I will say right now, this has been years in the making. Not like they have been working on it difectly, but it's a culmination of all of the developers experience, as well as all of the roblox storm chasing community experience with everything to do with storms and tornadoes. Its absolutely phenomenal and surpasses every other game in quality already, especially considering it was made on Roblox's lackluster engine.
@@Litch016 Rainbow is the OG when it comes to particle tornadoes! He was the one that made probably the best GMod tornadoes mods as well is the really good Teardown tornado mod. So the devs have a lot of experience when it comes to creating very good looking tornadoes!
Will you can do alot of things with Roblox Studio too me the game would look even better with Roblox's Terrain i just wish Roblox released there Dynamic Weather they showed off if anyone goes to RDC can you ask about that since it will have Rain Thunderstorms with and without Hail and Snow you can make a game with Seasons they said
What caught my eye was the vortexes they added to the tornadoes. Bc not a lot of storm-chasing games add vortexes and if they do, it's not good at all..👌🏾
On the map size section, one thing that you probably didnt get, is that how big the map size is comes to be very realistic, if there are two supercells far away, you have 2 choices, because then you know once you get to one, the other is already far away, thats a problem many people run into in real life.
I played an extremely realistic Roblox storm chasing game a couple years ago. The name of this one sounded familiar but I guess it’s not the same one, I can’t recall what it was
I think they should have the main storms and then like a squall line storms that just pop out of nowhere like they do in real life they should also have lakes and rivers for flooding when a bad storm rolls past so it might force you to take other roads to get were your going so It can add more strategy and planning to intercept a storm
Well, the guy making the tornadoes is actually the same guy that made the best garrys mod tornadoes lol so that makes sense actually! I completely agree with you!
Not going to lie, I prefer the realistic looking vehicles rather than the blocky cars, i’m willing sacrifice vehicle destruction for realistic cars. Does anyone else feel this way?
If they did this, then they would have to make everything else very real looking, otherwise the vehicles would stick out. So I think the blocky vehicles is the way to go. Also like he mentioned this would help prevent people from just driving into the tornadoes.
been a long time since I've played any storm chasing games since Project Supercell, and wow the look of these tornadoes dragged me straight back in- the particles look insane
@@oneleaf11 In terms of normal size map RTS will end up being 25x25 miles. Since it’s in 1/4 scale they achieve a 40x40 mile map. It’ll still be massive compared to Twisted’s map
Yeah, Twisted has a version of that as well. This is making it seem like respawning cars during the chase isn't going to be possible, which I like a lot. Makes it so that players will have to strategically chase these storms instead of just driving straight into them.
-(and Gold says particle tornadoes don't look good smdh)- I've seen leaks of this game on the Twisted Discord a few times lately, and I think I'm going to join the RTS community after seeing all this. The only two things I have to say are, first off, hopefully when they say "gore system" that they're not actually going to go hyper-detailed with that. Seeing pieces of Roblox avatars scattered about with some red and maybe bones on them, sure, but nothing more than that. This isn't really for my sake either, but more so for the kids who may be playing this, as at the end of the day, Roblox is a kid's platform. They're here to play a good, fun tornado chasing simulator, not a PTSD simulator. At least, I know I am. The second is I hope the rest of the game looks as realistic as the storms and damage themselves. By this I mean the neighborhoods and the cars: I don't want them to look like they came out of classic Roblox when we now have the ability to put accurate builds into the engine. Overall, if any Roblox storm chasing game is going to dethrone Twisted, it might be this one. Let's wait and see.
@@BorysZdalny to be fair all Storm Chasing games are technically the same. Only difference is how they look and how well the storms and other game mechanics are coded
I've always wished for a tornado game where you can chase across the whole US but that's not possible at all. I don't know how people really think Twisted is still entertaining. It's dry, bland and the tornadoes always wedge out. I'm fine with anyone's opinion but it's boring and bland with the same towns hit. At this point, it's just really "take your free 200+" This game looks like it's gonna be really good. Realistic motions, everything! Insane! We had Storm Analysis Inc (tracking tornadoes on radar)'s update a few weeks ago and now this is gonna shape storm chasing games. Set in a real state too
It is amazing how they did this, twisted have competition now, and they already finished the most difficult part of this type of game so, yeah really amazing work, also add red sprites, blue jets, multiple types of lightning
Exactly what I was trying to achieve a few weeks ago, the problem is particles are laggy and they have a 1000 stud render distance, so I suppose what these guys did was use some sort of BillboardGUI (a 2d image that faces the camera with no render limit) system to act as particles? All I know it's pretty tough
@@shreddy_fazchair I didn't really play around in Studio, aren't particles basically the same thing as the solution you've mentioned? Or do they perhaps have some useless scripts hard-coded into them that create useless lag
@@nartuz5016 I guess so, ParticleEmitters are just laggy sometimes from them emitting alot of those sprites continually, BillboardGUIs are more optimized since they're obviously not emitting clones of the image every second. So they must have some sort of system which generates (voxels?) around where the tornado and storm would be and places the guis according to where the voxels are, apologies if that sounds confusing, it's also confusing to me, that's my best guess
Nah fr. They were going this route a long time ago but for some reason all of them ditched the idea. I know a big reason was the limitation of distance that players saw particles for a long time. Tornadoes would have been invisible until like a mile away. *edit : Also the lag problem
@@DuOhs1 I would 1,000% agree with OUTBRK especially with them putting over 100k into the game. Twisted is more of a Arcade style so I don’t mind it having meshes though I believe they’ll eventually transfer over to particles
This game is screaming miniature, just based from the textures and models, it looks like a mini Roblox Tornado games similar with Radar Chasers if you pay close attention
With the mention of a gore system combined with the vehicle damage mechanics, I can only imagine the grisly and terrifying scenes that could happen in this game. Imagine being rolled in your car and you look at your character to see them covered in cuts and bruises. Or even finding a car that was thrown and seeing someone's mangled body in the middle of it. Don't become the probe, y'all!
Personally, I think twisted’s still gonna be popular. Sure, Some people that prefer realistic games will move to this game, And others’l stay just because they prefer the meshes and the simplicity of the game.
As a fan of storm chasing games, I find this quite amazing and I agree to most of your opinions. Except 1...Let people have fun the way they want to have fun. Realism has to be balanced from Annoyance. And having to worry about gas will be considered more of an Annoyance (in a game). I wouldn't play it if I had to constantly check my fuel level.
@@BenieTheDragon no I completely agree with you, realism is nice until it becomes annoying. There is a fine line between realistic and fun and overly realistic. At the end of the day it’s still a video game it still needs to be fun :)
I will say though, not all games are tailored for everybody. For example, if players are looking for a more arcade style of storm chasing game there is Twisted and even Helicity. I personally am looking for a game that closely simulates real storm chasing while still being fun. The purpose is that even while you are playing a game you could even practice how you would chase in real life and move that practice into real life situations. I agree with your point but I can see both sides. Appreciate the comment :)
@@CintrixIRL I hope so it would be good to have a timeframe like “early date” “expected date” or a “delayed date” just any timeframe to avoid speculation still this looks so realistic other then the trees but it’s Roblox can’t really fix that but the clouds the damage and that sound I looked up more footage and heard a wedge tornado… The last time I heard something like that was April 27th 2011 so they nailed the sound perfectly you just can’t get that with twisted or even outbrk.
I would say for fear factor add either forced first person to cars but you can still look around from inside the car. Just to add the feel of real life in there
To add onto the wishlist segment: Better tornado survival mechanics! The ability to take cover by lying down in a ditch or climbing into a bathtub in a house and covering your head. In Twisted, you kinda have to force yourself to be in positions where you'd need to take cover and ride out the storm, which is a shame because it's genuinely intense hiding out in a building, hoping that it survives and that you don't get sucked out.
@@jacksonbarkerthebluehairedfox The ability to lay down in a ditch and have a % chance of surviving based off of how strong the winds of the tornado are would be pretty cool! If there was a mechanic where due to heavy rain and your car got stuck in a muddy road this would an option for survival if you couldn’t get out of the way!
@@CintrixIRL Yeah. Situations like that add to the fear factor of these games. The scariest part of a tornado is getting caught in the path unprepared, not just watching it from a distance or in the safety of an intercept vehicle.
I initially wanted this as well but in Roblox at least realistic tree aren't quite there yet in looking very good/ they always bring a lot of lag in game. So, for the time being I am not upset that they are still blocky if it brings good performance.
It looks amazing, the only thing I don't like about it is how the cars made of parts look so far, I seen cars made of parts look so much better then what was shown, everything else is very cool, my suggestion would be to add airbags to suspensions or spikes and drills to the vehicles to anchor it to the ground to give it some better wind threshold before taking flight

Finally a tornado game on Roblox that doesn’t look like it’s tornados are a smooth circle
Agreed, but the OG roblox storm chasing games are goated for that same thing lol

Best traits of each game
On the map size section, one thing that you probably didnt get, is that how big the map size is comes to be very realistic, if there are two supercells far away, you have 2 choices, because then you know once you get to one, the other is already far away, thats a problem many people run into in real life.
This games looks great!
Zach I watch u and Jesse
I played an extremely realistic Roblox storm chasing game a couple years ago. The name of this one sounded familiar but I guess it’s not the same one, I can’t recall what it was
I think they should have the main storms and then like a squall line storms that just pop out of nowhere like they do in real life they should also have lakes and rivers for flooding when a bad storm rolls past so it might force you to take other roads to get were your going so It can add more strategy and planning to intercept a storm
these are some of the best tornado particles i have ever seen, better than most garrys mod tornadoes actually.
Well, the guy making the tornadoes is actually the same guy that made the best garrys mod tornadoes lol so that makes sense actually! I completely agree with you!

FINALLY A REALISTIC TORNADO GAME ON ROBLOX! Wait, did I smell an underrated RUclipsr?
Not going to lie, I prefer the realistic looking vehicles rather than the blocky cars, i’m willing sacrifice vehicle destruction for realistic cars. Does anyone else feel this way?
If they did this, then they would have to make everything else very real looking, otherwise the vehicles would stick out. So I think the blocky vehicles is the way to go. Also like he mentioned this would help prevent people from just driving into the tornadoes.
@@landondonofrio5308 i feel this way too bruh
been a long time since I've played any storm chasing games since Project Supercell, and wow the look of these tornadoes dragged me straight back in- the particles look insane
40x40 is massive. for reference, twisted is 12x12. and in twisted, your top speed is actually about double what the speedometer says.
@@oneleaf11 In terms of normal size map RTS will end up being 25x25 miles. Since it’s in 1/4 scale they achieve a 40x40 mile map. It’ll still be massive compared to Twisted’s map

6:36 TC2 also have the car destruction feature but its pointless because you can just respawn your car right beside the destroyed one.
Yeah, Twisted has a version of that as well. This is making it seem like respawning cars during the chase isn't going to be possible, which I like a lot. Makes it so that players will have to strategically chase these storms instead of just driving straight into them.
-(and Gold says particle tornadoes don't look good smdh)-
I've seen leaks of this game on the Twisted Discord a few times lately, and I think I'm going to join the RTS community after seeing all this.
Yapping yepping
as someone with a phobia of gore I cannot agree more
I agree because since the houses and cars are blocky, I sure would hope that wouldn’t make the gore stand out from everything else.
Knowing Rblox it would either be mild or have the ability to toggle, You'll live.
Its just scrapes and bruises for the gore and you can disable it
im kinda late but rts chasing sounds like rtx chasing
@@BorysZdalny to be fair all Storm Chasing games are technically the same. Only difference is how they look and how well the storms and other game mechanics are coded
I've always wished for a tornado game where you can chase across the whole US but that's not possible at all. I don't know how people really think Twisted is still entertaining. It's dry, bland and the tornadoes always wedge out. I'm fine with anyone's opinion but it's boring and bland with the same towns hit. At this point, it's just really "take your free 200+"
This game looks like it's gonna be really good. Realistic motions, everything! Insane! We had Storm Analysis Inc (tracking tornadoes on radar)'s update a few weeks ago and now this is gonna shape storm chasing games. Set in a real state too
I agree with ya there!
I wish there was something like microsoft flight simulator but for tornados
It is amazing how they did this, twisted have competition now, and they already finished the most difficult part of this type of game so, yeah really amazing work, also add red sprites, blue jets, multiple types of lightning
I have no clue why other Roblox storm chasing games don't use particle effects. Fucking GMod addons had that 10+ years ago
Particles are stupidly unoptimized on roblox's engine
Nah fr. They were going this route a long time ago but for some reason all of them ditched the idea. I know a big reason was the limitation of distance that players saw particles for a long time. Tornadoes would have been invisible until like a mile away.
*edit : Also the lag problem

With the mention of a gore system combined with the vehicle damage mechanics, I can only imagine the grisly and terrifying scenes that could happen in this game. Imagine being rolled in your car and you look at your character to see them covered in cuts and bruises. Or even finding a car that was thrown and seeing someone's mangled body in the middle of it. Don't become the probe, y'all!
I would also suggest they make server refreshing for high days impossible to keep people playing even in lower risk days.
