat (egennesen) Joseph, the husband of Mary…….” It is crystal clear from this passage that Jacob was the “biological” father of Joseph!
Luke 3:23, the Greek says, “Jesus………. being son, as was supposed, of Joseph OF HELI”. Here, it does NOT say that Heli begat Joseph!!!! Simply, it says, Joseph was “of Heli”. Now Joseph can become of Heli through adoption or by becoming the son-in-law!!!!!!!
Contradiction # 9:- You mentioned 3 references; Matthew 28:8, Luke 24:9 and Mark 16:8. According to you there is no contradiction between Matthew and Luke. The contradiction is between them together on one hand and Mark on the other. Luke says, “having returned”, they told the news to the disciples. Mark simply says, they fled from the tomb (not yet returned; they are still on their way back) with fear. I understand it (with common sense) that on their way home they didn’t talk to anyone EXCEPT the disciples and that too after they reached their place!!!
Besides, Mark 16:7 (just the previous verse) says that the angel instructs the ladies specifically to ‘go and tell this wonderful news to the disciples’!!!!!!
Contradiction # 8:- There are 2 things here that will dispel the apparent contradiction; 1. No one has ever seen God the Father. Whom Moses saw was God the Son!; 2. Besides, no one can see God in His full glory. Even the God whom Moses saw warned him, “You cannot see My face, for no one can see My face and live” (Exodus 33:20). Abraham saw God in human form!!!

      76. When Jesus entered Capernaum he healed the slave of a centurion. Did the centurion come personally to request Jesus for this?

No. He sent some elders of the Jews and his friends (Luke 7:3,6)
      77.
Adam was told that if and when he eats the forbidden fruit he would die the same day (Genesis 2:17)
Adam ate the fruit and went on to live to a ripe old age of 930 years (Genesis 5:5)
      78.
God decided that the life-span of humans will be limited to 120 years (Genesis 6:3)
Many people born after that lived longer than 120. Arpachshad lived 438 years. His son Shelah lived 433 years. His son Eber lived 464 years, etc. (Genesis 11:12-16)
      79. Apart from Jesus did anyone else ascend to heaven?
      No (John 3:13)
Yes. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven (2 Kings 2:11)
      80. Who was high priest when David went into the house of God and ate the consecrated bread?
      Abiathar (Mark 2:26)
Ahimelech, the father of Abiathar (I Samuel 1:1; 22:20)
      81. Was Jesus body wrapped in spices before burial in accordance with Jewish burial customs?
Yes and his female disciples witnessed his burial (John 19:39-40)
No. Jesus was simply wrapped in a linen shroud. Then the women bought and prepared spices so that they may go and anoint him [Jesus) (Mark 16: 1)
      82. When did the women buy the spices?
After the Sabbath was past (Mark 16:1)
Before the Sabbath. The women prepared spices and ointments. Then, on the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment (Luke 23:55 to 24:1)
      83. At what time of day did the women visit the tomb?

To anoint Jesus body with spices (Mark 16: 1; Luke 23:55 to 24: 1)
To see the tomb. Nothing about spices here (Matthew 28: 1)
For no specified reason. In this gospel the wrapping with spices had been done before the Sabbath (John 20: 1)
      85. A large stone was placed at the entrance of the tomb. Where was the stone when the women arrived?
They saw that the stone was Rolled back (Mark 16:4) They found the stone rolled away from the tomb (Luke 24:2) They saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb (John 20:1)
As the women approached, an angel descended from heaven, rolled away the stone, and conversed with the women. Matthew made the women witness the spectacular rolling away of the stone (Matthew 28:1-6)
      86. Did anyone tell the women what happened to Jesus body?
Yes. A young man in a white robe (Mark 16:5). Two men ... in dazzling apparel later described as angels (Luke 24:4 and 24:23). An angel - the one who rolled back the stone (Matthew 16:2). In each case the women were told that Jesus had risen from the dead (Matthew 28:7; Mark 16:6; Luke 24:5 footnote)
No. Mary met no one and returned saying, They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him (John 20:2)
      87. When did Mary Magdelene first meet the resurrected Jesus? And how did she react?
Mary and the other women met Jesus on their way back from their first and only visit to the tomb. They took hold of his feet and worshipped him (Matthew 28:9)
On her second visit to the tomb Mary met Jesus just outside the tomb. When she saw Jesus she did not recognize him. She mistook him for the gardener. She still thinks that Jesus body is laid to rest somewhere and she demands to know where. But when Jesus said her name she at once recognized him and called him Teacher. Jesus said to her, Do not hold me... (John 20:11 to 17)
      88. What was Jesus instruction for his disciples?
Tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see me (Matthew 2 8: 10)
Go to my brethren and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God (John 20:17)
      89. When did the disciples return to Galilee?
Immediately, because when they saw Jesus in Galilee some doubted (Matthew 28:17). This period of uncertainty should not persist
After at least 40 days. That evening the disciples were still in Jerusalem (Luke 24:3 3). Jesus appeared to them there and told them, stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high (Luke 24:49). He was appearing to them during forty days (Acts 1:3), and charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise ... (Acts 1:4)
      90. To whom did the Midianites sell Joseph?
      To the Ishmaelites (Genesis 37:28)
To Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh (Genesis 37:36)
      91. Who brought Joseph to Egypt?
The Ishmaelites bought Joseph and then took Joseph to Egypt (Genesis 37:28)
The Midianites had sold him in Egypt (Genesis 37:36)
Joseph said to his brothers I am your brother, Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt (Genesis 45:4)
      92. Does God change his mind?
Yes. The word of the Lord came to Samuel: I repent that I have made Saul King... (I Samuel 15:10 to 11)
No. God will not lie or repent; for he is not a man, that he should repent (I Samuel 15:29)
Yes. And the Lord repented that he had made Saul King over Israel (I Samuel 15:35). Notice that the above three quotes are all from the same chapter of the same book! In addition, the Bible shows that God repented on several other occasions:
      i. The Lord was sorry that he made man (Genesis 6:6)
I am sorry that I have made them (Genesis 6:7)
ii. And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do to his people (Exodus 32:14).
iii. (Lots of other such references).
      93. The Bible says that for each miracle Moses and Aaron demonstrated the magicians did the same by their secret arts. Then comes the following feat:
Moses and Aaron converted all the available water into blood (Exodus 7:20-21)
The magicians did the same (Exodus 7:22). This is impossible, since there would have been no water left to convert into blood.
      94. Who killed Goliath?
      David (I Samuel 17:23, 50)
      Elhanan (2 Samuel 21:19)
      95. Who killed Saul?
Saul took his own sword and fell upon it.... Thus Saul died... (I Samuel 31:4-6)
An Amalekite slew him (2 Samuel 1:1- 16)
      96. Does every man sin?
Yes. There is no man who does not sin (I Kings 8:46; see also 2 Chronicles 6:36; Proverbs 20:9; Ecclesiastes 7:20; and I John 1:810)
No. True Christians cannot possibly sin, because they are the children of God. Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God.. (I John 5:1). We should be called children of God; and so we are (I John 3: 1). He who loves is born of God (I John 4:7). No one born of God commits sin; for Gods nature abides in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God (I John 3:9). But, then again, Yes! If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (I John 1:8)
      97. Who will bear whose burden?
Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2)
Each man will have to bear his own load (Galatians 6:5)
      98. How many disciples did Jesus appear to after his resurrection?
      Twelve (I Corinthians 15:5)
Eleven (Matthew 27:3-5 and Acts 1:9-26, see also Matthew 28:16; Mark 16:14 footnote; Luke 24:9; Luke 24:3 3)
      99. Where was Jesus three days after his baptism?
After his baptism, the spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness. And he was in the wilderness forty days ... (Mark 1:12-13)
Next day after the baptism, Jesus selected two disciples. Second day: Jesus went to Galilee - two more disciples. Third day: Jesus was at a wedding feast in Cana in Galilee (see John 1:35; 1:43; 2:1-11)
      100. Was baby Jesus life threatened in Jerusalem?
Yes, so Joseph fled with him to Egypt and stayed there until Herod died (Matthew 2:13 23)
No. The family fled nowhere. They calmly presented the child at the Jerusalem temple according to the Jewish customs and returned to Galilee (Luke 2:21-40)
      101. When Jesus walked on water how did the disciples respond?
They worshipped him, saying, Truly you are the Son of God (Matthew 14:33)
They were utterly astounded, for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened (Mark 6:51-52).

1 kings 22 verse 23 is a punishment God has given. Also the verse before this talks about a spirit standing before God and asking to go out and be a lying spirit in the prophets. This segment is similar to what happened in job when Satan stood before job and asked if he could test Job. This spirit is Satan and is asking God for permission to act. Man was never meant to walk in sin. But if man chooses to walk in it then so be it. Reap the consequences too.

Yeah, I love the Book of Job. It shows a lot about God's character. God has Job tortured and his children and servants all killed, just so he can show off to Satan how devoted Job is. God is shallow, vain and callous... the same characteristics He displays in the rest of the Old Testament. Search for the video by DarkMatter2525 on "The Book of Job" to really understand what it is saying.

I’ve known about these apparent contradictions for decades, and has this not shaken my faith in the risen Lord Jesus, one iota. There is a whole theological discipline, dedicated to textual criticism and it is actually quite fascinating. The Bible is not the book of Mormon descended on gold tablets neither is it the Quran that is supposedly and erroneously stated to have been magically, dictated by God. Apostles and prophets were inspired by the Holy Spirit with inerrant thoughts to communicate the mind of God. These were men who wrote down what God showed them. Their education, their culture, their personalities etc. all weighed into the writing of scripture. They communicated without error the very thoughts of God. This does not mean that in some sort of anal retentive process they never missed putting a comma in or did not er in some sort of grammatical exact syntax. The question is is what the Bible saying true. And the answer is emphatically. Yes! Let’s turn from our sin to Jesus! He and the scriptures can be completely trusted! Don’t let facile arguments and sophistry keep you from faith in God through Christ!

For one of the contradictions, do you mean that no one has seen God's face or glorified form? Correct, Moses saw God's glory, but the Lord had to cover Himself with a fog. I'm pretty sure it says He ran across so that He only allowed Moses to see His back, or he would die. He did talk to Moses in many forms, like a bush, and talked to him face to face during those times. Jacob wrestles with a man, I think was Jesus prior to being born of Mary, and he says 'Bless me.' He states in Genesis 32:30 'I have seen God face to face,' but again, Jesus is part of the Trinity, so He has always been around, equal to the Father and the Spirit. Even when the first human was created, He states, 'Let's make man in OUR image.' Again, what's your purpose trying to lead people astray for? What goal should you ask yourself? For likes?

Read the Bible, not to nullify it, but to get a relationship with the One and Only God, Adonai! Then, will you understand the scriptures, and see there is no Contradictions in God's Word. Besides if I read my Bible(1611-KJV) and compared it to The Message or NIV, NLT ect. I would see many flaws.

To explain the face to face “contradiction” it’s not says God and Moses were face to face rather it implies how close they were for instance we all probably have a friend or someone that when we need to tell something we can directly talk to them via text, call, or whatever method, we don’t have to use a third party. In this case Moses would receive information directly from God but Israel didn’t they had to receive the message from Moses hence they didn’t speak with God face to face like Moses, Israel needed a third party unlike Moses.

Judas hanged himself in the potter’s field (Matthew 27:5), and that is how he died. Then, after his body had begun to decay and bloat, the rope broke, or the branch of the tree he was using broke, and his body fell, bursting open on the land of the potter’s field (Acts 1:18-19). Note that Luke does not say that Judas died from the fall, only that his body fell. The Acts passage presumes Judas’s hanging, as a man falling down in a field does not normally result in his body bursting open. Only decomposition and a fall from a height could cause a body to burst open. So Matthew mentions the actual cause of death, and Luke focuses more on the horror surrounding it.

      John 15:12-17
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit-fruit that will last-and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other”
      "Love each another".
After speaking of love, Jesus deals with the hatred of those who reject the Word of God and who reject his disciples. He foretells that the world will hate and persecute Christians just as it hated and persecuted Himself. The world will be hostile to Jesus and consequently it will also hate those who live in his teaching.
Jesus therefore gives another teaching: the tribulations and persecutions to which they will be subject must not frighten them since they, strong in their faith, know that Christ, who has conquered the world, is in them. Jesus' friends are not left alone in persecutions and painful circumstances: they must know that the Defender will be beside them, the Spirit of truth who gave witness to Jesus, will also give it to them. But even the disciples living the very life of Christ will be an uninterrupted witness of his works. In fact, the Spirit, sent by the Father through the Son, will be the "soul" of the Church.
Jesus said: You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church.

    9: The tomb:
All of the details happened but at different times:
MT 28:1 The first visitors to the tomb were Mary Magdalene and the other Mary (two).
MK 16:1 Both of the above plus Salome (three).
LK 23:55 - 24:1, 24:10 Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and “other women” (at least five).
JN 20:1 Mary Magdalene only (one).
Matthew, naming the two Mary's, does not say they were the only women in the group. Mark and Luke do not contradict Matthew, but add more detail to the list. In JN 20:1, Mary Magdalene returned later by herself.
MT 28:1-18 The order of Resurrection appearances was: Mary Magdalene and the other Mary, then the eleven.
MK 16:9-14 It was Mary Magdalene, then two others, then the eleven.
LK 24:15-36 It was two, then Simon (Peter?), then the eleven.
JN 20:14 - 21:1 It was Mary Magdalene, then the disciples without Thomas, then the disciples with Thomas, then the eleven disciples again.
1CO 15:5-8 It was Cephas (Peter?), then the “twelve” (which twelve, Judas was dead?), then 500+ brethren (although AC 1:15 says there were only about 120), then James, then all the Apostles, then Paul.
These are separate appearances, and not an accurate "order of appearances" The actual order of the Resurrection, harmonizing all scripture, is as follows:
    1) Mary alone: Jn 20:16
    2) Other women Mt 28:9
    3) The disciples Luke 24:13-30
    4) Peter Luke 24:34
    5) Thomas Luke 24:36
    6) The disciples again Jn 24:19
    7) Disciples again Jn 24:20-29
    8)Peter Jn 21
    9) To 500 1 Cor 15:6
    10) James 1Cor 15:7
    11)The disciples Mt 28:16
    12) The disciples (the great commission) Lk 24:50-53
Also note: Judas had been replaced, so Jesus still appeared to 12 disciples
MT 28:1 It was toward dawn when they arrived.
MK 16:2 It was after sunrise.
LK 24:1 It was at early dawn.
JN 20:1 It was still dark.
Jn 20 says it was dark when Mary left, not dark when she arrived. It was obviously sunrise by the time she and the other women arrived.
MT 28:1-2 The stone was still in place when they arrived. It was rolled away later.
MK 16:4, LK 24:2, JN 20:1 The stone had already been rolled (or taken) away.
Matthew does not say the stone was in place when the women arrived. In verse one "they went" to the tomb. The women are not mentioned as being at the tomb until verse five (after it was opened in verse two).
MT 28:2 An angel arrived during an earthquake, rolled back the stone, then sat on it (outside the tomb).
MK 16:5 No earthquake, only one young man sitting inside the tomb.
LK 24:2-4 No earthquake. Two men suddenly appear standing inside the tomb.
JN 20:12 No earthquake. Two angels are sitting inside the tomb.
All these events happened, and they are all easily harmonized by adding them together. John's omission of an earthquake does not preclude it from happening, or constitute a contradiction.
8: No one has seen God
-No one has seen God the Father, but God the Son has appeared many times throughout the Old and New Testament. Terms such as “Lord” and “God” were totally appropriate.

There are NO contradictions in Gods Word contained in the Holy Bible. Most people will follow just about anything that will give them some sort of false, "self" satisfaction that tickles their feelings about the Bible because they don't want to embrace the truth. Masses of people are following this trend of believing that Gods Word in the Bible has many contradictions. Of course they all need to rely on their own understanding to think so. No one who truly believes in JESUS and follows Him will tell you there are contradictions. Not 1. Because no one who truly follows JESUS relies on their own understanding to read, study, examine and meditate on Gods Word. Most people are going todo just like it is written. They will reject JESUS, and therefore reject the Truth. Once you reject the Truth you can't be made free. To see that there really is no true contradiction in the Bible one would need to be a humble disciple of JESUS, one who learns to walk by faith and not by sight.

    10. It was traced through different sons of David. Matthew's genealogy is based on David's son, Solomon. And Luke is based on David's son Nathan. But i would guess Luke follows the legal lineage, and Matthew follows the biological.
    9. The women were at first afraid but then told them. Like, Mark 16:11 strongly implies they were first afraid but then told it. That is simply an out of context argument.
    8. So that there technically proves the trinity in my opinion. 1 Timothy 3:16 explains it. It says God came in the flesh. Therefore you can see him as he came in the flesh. Simple.
    7. It was a generational curse on Israel, because they disobeyed God by commiting idolatry. And when Israel repented, the curse was broken(judges 3:9, 15, 1 Samuel 12:10-11 etc.)
    6. That was the Prophet Micaiah rebuking the false prophets of the king because they were telling what the king wants them to tell, that he will win the war against Ramoth Gilead. What Micaiah was doing was actually spreading the truth.
    5. 2 Chronicles would likely record Jehoiachin when he was appointed co-regent with his father, and that 2 kings records Jehoiachin age when his father died and he became king in his own right. That is entirely possible as David appointed Solomon as king when he was still alive, (1 kings 1:33-40).
    4. John describes an earlier visit of Mary Magdalene.
    3. That is Judas' dead body. His intestines spilled on the valley, because he hanged on a valley. That's why the valley is called akeldama, the field of blood. His body decayed, the rope broke, he fell on the ground as he bloated, and bursting open. Whether you still don't wanna believe me, this is it.
    2. So you're question is, how can he fit all the animals in the Ark? Well the Ark was a very big ship. According to an Article, there were 3,858,920 animals. The story of Noah and the Ark was pretty early in time, so they're might've not been a lot of animals back then. As we see only about 3 million. BUT some estimates put it only in the thousands. People guess the 2000 to 50000 could've fit in the Ark, and we possibly might not be able to know how much. But whatever it is, with God nothing is impossible.
    1. That probably refers to Merab, Michal's sister. Most likely a COPYIST error. Even if some of this were to be right, it would pose no threat to the bible as those are minor differences.

How can you trust the bible then? Well the entire bible repeatedly explains it’s doctrine. It’s not like the entire message of the bible relies on 1 verse, and that that 1 verse could’ve been changed due to error, thus the bible resulting in an entirely different message than intended. You would need to make numerous errors in practically every single book of the bible to end up with an entirely different message. Is that really plausible?

10: There are actually a couple of possible answers I found in under a minute. First, is that there is no word in Koine Greek(what the NT is written in) for son-in-law, therefore, one can still be the line of Mary. The other possibility is that, in Jewish law, if a man dies without having any children, his brother takes his wife and the first child is named the son of the one who died. Considering the different audiences the authors were writing to, it would make sense for Matthew(writing to Jews) to use the dead brother as the father and Luke(writing to Gentiles) to use the actual. It was also common to skip generations.
9: Again, a couple theories here. So, it is often thought that everything after Mark 16:9 is a later addition. But, if we cut it off there, Mark is writing different than usual, as any other time he used an absolute statement, he followed it up with an exception(no, don't have the examples with me, sorry). So, it is possible there is an extension different than what we have that is lost. The other is that, initially, no. They said nothing. But, they did get enough courage to say something later.
8: So, this is gonna use two big words: Theophany and Christophany. Basically, they are OT appearances of God and Christ, respectively, in human forms. These conceal the full glory of God. These include the Abraham verse, Jacob wrestling with God, Samson's parents. Then, with Moses, face-to-face is a figure of speech, as God even says to Moses, that no man can see His face.
7: The phrase "to the third and fourth generation" is a Jewish idiom. Basically, what it is saying is "The Lord will punish Israel for as long as it takes for them to return to Him."
6: The simplest answer is this: God will allow bad things, without necessarily condoning them. Especially if they bring about His purposes. The lying spirit was allowed by God, but not directly put there by God. OT rarely(if ever) put a distinction between what God does and what God allowed.
5: A copyist error(finally). The difference between 8 and 18 in Hebrew is a simple mark. Easy to do.
4: One talks of when they left, the other of when they arrived.
3: So, the field was bought in Judas' name with the money. Judas did hang himself. Since he did it on a Sabbath, they wouldn't take him down, meaning he hung there all day. Have you seen what happens to a dead animal when it is out in the sun all day? When it gets hit with force, it'll burst open. So, when they cut Judas down, he ended up going head-first, hitting the ground hard, and spilled his guts. Considering Acts was written by Luke(a doctor) of course he'd mention it.
2: Genesis 7 is supplemental. The article I read gave the example of a farmer telling his son to take two of every animal to the state fair, then adding on to take several more chickens and two extra pigs.
1: Another copyist error. In older texts, we see it is Merab. On top of this, the Book of 2 Samuel even states who the father of the 5 sons were. Do you really think a king would have stood for his wife sleeping with her sister's husband?

People will try so hard to excuse these contradictions, and I used to be one of them. Here’s the thing: I’m also a writer. As I’m writing, I’m constantly keeping in mind what I’ve written before, and making sure it agrees with what I’m writing now. And if it doesn’t, I work an explanation in there somewhere. Because the first thing, the VERY FIRST THING, that writing needs to be, is coherent and understandable. That’s for fiction written by a human author. Why didn’t God do the same when he was writing the Bible? He’s perfect, right? There should be NO contradictions. If God meant that one of Jesus’s genealogies would go through Joseph and the other through Mary, why do both say they go through Joseph? If Judas tried to hang himself but the rope broke and he died on the rocks, why doesn’t at least one account specify that chain of events? (Also did he keep the silver and buy the field with it, or cast it at the feet of the Pharisees?) Apologists can clear up contradictions all they want, but the fact that contradictions exist AT ALL in a Book written by an omnipotent author that’s supposed to be the key to the SALVATION OF OUR FLIPPING SOULS should be a HUGE red flag. Can you imagine getting out the manual for an appliance and it having contradictions? “Oh, clearly the author meant …” No. Clearly the author has no idea what they’re doing. Same with God. Either He’s one of the crappiest authors of all time, constantly losing the narrative and unable to remember fine details (sometimes from just a few verses earlier), or He doesn’t exist and the Bible was written by humans. Take your pick.

While people are trying to excuse these contradictions Jesus deliberately spoke in parables to obscure the truth from the Jews... The problem lies with the established view that truth is absolute and the bible is God's word when the bible itself admits the Jesus himself is the Word of God. Can God be truly represented in the pages of a book? Can we truly comprehend God as men who science and scripture confirms only uses less than 3% of his brain?
Debating God's accuracy from the bible alone is deception and denounces the meaning of GOD.. that is God because he is beyond man's comprehension anyways.. I have just found over 20 contradictions in the concepts and doctrines taught in the bible and that is what led me here , but on the other hand, prophesy and personal experiences overules all apparent contradictions and allows a person who believes in God to joyfully and confidently continue believing ...

      Absolutely, thank you.
      Oh, I agree 100%.
However, there's a difference between changing the words of God to match what you believe it says, and restoration by direction from God Himself.
One is not like the other.
During the dark ages (the first falling away), beginning around 70AD, there were little to no words of God, because of the wickedness of the people,
This was mentioned in Scripture beginning in Acts 20:28-30,
"Take heed, therefore, unto yourselves and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also, of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after them."
During the dark ages, many things were changed from Scriptures to match only what a few people interpreted it to say, instead of asking of God.
Many important things to draw us closer to God, were lost.
But the dark ages ended when a certain man, seeing the differences between churches, prayed asking God to show him which of these churches he should join? And God explained to him to not join any of them, because they have put their own interpretation on God's word, which were incorrect.
Many of them were still saved in the Kingdom of God, but their Scriptures were lacking from the things removed during the dark ages.
      Things such as the following:
      1. It says in Matthew 5, "Blessed are the poor in spirit." Wait a minute. Blessed are those in the dark ages who are poor, because they had little to no words of God, or because they had little to no Spirit of God? Is that what it's saying? But the Inspired Version shows that Jesus actually said, "blessed are the poor in spirit, who come unto me;" Now, that makes more sense! That last part was removed. It's about decreasing and becoming poor in our spirit and turning to Jesus.
      2. 1 Corinthians 2:11 in the KJV says, "For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God." But the Inspired Version says, "For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, except he has the Spirit of God." Which do you believe is correct? Do you believe "no man" knows the things of God? Probably so for many in the dark ages, but that's not true for today.
      3. Should women not be allowed to talk at all in the church or should women not be allowed to rule in the church? KJV Genesis 1:16 "he shall rule over thee." So, which of the following is correct? KJV 1 Corinthians 14:34 "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak;" Or the Inspired Version which says, "Let your women keep silence in the churches; for it is not permitted unto them to rule;" Take into account that it is of God to share our testimonies and to share the Gospel in church, but for women not to do these things by speaking, how then would that be of God? Should men be allowed but not women to share testimonies of Jesus?
      4. Or how about this one: The KJV says, Psalm 12:5 "For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy." But the Inspired Version says, "Therefore, thus saith the Lord, I will arise in that day, I will stand upon the earth, and I will judge the earth for the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy; and their cry hath entered into mine ear." Which to you is more Authoritative and clear?
Today, there are still many Bible versions being printed, like the Jefferson Version which you shared, which have many things removed from Scripture, and in some cases, thousands of verses.
The Inspired Version brings Scriptural clarity and Authority to the text, which can only come from God. None of these other translations have that. Not even the KJV.

@@theriveroffaith852 Jefferson's worldview was heavily influenced by the scientific enlightenment. He kept the original words of the Bible but simply edited out supernatural or miraculous references. So his account of Jesus's death simply reads from John as follows:
"Now, in the place where He was crucified, there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Jesus. And rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed."
The point is any one can and did edit the Bible over time. Many other Gospels of Jesus existed in the ancient world but were selected OUT OF the Bible by human beings at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD.

      i)the clean once &
      ¡¡)the uncleaned ones
The cleaned once are like sheeps, goats, cow e.t.c (the ones that are healthy to us to eat naturally)
& The unclean once like pigs, snakes, lions(the ones that are unhealthy to us to eat naturally )
the unclean ones are forbidden according to the Bible Leviticus 11 so we mustn't eat them(its a law & also an advice from God to us)
So noah taking 7 cleans & only taking 2 from the unclean is that
from the 7 onse the 5 are for food & the two are for seed
but for the unclean ones only two & the two are for seed since They cant be eaten only two is enough

    1 contradiction explained:
Jesus's genealogy is given in two places in Scripture: Matthew 1 and Luke 3:23-38. Matthew traces the genealogy from Jesus to Abraham. Luke traces the genealogy from Jesus to Adam. However, there is good reason to believe that Matthew and Luke are in fact tracing entirely different genealogies. For example, Matthew gives Joseph’s father as Jacob (Matthew 1:16), while Luke gives Joseph’s father as Heli (Luke 3:23). Matthew traces the line through David’s son Solomon (Matthew 1:6), while Luke traces the line through David’s son Nathan (Luke 3:31). In fact, between David and Jesus, the only names the genealogies have in common are Shealtiel and Zerubbabel (Matthew 1:12; Luke 3:27).
from David through Jesus, the genealogies are completely different. Even the reference to Shealtiel and Zerubbabel likely refer to different individuals of the same names.
Matthew gives Shealtiel’s father as Jeconiah while Luke gives Shealtiel’s father as Neri. It would be normal for a man named Shealtiel to name his son Zerubbabel in light of the famous individuals of those names
Matthew is tracing the primary, or biological, lineage while Luke is taking into account an occurrence of “levirate marriage.” If a man died without having any sons, it was tradition for the man’s brother to marry the widow and have a son who would carry on the deceased man’s name. According to Eusebius’s theory,Melchi (Luke 3:24) and Matthan (Matthew 1:15) were married at different times to the same woman (tradition names her Estha).
This would make Heli (Luke 3:23) and Jacob (Matthew 1:15) half-brothers.Heli then died without a son, and so his (half-)brother Jacob married Heli’s widow, who gave birth to Joseph. This would make Joseph the “son of Heli” legally and the “son of Jacob” biologically. Matthew and Luke are both recording the same genealogy (Joseph’s)
    so luke=legal lineage
    matthew=biological lineage
legally matthew would be wrong and biologically luke would be wrong.

      A Holy Catholic, Apostolic Church.

The Bible clearly explains that Joseph was Jesus' stepfather because Mary was a virgin. So Mathew gives Jesus' genealogy from Joseph who was a descendant of King Solomon. Very straight forward. Luke on the other hand also makes it clear that he is listing the genealogy of Mary when he says, "Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli" Luke 3:23. Mary was a descendant of Nathan, the other son of King David and Bathsheba. Only God could arrange a relationship so amazingly clever. Both earthly parents of Jesus were descendants of King David. Now when Jesus returns He will sit on the throne of King David in Jerusalem after He kills the antichrist.

How does “23 Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of Joseph, the son of Heli” describe the genealogy of Mary? There are only two names, that of Jesus en Joseph.
He (Jesus was the son, ..., of Joseph.
That tells us that Jesus was the son of Joseph, at least so they thought.
So that part of the statement concludes to Jesus being the son of Joseph.
      Now the second part says:
      Joseph, the son of Heli.
That is also clear. Conclusion joseph is the son of Heli.
Now tell me, how do you squeeze Mary in between these two men?
The type of logic you guys use only works within Christianity, no other human on the planet can ever understand the twists and turns you guys take. Amazing!

In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish but you remain
    (Psalm 102:25-26)
He built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth that he established forever
(Psalm 78:69). So earth will perish or not?
    And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
(Mark 16:17-18). So true believers can drink poison? Who is that?
To purify the house he is to take two birds and some cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop. He shall kill one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot. Then he is to take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet yarn and the live bird, dip them into the blood of the dead bird and the fresh water, and sprinkle the house seven times. He shall purify the house with the bird’s blood, the fresh water, the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop and the scarlet yarn.
Then he is to release the live bird in the open fields outside the town. In this way he will make atonement for the house, and it will be clean.
(Leviticus 14:49 -53). So this is how christians clean their house?
A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during her monthly period. On the eighth day the boy is to be circumcised. Then the woman must wait thirty-three days to be purified from her bleeding. She must not touch anything sacred or go to the sanctuary until the days of her purification are over.If she gives birth to a daughter, for two weeks the woman will be unclean, as during her period. Then she must wait sixty-six days to be purified from her bleeding.
(Leviticus 1-5). Cleaning of male and female are different?
Beside their servants and their maids, of whom there were 7337.and there were among them two hundred singing men and singing women.(Ezra 2:65).
besides their 7,337 male and female slaves; and they also had 245 male and female singers.
(Nehemia 7 67). So which one is true?
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months (Kings 24:8).
Jehoiachin was eight years old when he. began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem(Chronicles 36:9). So which is true?
And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand baths.(kings 7 26).
It was a handbreadth in thickness, and its rim was like the rim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It held three thousand baths.
(Chronicles 4-5). So which is true?
Go to the ant, you sluggard consider its ways and be wise!It has no commander,no overseer or ruler,
    (Proverbs 6 -7)
Ants also have leaders workers and Tribes.
So the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, "Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.

In describing Jesus being led to his execution, John 19:17 recounts that he carried his own cross. But Mark 15:21-23 disagrees by saying a man called Simon carried the cross. As for the crucifixion, Matthew 27:44 tells us Jesus was taunted by both criminals who were being crucified with him. But Luke 23:39-43 relates that only one of the criminals taunted Jesus, the other criminal rebuked the one who was doing the taunting, and Jesus told the criminal who was defending him, “Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” There are even contradictions in the accounts of the resurrection - the supposed event that is the very foundation of the Christian religion. Mark 16:2 states that on the day of the resurrection, certain women arrived at the tomb at the rising of the sun. But John 20:1 informs us they arrived when it was yet dark. Luke 24:2 describes the tomb as open when the women arrived, whereas Matthew 28:1-2 indicates it was closed. Mark 16:5 declares that the women saw a young man at the tomb, Luke 24:4 says they saw two men, Matthew 28:2 reports they saw an angel, and John 20:11-12 claims they saw two angels. the conflicting accounts of Paul’s conversion can be cited. Acts 9:7 states that when Jesus called Paul to preach the gospel, the men who were with Paul heard a voice but saw no man. According to Acts 22:9, however, the men saw a light but didn’t hear the voice speaking to Paul. Jesus also erred in predicting the amount of time he would be in the tomb. At Matthew 12:40 he teaches: “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” Mark 15:42-45 shows that Jesus died on a Friday afternoon. But Mark 16:9 and Matthew 28:1 tell us he left the tomb sometime on Saturday night or Sunday morning. Either way, the amount of time was less than three nights. GE 1:11-12, 26-27 Trees were created before man was created. GE 2:4-9 Man was created before trees were created. GE 1:20-21, 26-27 Birds were created before man was created. GE 2:7, 19 Man was created before birds were created. ( Numbers 31 17-18 ) ( Samuel 15 :3) ( dueteronomy 13 6-11)

@@islamwithproof20I have gone back and fourth about responding to your post (from a year ago) in which you list quite a few contradictions in the Bible. Your claims are erroneous and in the end I thought it was worth proving responses to a few.
      1. The two passages that describe the women going to the tomb are two different events. In one it was a group of women who went to the tomb and the other it was only Mary Magdalene.
      2. What you believe to be differences in who carried the cross are not differences. One gospel does not provide any details about the walk to Galgotha while the other gospel does. If you read the text of the gospel without the details, it specifically describes the departure. The other gospel describes the transfer of the cross from Jesus to the other individual during the trip to Galgotha.
      3. Jesus miscalculated the amount of time he spent in the tomb because he said he would be in the heart of the earth threedays and three nights. First, there are other passages that clearly state that he would be raised on the third day. Your misunderstanding of this passage is associated with not understanding how time is referred to in the time the events took place. From the little research I performed, one word in the original language is translated to the phrase "days and nights". So the reference is to the day no matter the time of day.
      4. What Paul saw and heard vs what his companions saw and heard. Based on you description, I do not see the contradiction. This was a super natural event in which only Paul heard the voice of Jesus (Jesus was talking directly to him.) Paul didn't see anyone and neither did his companions. The light was the reason nothing could be seen - one verse includes the that the light was the cause of their lack of.visibility while the other just states that nothing is seen.

For example; the God putting a ‘lying spirit’ into the false prophets means that God ‘allowed’ the false prophets to be deceived by the spirits, not that God put the spirits in them himself. And God allowed it not to deceive them, but to let them follow their hearts desire.

A BOOK 📖 FROM GOD MUST HAVE ZERO CONTRADICTIONS ✔️
Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of ➡️ Joseph, the son of Heli ⬅️ ( Luke 3:23 )
And ➡️ Jacob the father of Joseph ⬅️ the husband of Mary, of whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ ( Matthew 1:1-16 )

    • @_Zeozed
      @_Zeozed 2 года назад +1

This should be expected, since they are two different lines of ancestors, one traced through His legal father, Joseph and the other through His actual mother, Mary. Matthew gives the official line, since he addresses Jesus’ genealogy to Jewish concerns for the Jewish Messiah’s credentials which required that Messiah come from the seed of Abraham and the line of David (cf. Matt. 1:1). Luke, with a broader Greek audience in view, addresses himself to their interest in Jesus as the Perfect Man (which was the quest of Greek thought). Thus, he traces Jesus back to the first man, Adam (Luke 3:38).
That Matthew gives Jesus’ paternal genealogy and Luke his maternal genealogy is further supported by several facts. First of all, while both lines trace Christ to David, each is through a different son of David. Matthew traces Jesus through Joseph (his legal father) to David’s son, Solomon the king, by whom Christ rightfully inherited the throne of David (cf. 2 Sam. 7:12ff). Luke’s purpose, on the other hand, is to show Christ as an actual human. So he traces Christ to David’s son, Nathan, through his actual mother, Mary, through whom He can rightfully claim to be fully human, the redeemer of humanity.
Further, Luke does not say that he is giving Jesus’ genealogy through Joseph. Rather, he notes that Jesus was “as was supposed” (Luke 3:23) the son of Joseph, while He was actually the son of Mary. Also, that Luke would record Mary’s genealogy fits with his interest as a doctor in mothers and birth and with his emphasis on women in his Gospel which has been called “the Gospel for Women.”
Finally, the fact that the two genealogies have some names in common (such as Shealtiel and Zerubbabel, Matt. 1:12; cf. Luke 3:27) does not prove they are the same genealogy for two reasons. One, these are not uncommon names. Further, even the same genealogy (Luke’s) has a repeat of the names Joseph and Judah (3:26, 30).

What is written in the bible may seem to contain contradictions if you examine every phrase and statement.
However the Bible is a series of books compiled together to show the relationship of God with His people. It is full of prophecies prayers rules and events.
The Old Testament is leading to the comming of the Messiah. The new testament tells of the Messiahs arrival and his life.
The Gospels are witness statements, of His life they (the witnessed) experienced.
When writing the Gospels, the evangelists wrote each gospel with specific audience in mind. When the events are being described a different emphasise is given, relevant to the particular audience.
The gospels were written to explain to the reader who Jesus was, his nature and his teachings. It was not meant to be a historical account of his life from beggining to end. It is just a snapshot of Jesus so you can beggin to get to know him and build a relationship with him.
If you are willing to open yourself to meeting Him in the pages of the book He will lead you to where you need to be.
On the other hand if a you only look for faults and contradictions that is what you will find. You won't see the wood for the trees.

It doesn’t SEEM to contain contradictions, it contains contradictions. Even of such contradictions can be explained then that means there actually contradictions that must be explained to begin with. The problem is that many Christians say and believe that every word in every translation of the Bible is true and undeniable and translated with his authority and is the infallible word of God himself and not just inspired by God. These same people will even deny that contradictions exist even when lines within are contradictions by definition.

    My top contradictions in bible
did Jesus carry cross alone - jon says he did likely to oppose the idea he was replaced as other gospels said he didn't and the cross fell which could of lead to a miracle or a mix up.
where was Mary MAgdeline during crucifiction - jon says she was byt the cross but earlier gospels say she was a block away, shwing the bible added witnesses to the crucifictions which originally had none
Was Jesus seen after an alleged crucifiction - mark 16 :8 has Jesus not shown after the alleged crucifiction, so its possible the original bible matches Islam that Jesus wasn't crucificed and only sent to his tribe
what were Jesus's lasts words - pretty obvious contradiction
where did his faily go when he was born, Egypt or nazareth?
how did judas pass, mathew 27, or acts 1 ...
    different genologies mathw 1 :16, vs. luke 3 :23...
exodus 20 :5 teaches kids can be punished for parents but exodus 18 :20 opposes that...
