Djent is about the groove. Monuments' songs contain so much groove and beauty, that it's honestly difficult for me to understand why they receive so much hate.
+Daniel Henny They missing out, plus some of the vocals heavy as hell. Tesseract are another great band they are missing out on, glad I dont consider myself most metalheads (i certainly am one) but a music lover first.
+Sauria666 „Sauria” Oh come, don't "most metalheads" on here. I myself am a big fan of clean vocals but i just can't stand the poppish manner of Monuments' vocalist. I do consider him to be a very talented man, it's just not my pair of shoes - The instrumentals on the other hand are goddamn brilliant and i enjoy them thoroughly.
Honestly in my opinion one of the best guitarists! I can't stop listening to him! Ever since they released their first album I listen to it at least 2-3 times a day both their albums!! I am looking forward to more great work by him!
Absolutely disgusting monster of a tune! I watch this everytime for inspiration to pick up my own guitar and start writing my own music. Big fan of Mr. Browne.
The chord he uses after the finger-tap intro....ugh...feel like I'd have to mash my hand with a sledgehammer to make my hand do that! Dude is so talented. Music is tits. Loving it!
my lord i imagine a war space i love this emg videos john browne are the best ever ...ever suppppport djent im from argentina say love metal instrumental
The really cool thing about that section is that it's not actually off the beat. The guitar part he's playing there is written in twelve, while the other guitar line is in four. Polymeters!! They match both match up with the drums, if you listen closely. It's one of my favorite things about the song, along with the section right after.
not overreacting man, these guys should not even be mentioned in the same context. John Browne is way more skilled and his picking technique is a alot cleaner, tighter, and efficient. Syn Gates wouldnt be able to get thru 30 secs of a Monuments song. Just my opinion, been playing guitar for about 10 years.
Djentleman1991 Geez fucking christ, I couldn't care less for the technique. ALL I'm saying is that the way he holds his pick, the way he has his pinky comfortably sitting there reminds me of the way Syn holds his pick. I couldnt' care less if one plays better than the other nor I'm trying to compare them.
10-59 7 string set (A little to light of a gauge in my opinion), tuned to different variations of A# F A# D# F A# D# (G# F A# D# F A# D#). This song is in G# D# G# C# D# G# C#.
Can someone help me identify his rig in here? It's simple but sounds so fucking good lol as far as amp set up I obviously recognize the Randall 4x12 but I have no idea what's on top of it. For stomp boxes, I spotted a 7 channel EQ, a tuner, what seems to be a noise gate, but there's one pedal there that I have no clue on (I'm assuming its an OD of some kind). Info pls
+Terry Voorbij (terrymonster666) it's not a J Custom, it was an LACS (LA Custom Shop) made for Ken Susi of Unearth right before he went to ESP. But they didn't let him keep it when he changed
I don't listen Post Melone, not my Genre but the guy can play Guitar very well "jazz, blues, rock" and seems to be a great person - and Magic Cards. What I didn't know is, that he also plays in Monuments O.O
Care to elaborate on what constitutes this "djent" you speak of? Every band that I see kids referring to as "djent" these days aren't even progressive at all. I bet when you listen to Meshuggah you think that they're just hitting a bunch of random notes too.. Browne is a brilliant composer. If you can't hear it, then it's just because you're too mentally limited when it comes to interpreting music like this..
To be fair, John Browne was one of the first guys to make this style popular with Acle in Fellsilent. Fellsilent, Meshuggah and Periphery were the big three bands that started it off really.
Djohn browne
How did I not think of that myself....
Hank Hill You were too busy thinking of propane.
+Julio Estrada And Propane Accessories .
+Hank Hill how do you appear in every Djent video k saw god dammit..
+Hank Hill *i see
Djent is about the groove. Monuments' songs contain so much groove and beauty, that it's honestly difficult for me to understand why they receive so much hate.
because of the vocals
Bobby Hill what don't you like about the vocals?
***** most "metalheads" are not into clean vocals....
1:31 that switch up is fucking timeless. I've known this song for about 5 years now and it still never gets old.
this dude is like one of the best metal rhythm player ever
many props!
His picking technique is to die for. No seriously, it's that good.
+James Lowndes His hand is sooooo fast :O
Your left hand is what you know......YOUR RIGHT HAND IS WHO YOU ARE
1:58 my favorite part of all of monuments \,,/
Insane Riff, the percussive bits inbetween always fuck with me xD and the slides crazyy.
1:59 pure genius
After almost 7 years this playthrough still brings tears to my eyes. So good and hope to see Monuments live again soon!
Im not really into this kind of music djent or meshuggah-metal but its obvious this guy is a great artist..
The world needs more people like you
John _ thanks buddy, the feeling is reciprocal...
meshuggah wannabes, are rarely not trash
Honestly in my opinion one of the best guitarists! I can't stop listening to him! Ever since they released their first album I listen to it at least 2-3 times a day both their albums!! I am looking forward to more great work by him!
I call this song "Jizz"

Incredible. I just love watching this guy play!
Thank you John Browne for your wonderfull inspiring music! And your godly right hand!
1:50 was amazing.
Groovy and soundscape sounding!
We love you John Browne! And we love Monuments.

1:59 The Alchemist?? Favorite riff in that song.
2:04 dat picking...omg
god DAMN that part beginning at 1:58 is SOOO fucking good like holy FUCK man
I enjoy music
Absolutely disgusting monster of a tune! I watch this everytime for inspiration to pick up my own guitar and start writing my own music. Big fan of Mr. Browne.
best I heard......ever!!!!! sick mad playing great change up n time sigs
he is so amazing
The chord he uses after the finger-tap intro....ugh...feel like I'd have to mash my hand with a sledgehammer to make my hand do that!
Dude is so talented. Music is tits. Loving it!
Brutal as Godlike!
Dat picking...AMAZING
I'm not normally into this type of metal, but this is pretty awesome! :D
Outstanding!
The EMGtv playthroughs sound better than actual album
VERY NICE!
my lord i imagine a war space i love this emg videos john browne are the best ever ...ever suppppport djent
im from argentina say love metal instrumental
Fucking Awsome! His tech is really amazing, but overall how he makes sound each riff so unique, Grettings from a big Spanish fan!
Masterpiece!!
It's safe to say John Brown is my main influence when it comes to my technique. Very percussive.
I love this song!!!! ^^... Those chords pffff!!!! XD
I really like your guitar sweet
OMG, he's alternating!! :O
il est tellement bon
great!
nice job and nice EMG-s ^.^
Holy shit this guy is amazing.
JB in Beast mode yet again. This trend in Heavy Jazz is exciting.
Absolutely insane...
i want an instrumental version of the cd
The songs have been clearly written to a vocalist so that would be like asking "I want a drum-less version of this album".
You could buy the album and take out the vocals with phase cancelation if you wanted.
"My precious" hahahaha
This song is simply amazing, the best of the "The Amanuensis"
For sure Browne is one of the best exponents of emg
a fucking artist he is.
The offbeat riff as 1:32 hurts my brain
The really cool thing about that section is that it's not actually off the beat. The guitar part he's playing there is written in twelve, while the other guitar line is in four. Polymeters!! They match both match up with the drums, if you listen closely. It's one of my favorite things about the song, along with the section right after.
Anyway people would have to do meth to understand this math.
Kristian Warner he is just accenting the up beats
@@Max_Payn3 I just have to say, thats not what he is doing he's actually accenting a lot of the downbeats.
Damn, John is such a god.
Here for my monthly relisten of this playthrough.
Holy fucking shit dude. That was brilliant! \m/
Djinn, the d is silent.
Duh-Jinn
wich is that guitar model?
nice.
That tail in the verse sounds exactly like the one in I, the destroyer.
Anyone know the model of this guitar and/or scale length of the neck?
this guy is mad completely
his picking technique really does remind me of Syn Gate's.
lol are you serious? JB is lightyears ahead of syn gates!!! Syn cant even play his solos cleanly live
Djentleman1991 What about you don't overreact? I didn't say it was the same, I said the way they pick is pretty similar.
not overreacting man, these guys should not even be mentioned in the same context. John Browne is way more skilled and his picking technique is a alot cleaner, tighter, and efficient. Syn Gates wouldnt be able to get thru 30 secs of a Monuments song. Just my opinion, been playing guitar for about 10 years.
Djentleman1991 clearly, this person you're replying to and made the original comment hasn't been playing guitar for 10 months.
BOSS!
All finger breaker chords. All the time.
Someone knows what string gauges John uses?
very thick ones
i dont know it for shure, but thats typical for that kind of musik
+Leo Bury music*
10-59 7 string set (A little to light of a gauge in my opinion), tuned to different variations of A# F A# D# F A# D# (G# F A# D# F A# D#). This song is in G# D# G# C# D# G# C#.
Can someone help me identify his rig in here? It's simple but sounds so fucking good lol as far as amp set up I obviously recognize the Randall 4x12 but I have no idea what's on top of it. +Dimitri Anchipolovsky I´ve spotted the following equipment:
1. Boss NS-2
2. Ibanez Tube Screamer
3. Boss GE-7
4. Laney Ironheart Studio.
+WoRgRaMiX John has a signature OD from Reaper pedals
This guy should be the composer for Doom 4! His music 100% reminds me of Doom.
Seeing that Mick gordon ceased working with id and bethesda now would be his chance haha
hmmm
Anybody else notice, he's got that beautiful Strandberg sitting there, and he never once played it?
Quasimodo please!
Garden of Sankhara next plz
what ibanez is that ?
+leon taylor Ibanez RGT J-Custom
+Terry Voorbij (terrymonster666) it's not a J Custom, it was an LACS (LA Custom Shop) made for Ken Susi of Unearth right before he went to ESP. But they didn't let him keep it when he changed

I don't listen Post Melone, not my Genre but the guy can play Guitar very well "jazz, blues, rock" and seems to be a great person - and Magic Cards.
What I didn't know is, that he also plays in Monuments O.O
Djent Browne
Nuansa van zx Djohn Browne*
And yet we still search for proof of alien life 🤷🏻♂️
Djent isnt a fucking genre, its a writing style/technique. Its like saying "That band is arpeggio" or "I like bands with chords".
a writing style pfffft dude what ? hahaha.
Sorry to say this, but you're just wrong dude.
Kyle McKenna ....rap.
intro gojira style
well if Gojira's intro look like that we are not listening same Gojira :'D
Gojira's tapping intro in way more loud and slow !

Appropriate surname you have there.
Why in the world do you feel the need to go to each of his videos and comment? Go listen to some Slash you troll.
To be fair, John Browne was one of the first guys to make this style popular with Acle in Fellsilent. Fellsilent, Meshuggah and Periphery were the big three bands that started it off really.
Bla bla bla haters gonna hate and Djent is a crap
