Alright now Won't you listen? When I first met you, didn't realize I can't forget you or your surprise You introduced me to my mind And left me wanting you and your kind Oh, yeah! I love you Oh, you know it My life was empty, forever on a down Until you took me, showed me around My life is free now, my life is clear I love you, sweet leaf Though you can't hear Oh, yeah! Come on now Try it out Straight people don't know What you're about They put you down and shut you out You gave to me a new belief And soon the world Will love you, sweet leaf Oh, yeah, baby! Come on now! Oh, yeah! Try me out, baby! Alright! Oh, yeah-ah I want you part of this sweet leaf Oh, yeah! Alright, yeah, yeah, yeah Oh-oh, try me out I love you, sweet leaf, oh
I didn't even exist when this came out but then destiny spit me out February of "79" and here I sit almost 16,060 days later and Black Sabbath has been a huge inspiration to my life. Music can almost solve and fix any problem your having most importantly its free therapy!
I think I was 15. Had a serious fight with my dad because of a jealous "step mom" who really wanted me out of the picture - dead. Seriously! I ran off .... stayed with my best friend for the weekend. Listened to music all night ... no sleep ... the Beatles White Album .... David Bowie, if I remember correctly ... and this one. I had never even heard of Black Sabbath before and I was amazed. First time I ever got high .... I think it kicked in right about half-way through side one. Man, I'll never forget those days .... as much as they sucked back then, today ... well, we usually fish out the good parts and forget the rest anyway .... I'm no exception, I guess ... they're golden memories.
My first purchase of vinyl records as a teenager was The Doors' first album, Clutch's first album, the Soundtrack to 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Black Sabbath's Master of Reality. I still have all three and now many many more :)
One of the greatest rock albums ever made easily this is a foundation of rock and roll they don't even know how to make music like this anymore unbelievable and I'm glad because the time that this music came out was the right time for it
It was the music that heralded the birth of the counter-culture. It kept getting better and better until the establishment began to get its claws back into us in the mid-seventies, and was formally consigned to the underground by the onset of mass media in the eighties. The counter-culture has been negotiating the western way of life since the mid-sixties, and it is now on its very last legs in the days of the vanguard of fascism. It is in dire need of a rebirth, on some level it knows this already, and when it comes, the music will come roaring back with it. You just wait and hear.
This is my favorite album by Sabbath ❤️ obviously the debut album is unbelievable and very much could be considered the best. But come on Lord of this world, and Into the void. Need I say more!!!
Alright now
Won't you listen?
When I first met you, didn't realize
I can't forget you or your surprise
You introduced me to my mind
And left me wanting you and your kind
Oh, yeah!
I love you
Oh, you know it
My life was empty, forever on a down
Until you took me, showed me around
My life is free now, my life is clear
I love you, sweet leaf
Though you can't hear
Oh, yeah!
Come on now
Try it out
Straight people don't know
What you're about
They put you down and shut you out
You gave to me a new belief
And soon the world
Will love you, sweet leaf
Oh, yeah, baby!
Come on now! Oh, yeah!
Try me out, baby! Alright!
Oh, yeah-ah
I want you part of this sweet leaf
Oh, yeah! Alright, yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh-oh, try me out
I love you, sweet leaf, oh
