I bet there’s another mold with six different thimbles and they’re meant to be one for each month of the year.
It sounds like you have December through May, maybe. Christmas for December, the windmill for January?, the heart for Valentine’s Day, clover for St Patrick’s in March, the bunny for Easter, and the flowers for Mothers Day in May.
I have them!
@@bethl7602 I’m wondering if the windmill for January is because of the book Jan of the windmill? Perhaps it was the mould designers favourite childhood book and they included a tongue in cheek reference 😄
@@shariebarker4480What are the other thimble patterns, Sharie?
❤
These koalas with their tiny flower pots would be perfect to sell as "mommy flower pots" for the tiny flowers that kids love to give to their parents! Such a cute design I'm in love ❤️
I can see the upside down thimbles as pin cushions if you fill the thimble pot with emory (pincushion filling) and covered with velvet or other cloth. The koala would help keep the pin cushion the right way up
Oh my gosh, it would work so well as a pin cushion because it relates to its original use as a finger protecter!
I was thinking this exact thing. You would need to not slick the inside rim to get the fabric for the top to adhere.
Was thinking the exact same thing as I was watching. Pin cushions would play to the thimble use and would look so cute on a sewing table.
oh wow that's a great idea. O.O
snap...my thoughts too!
As a hand sewer, thimbles are life, but ceramic thimbles are just for collectors. Love how you utilized these trinkets!
I think this combo would be so cute on a table setting holding toothpicks or even on a bathroom vanity holding bobby pins!! .. although bobby pins always manage to be all over the house
They are adorable! ❤
I think the thimbles would make adorable little bells too. You could pour them a little thinner and add a clacker inside! They would work that way adorably as your tea strainer thingies too...bells on the side of your teacup!! They turned out too cute exactly as you've made them too!! Love them!!
That's awesome idea!
As a hand sewer, thimbles are life, but ceramic thimbles are just for collectors. Love how you utilized these trinkets!
I think the koalas might be meant to hug taper candles. We had a bunch of ceramic Christmas cats in the 80s/90s that had open arms like this and they fit into a little dish-base thing. They were big school fundraiser items here at that time, haha.
I remember those. They came in every conceivable figure, my MIL had 2 pairs, one angels, one children in choir robes.
So cute! They worked so great together!
The thimble painted as a popcorn bucket with tiny popcorn on the koala would be cute 🍿
They definitely, go together like peas and carrots!! And the little flowers in them… wonderful!!
To me the thimbles look kind of like the little plastic pails kids take to the beach. If you make more I think an ocean theme would be so cute!
I love the detail on the koala's fur, just enough to see but not overwhelming.
These two pieces really are meant to be, it's like they're fated to go together.
Oh! They're so bright and cheerful! How adorable!!! And then you gave them little posies! I'm going to die over how adorable they are.
Baby koalas day at the beach! 🏝️ so cute! I love this idea!
I bet with the right findings those thimbles would make very sweet little ceramic bells, too! Those would be very fun as earrings or on a wind chime.
Your aesthetic of flowers elevated those to such a height nothing else is needed. On their own the Koala could be an ornament and the thimble a decor piece or bell. Cheers from the Midwest USA💜
OMG those are the cutest things ever!!! Perfect for those little flowers that children bring their moms from the yard.
These are so cute. Doubting yourself just makes the happy result all the more exciting and rewarding in my experience.
He'd be super cute inside of a mug as a surprise 💕
Ugghhhhhh the results are killing me!!!! They are precious little babies!
If you Smile when you open that kiln… you’ve done it right ❣️❣️❣️
I love the idea of the koala holding the upside down thimbles. I love animals with "found" items. My fairie garden would love this addition ❤❤❤
I could see the thimbles being turned into bells ❤
Shelby, both of those molds by themselves would make adorable Christmas ornaments. I don't know if you'd be able to take an artificial tree to your craft sale in November, but if you can, the Koala's would 100% sell out just due to the uniqueness of them. The thimbles would also make really cute Christmas tree ornaments as well.
So darling! These would be so perfect for those tiny bouquets of random flowers children bring their mamas. ❤
IM CRYING 😭 The little flower bouquets are everything 😭😭😭
These turned out super cute.
They could also work as small candle holders.
The thimbles look like they can be used for little bee waters that you can place around the garden.
A realistic koala with your flower designs on the flower pot would be lovely too!
As someone who was a kid in the 1970s, the concept of animal figurines covered in patterns, especially flower patterns, gives me nostalgia for everything that I loved about the aesthetic of that time. I love that the thimbles work so well with the little koalas! I so very much want one of these and hope I can snag one if they ever go online.
The timbles could be your own collector’s piece with your flower patterns on your ceramic collection! It could be a cute tea weight addition to your mugs
Thank you!1 I thought it would be so cute!
Wow, these look fantastic! I think the blue ones are my favourites ❤
These are adorable 🥺 These would make the perfect matchstick holders, you should put striker stickers on the bottom of them!!
These are adorable!! 😍 another use for the thimbles could be like tiny ceramic bells? Like a string of them. But anyway... your idea was fantastic! 😊
These are adorable. I would love to see you do just the thimbles as they were meant to be. I think anyone who sews or is a fabric artist, it is just a fun thing to collect to add to your sewing room.
The thimbles would be so cute strung onto fairy lights!
Awww You could make them into little tea friends! Make the thimble look like a tea cup or a coffee cup so it's like they're having tea with you!!
Oh my these just might be my favourite thing ever. The green one with the natives is just amazing! 😍😍😍
Total cuteness overload!!!!
I can totally see the koala/thimble being a toothpick holder. Super cute.
These made me smile. Absolutely adorable.
Oh my! 😍 They’re just the cutest! The green ones are my favorite! They’re all so lovely!!
Tiny plant pots was my immediate thoughts when you opened the first mold, I love these so much!! They come together so well with the little bouquets 🥺
They turned out so mind blowingly adorable!! 🤯😍
Those cute little koalas and thimbles would be great in a sewing room to hold used sewing machine needles ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm from Kentucky and I approve! I used to have a koala backpack purse when I was a kid, it made so much more sense to me to have a koala hanging on my back than a cat or dog. Koalas are just made to hug things!
They just love to hug. That is the best!
I had a koala backpack purse too! Something very comforting about having that koala hug.
The koala flower cups a just adorable xxx
So cute! My grandparents had lots of Australiana themed crockery sets which often included a little toothpick holder and this reminded me so much of that!
I love the pale green koalas! Very creative with the garden flowers in the pots.
ahh these are adorable!!!😍
Maybe the thimbles could be made into little hanging bells? Love your work!
These are just cuteness overload!!! ❤❤❤ 🎉
Absolutely AH-DOR-A-BULL!! The colours are so vibrant and the patterns look amazing as always. Perfect mash-up piece!
I can see these sat on a teachers desk with a little flower in each day that a child has brought them. My daughter loves picking flowers for her teacher on the way to school.
I also kinda wanted one of those koalas to have a thimble bucket of popcorn 🍿
The Koala and thimble combo works perfectly as a toothpick holder!
Those Koalas' are sooo cute. They all came out super adorable.
I really love these, they are so cute! The little green one looked like they were sniffing the flowers and it was so charming! ❤😊
These are such precious little buddies
That was the perfect combination! So cute :)
these are so cute i burst into happy tears when they came out of the kiln all colourful and cheery 🥹 another amazing one Shelby!!!
Well, you could store your thimble in that bucket! 💜💜💜Or rings. Everyone has a precious thing to put in that bucket. Very cute, Shelby.
Love your decision! Remember there is no wrong decision in art. I make jewelry and have those doubt too but realize I love the creative journey in the process.
These are so adorable! 🥰 I think you could definitely make some hanging Christmas decorations out of both the koalas and thimbles. The thimbles could be little bells, and the koalas could have little Santa hats and be holding candy canes. 😊💗
The thimbles being bells were my thoughts, too. Shelby said something about ear rings. I immediately thought of making them bell's. Christmas tree decorations would be beautiful as well, like you said.
These might be my favorite. I love the final product with the flowers! 💐
They would be great toothpick holders! Love them so much!!!!
These are so adorable! I think thimbles are a collectible exactly because they are small and because "in the day" women sewed by hand a lot. They can be fun reminders of all the places you have visited but also useful and easy to bring home without taking up any real luggage space. Pushing a needle through a thick fabric hurt so the thimble helped you put pressure on the needle without hurting your finger. At least that has been my experience. You could make a living just selling these throughout Australian souvenir shops or boutiques. No need to have any other product. The Koala does make it quintessentially Australian and is a whole new use of the thimble. The two together are adorable especially as you styled them with the flowers! Great job!!!
These look like they’d be perfect pots for baby succulents
You could add hooks to the thimbles and turn them into ornaments.
If you put magnets in the koalas bell then the thimble can hold needles!
Also 100% the pincushion idea! They would make PERFECT pincushions!
Oh my goodness so adorable!!!!!
these koalas are the most adorable thing ever 😍
These turned out SO CUTE! Could they possibly be used as candle holders? I love your work Shelby! Best wishes from Angela in Illinois, USA❤️
I think they could make a great toothpick holder, Christmas ornaments but I love the flowers in them.
You could make three of one of the thimbles, cut them in half, attach around something or on a plaque. Love these!
you could make the little thimbles into christmas decorations or little bells if you put a hole in the top I think that would be very cute.
They are adorable!!! I had a friend who fixed a leaky mold with thin layers of beeswax, just layered over the seam until the overfill was very minimal.
Awesome job!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
could use them to make tiny bells from thimbles, maybe even combine it with something similar shaped but bigger and make windchimes
So cute! They could also be used as ring keepers or made into tiny pin cushions. Such fun!
I LOVE the minty green gum tree koala. So cute and the colours are beautiful!
Your enthusiasm for native Australian flora and fauna has inspired my own interest in my home state’s native wildlife. 🥰 in Arkansas (Southern U.S. state) we have both Elk and Alligator hunting. The Ozark Mountains in the northwest corner of the state are home to Elk, while the swamps and wetlands of the southern edges of the state are populated by alligators.
OMGShelby! A very cute very Austrailian addition to your plate ware set--- a cute Koala toothpick holder for the dining table matching your dinnerware! Love Love Love.
I love these! They’re perfect for the tiny little wildflowers!
The upside thimbles would be soooo cute!!
Omg!! Thimble tea charms!!! Please, please, please, please!!!
My Mother likes to sew in the evenings, this would be a cute pin cushion for her. 😊
I love the green ones, but all of them are adorable ❤
toothpick holders! they would make the cutest toothpick holders to sit on a table
These koala's would also look really cute with an elastic band through them, you could use them to hold up a ponytail!
These are so cute, what a good combination! With the little flower posies too! 😍😍😍
This is too cute to handle!!!! Well done as always ❤
Omg! These are the most adorable pieces I've have ever seen! 😍
unbearably adorable!
Perfect combo I just love everything you make!! ❤❤❤❤
I love these little koalas so sweet!
Miniature cacti would be cute too 😊
Such a cute combo! You make the most darling items.
I always enjoy your videos! When i was younger, i used to go to a class once a week and work on pieces like these. I just love the koala pot holders, and can see myself owning several to have around my house! Your creative ideas are always so pleasing to me. I also like the idea of making them into needle/pin cushions. I sew a lot, and again, can see several of them scattered around my sewing areas. ❤
I LOVE the koalas with the thimbles. So adorable. I thought that maybe could put toothpicks or matches for candles.
these would be sooo perfect for my classroom. my kindergarten students always come and bring me the tiniest little flowers.
Aren't those the cutest little fellas 😍🥹😍
I love these little guys!!! They would be excellent for displaying air plants
I use thimbles whenever I am sewing or embroidering through thick fabrics to help force the needle through. They are great for upholstery as well. Its less about avoiding needle pricking amd more about avoiding the pain of pressing hard on the blunt end... I imagine a ceramic thimble would crack or slip.
The decorative ones seem tacky, but your koala with the bud vase is the more adorable thing ever!!!❤
Ridiculously cute!
OMG!! I'm a Prep teacher and would totally put one of those on my desk because my students are always bringing me small little flowers! How adorable! 😍😍
