As you know, selling stuff is not my thing.
I don't buy and resell as a rule, and this video is not a change to that ethos.
When it comes to SLGs I just have too many... as evidenced by my having lost 3 and not realised.
I'm not 100% going to rule out buying anymore in future- if something very different or special comes out then maybe- but I'm not sure I'm not convinced I will.
It's currently a time of big change and I know that this stuff is 'clutter' and therefore it's time to let it go!

I’m just losing interest in luxury in general. When I think of what 1000$ can get in terms of nice food, holidays, investing I sigh - also pricing has just gotten bananas
I get that. I think it’s become less ‘old fashioned luxury’ and more expensive high street and lacking the lustre sometimes
I’m the same don’t like it now. when I see it on people it’s just not classy anymore .
My view of high end designer items have also changed in the last couple of years. I can't help but look at people carrying ridiculously priced items and see them as fashion victims. High end designer is like overpriced fast fashion - the only difference to cheaper brands is a logo, as materials and craftsmanship has suffered from severe inflation in the last few years. It's stupid that people now have to check their 8 000€ bags for defects when they receive them! 😳💩

I think about that too but it didn't stop me. IN the end of the day, i want what i want. Id rather have it than regretting not having it
It’s interesting to see someone else go through purging and getting rid of things. I sold almost everything I had and kept 6 handbags and that’s plenty enough to still enjoy and feel blessed.
No! Don't! You will probably regret it in the future, especially since it will cost so much more to replace. I have lost interest in some luxury, but I am keeping what I have. I paid $80 and $120 for my LV toiletry cases, Before they were discontinued, they were more than $300.
Tip for card holders: I use one for loyalty cards, another one for membership cards, another for our health insurance cards, one for Washington, D.C. metro cards (so we don't have to pay $2.00 for each new card; we just reload each time we go to D.C.). I have one in my glove compartment with extra cash for when my son needs it when seeing his friends or when the price of petrol is cheaper in cash.
Pouches are great for receipts (which otherwise I would lose). Cosmetic pouches are great for tech items as well as make-up. I have one on my nightstand for my lip balm and eye drops and another one in my desk. I have two large boxy ones for our TENS units. I have one for my point and shoot camera. When I get bored with what I am using, I just shop my closet for others. Each piece has a story of my life.
I have a leather coin purse in each car and one for travel. Not all hotel washers and dryers take credit cards, and with a family of four, I usually end up doing laundry on our trips.
As for space, just set up the SLGs in a different way so you can still see what you have, but have more space.
As for cars, Ken and I buy cheap because usually they lose their value the moment you drive them out of the dealership, so they are the opposite of an investment. We run them to the ground. Thank goodness ours are only four years old because the price of cars has gone up so much.
Such gorgeous SLGs Emma. Well done for biting the bullet and decluttering, it is hard but also a bit freeing I find :) When you do put these up to sell, I will be interested :)
I love a good clear out. I am trying so hard to be one out/one in right now. It really is so satisfying (yet slightly depressing). My hope is that my unused items are going on to homes where they will be loved and adored.
So totally made me go and take tally of my SLGs too 🙈 I used to, still kind of do, love buying SLGs as my way of having a bit of a collection I really like but can’t commit to a full bag of! And much like you, i’m quite fond of my Chanel SLGs because of how durable they are. Once you get your car, i’d recommend some Hermes SLGs too, the Bastia is my personal favorite, as it fits coins and bills folded in half for me, so it basically can carry all the cash I could need!

Decluttering is always a joy for me to watch and also find it useful before I buy something to see what people dont use and why. That said Im in love with the dior card holder with the little charm, its darling.
You have some absolutely beautiful pieces. I really want a Nice BB but not sure if it would sit on my vanity and not be used! You have sooo many pouches! love it!
I absolutely loved this video! Love your transparency, we all want the money (even if we don’t say it out loud 🤣). And I think you did a great job of purging in a way that was realistic. It wasn’t necessary for you to have 1 of each item only but 8 was also a bit more than what you needed lol. So you compromised with yourself. Well done 🙌🏾
Ahh well done! Such a good clear out. I think it gets much easier once you decide to get rid of a couple of bits. There's no point in stuff sitting there and not being used or kept as decoration because luxury goods are just far too expensive for that! Will keep an eye out for your sale :)

Loved this clear out style video, I don’t have tons of slgs, always kept the purchase of them low as I don’t switch out, I’ve 1 long LV, small
Prada purse (which is my version of your perfect Chanel) & a ysl card holders, all my other bits are just mid range (Ralph Lauren, coccinelle, coach). Bags on the other hand I need therapy for, I tried to keep myself at 10 but have somehow crept to 31, I’m going to do a sell too, as Id like some of the spend back as we are hoping for a new house 😅 but something you said resonated with me, bags are seasonal, you move in and out of them and you never know what style and size your are going to need.my Guccis are going to go though 😂

Snap I have the same Chanel slot card holder, in the same combination too,and the same flap compact wallet but in black caviar with gold hardware and I absolutely love it and use it everyday. Also have the small Chanel pouch too in black such classic items.As you say you don’t need lots of slgs.
I've been thinking about buying a cardholder for a while and I am glad you went through the reasons why you don't use the Dior one because I was very much considering buying it

My LV key 🔑 case is worse for wear as well.... the brown piping has worn away, the corners have curled up & the stitching undone in some places, not to mention the fading if the gold plating lol but like you, I can not part with it. It's my first LV piece that I purchased as a gift from me to me 😁 great video

For something like the 6 ring key holder or the multicolored pouch, would you ever bring them into LV to get fixed up? It all seems very mysterious, but I always hear that they will change out buttons and hardware. Do you know if it's really that simple? I change my bag every day, but I only switch wallets if there's a need. Thanks for sharing 😊
I'm shocked you're on a selling spree but it really is needed sometimes! If you start selling your bags I'm going to faint from the shock. Is that Goyard pouch the one you thought you lost? If it is I'm glad you found it!

For the faded gold hard ware: Have you try Town Talk Gold wipes? It worked a charm on my scuffed up/ faded hardware. It can't create a miracle of course, but I thought it made quite a big difference. (Adding on: after >5 years I still blame my increased forgetfulness on baby brain. I don't think its necessarily baby brain. It's more like "modern life full time working parent juggling work, life and child and hey! here's a pandemic on top of all that" brain)

Lovely collection but I would sell more of them. Keep one wallet and two pouches, that’s all you need! Then you can start again or put the money towards something else.
I have so many bags and wallets, mixed of luxury(only LV and celine), no name brands and contemporary(mcm, kate spade, coach, mk),. I started collecting around 2013 then this year I made a list to see how many items I have and computed the price of all that I have. The price of all is a price of 1 chanel or dior handbag before price increase, not even half the price of hermes😂 But Im already guilty😅. Since Im getting older, Im becoming more mindful. I wanted to sell but Im still attached. I struggle to let go.😩

Often people don't have enough money to buy a bag, they go into the store and want to walk out with something, but it's a waste of money. Better to hold off and buy one bag if into luxury bags.
I mean you only need very handful. I don’t buy one until another breaks and they never do

No there is also a boutique in Manchester. If you download the Chanel app you can get the phone numbers of the boutiques and call them to order over the phone too x

Love this. Purge! I keep SLGs at a minimum. I have 1 cardholder. I have a Nice mini and nano, I use as decor. Getting rid my toiletry 26. Don’t even use it as a pouch/catch all.
SLGs are fun until you realize that you have to take all the items out and put them back into another to use😅 I sold all but 4 of my SLG and that's more than enough for me.
