- Here we have a tier ranking of a bunch of fantasy series I've read. This is all my personal opinion, which kinda changes now and then as well. Thanks for watching! Let me know if I've left anything out. Happy reading.

Excellent first video man! Been a fan of the pod for about a year and a half and this is exactly the type of content I was hoping you would start introducing. Only thing I would say is I wish you went into more detail on a few of the series, because I really like hearing your thoughts. But I definitely understand trying to keep the video at a manageable length and avoiding spoilers. Regardless, if this is a sign of the content to come I’m stoked!
Edit: Following this up with a standalone tier list could be fun (would definitely be a bit of an undertaking tho haha!)
Excellent first video! I discovered works that I am eager to read. English is not my native language, yet I understood everything. Looking forward to the next videos.
Great video! I'm just starting to get into reading Fantasy but haven't read much of it so this helps to solidify which ones are worth my time
Was hoping for you to do more stuff on youtube. Enjoyed this one and already looking forward to what might come next. :)
Thanks so much for watching!
Loved this! Can’t wait for more videos :)
Love this! Don’t feel afraid to expand on your thoughts on a series beyond the absolute barebones in a tier list, even if it includes the briefest overview (i.e. could identify First Law as Grimdark fantasy or include a few more identifiers for the others.)
Great video.
Awesome thanks for the input! I imagine I'll get more long-winded as I get used to making more long form stuff
Has the podcast done a review on First Law? I’ve been trying to find it! Ya’ll have me hooked based on your Expanse reviews.
I've been waiting for this!
Thanks for watching!
Green Bone is just about perfection!
Finally someone who thinks what I think about Faithful and the Fallen
Book 2 of the Broken Earth was my favorite for some reason 😂😂😂
I think about the Green Bone Saga at LEAST once a day.
Wake up babe BRK posted
Good stuff. Convinced me to give Locke Lamora a try by putting it in S tier. I'm also really curious if you've read The Tapestry series by Henry Neff. I never hear anyone discuss them but I've read a lot of fantasy and they're amazing to me.
The only S tier books I’ve read are the Farseer trilogy and the Lord of the Rings. Oh, and the Way of Kings, but not the rest. I’ll need to read the rest of your S tier!
I also love the ending of the Dark Tower series. Not a popular opinion, but I feel like it's so fitting; nothing else would've felt right.
I'm curious as to where you'd place The Elric Saga by Michael Moorcock! I haven't read them, but I remember seeing them on my brother's shelf ages ago as a kid and being curious about them, so they're high on my list. Also dying to read Winternight now that you gave them such a high ranking; they've been sitting on my shelf for over a year. 🤭
I don't think I missed it if you mentioned it in this video, but curious where the Mage Errant series would fall on this!
I've read the first two, but haven't finished the series. They're really cool!
@@bookreviewskill You introduced me to the series and it has been so good!
You should definitely read: the Warlord Chronicles, The Bloodsworn, The Blacktongue Thief, Between Two Fires & Daughter of the Empire, The Last War, Boudica : Dreaming the Eagle, the Prydain Chronicles &!Deathstalker!!
King killer chronicles, even if you ignore Pat, in 2 books the story doesn’t progress one little bit! Why doesn’t it get so much praise
Would love to know where Mistborn falls on the list!
I haven't finished the series, but The Final Empire would top A Tier for sure
Hell yeah awesome video! Any chance you’re up to do the same for sci-fi?
Could you this but for sc fi as well? Whether that’s Individual books or whole series
Really missing your Malazan readalong podcast. Hope you can get back to it.
Also, the Arthurian Saga by Mary Stewart!
Have you read the Red Rising books?
Aaargh Kingkiller is so great despite its lame but incredible author!!!
I really don’t get it, they story doesn’t go anywhere
It's weird seeing TFATF so low in any tier list lol
Redwall f*ck yeah
Sad to see the Licanius series near the bottom the day I plan on starting the first book!
Personally I would flip LOTR and Licanius, everyone has their own favorites and so you can absolutely love something someone else hates and it’s perfectly normal!
Wanted to double back here (not that anyone really cares!) but I just finished book one of Licanius and it was really good! Evan’s recommendations are almost always on point for me but just goes to show that one person may not like a book that you do and that’s okay.
So I'm sure this will be unpopular but I got about halfway through the assassin's apprentice and I really just lost interest. Im assuming from how popular the book is that it picks up but it just felt like it was taking forever to get anywhere at all. Anyone else have that experience?
But wait, what about Earthsea??
Am I dumb or did you compltely miss Mistborn or have'nt you read that?
