But those ladies on that jetski.. i hate myself for staring at them in admiration of beauty, and in disbelief of their helplessness.
I live/boat on the Tennessee River. I've been stopped several times over the years for "safety checks."
I can't believe that Haulover boaters get away with such dangerous antics! 4 people on a jet ski without PFDs, overloaded boats, etc. Crazy!
It is bonkers...!!! I live on Cape Cod, MA year round. And boat most of the year. And they would NEVER get away with half this shit up here. It never ceases to amaze me what they get way with down in that state. The police must have there fingers up there asses or something. Because as you said overcrowded boats especially bow riders. No life jackets not even on children...!!! I've seen women holding babies in the huge swells at Haulover and it's just shocking how people put there loved ones in harms way without a second thought. They need what Point Pleasant Canal in NJ has implemented by there state police. An intercom system and immediate dispatch for people who speed through there. Maybe if enough tickets were issues and stricter rules this shit wouldn't be going on.

They haven’t tapped that revenue stream yet. In the Seattle area on lake Washington, there are 8 cities on the lake plus the state and the county. On a bad day you will get stopped by all of them, sometimes literally a few yards down the lake. All looking to write citations and if they don’t find something, they will make something up. Received 4 citations in one day and looked up the laws they cited. They didn’t exist. Took the citations to court and got them thrown out.

The total incompetence of people with more money than common sense that "captain" a boat... can't balance or trim their vessel + have a high centre of gravity... never ceases to amaze me..64 yo Aussie, crossed some crazy waters, east coast north to south.. entrances in trawlers, 18 ft half cab and centre console... 150 hp outboard.. patience and reading swell is better than horsepower..

Unbelievably irresponsible and ignorant of those kids/young adults to be doing that without life vests. I’d probably had not said anything if they had them on, but that’s exactly how a fun day, turns into the worst day. Especially if the water was a little rougher that day.

None of this looks fun. All looks expensive. And no one has taken a Power Squadron or Boat Safety class. Patents with kids=No life jackets. Overloaded boats. No rules of port/ starboard, right of way. Just horrid. Not safw boating. Does any authority care? Miracle that more people don't die doing this stuff.

i have a question regarding boaters in the usa in ontario canada it is law for everyone that operates a boat of all types and lengths to have what is called a operaters lisence you have to pass a test before you can operate a boat power or sail if you dont you can get high fines do they do the same in the usa it could stop some of the idiots in boats i see in your videos

At least the jet ski had a throw line with a float on the end - and it was tied onto the ski. PFDs would be nice - but they had a chance of recovering tired people. Not the worst we've seen at Haulover... (not safe or legal - but not the most dangerous sadly)
