Bin there, little piece of advice don't under estimate yourself, you will be surprised what you can do when you have too? Like my old Dad use to say these things are sent to test you and for what its worth I thought you did a bloody good job. Cheers😁
nice luckily i bought my mk1 at 75k mileage and the guy i bought it from was a military nuclear scientist and he replaced the water pump with the timing belt kit at 70k miles or sooner. I think most people say to change timing belt at the same time. I have come to notice a lot of people on the car sales websites try to sell german cars right before this service is needed around 70k miles for water pump/timing belt replacement, so they sell it to someone who most likely never owned a german car and doesn't know this service is needed. and if you buy an older model it might cost more to change then you paid for the car lol
When I had my water pump replaced they basically took off the whole front end (bumper, radiators, intercooler) and doing it that way you have access to be able to replace the belt
nice job!! despite the cuts and bruises! how long did it take including your prep work? looks like a lot of labour figures why shops charge so much, shame audI designed placement like that for a such a perishable item. is that an aftermarket water pump as read on forums they're more robust than the OEM? cheers.
Great work mate and fantastic prep work 👍🏻👍🏻. New clip pliers game changer. You need a pop up gazebo mate 👍🏻
That would be ideal mate haah

Seems abit overkill for that 😂 my belt was fine so no need to replace it

It’s a genuine water pump and took me a while tbh about 2 hours to get it out and same putting it back in maybe little longer
