Hi! Quick advise from Portugal The hornets that you ve found in the tree are actually asian hornets and its a problem in Portugal. The right way to deal with those is to call the fire department and they will handle the situation safely. Those type of hornet kill people and they re growing and expand all over the country. Great that you found a solution to removing the cement. It's lovely to see so many people removing all the cement render and pointing on old buildings and seeing the renaissance of lime mortar and render but sad to see people renovating beautiful old buildings and still using cement creating problems for the future. ❤

It’s such a shame that concrete was previously used, Thank goodness that it’s worked out this time, your dedication is priceless as is your wife’s. Hats off to both of you. I wish that others RUclipsrs would do only half of what you two. There are a few other channels but not many that respect these old building.

It's true, my Sicilian grandmother always had her kitchen painted blue because she said it kept the flies away and to this day I paint my kitchen blue and never had flies even in the hottest summers.
That was also true in Catalonia. Many farmhouses had the windows and the stones around them painted blue to keep away flies. It seems that flies and mosquitoes do not like the wavelength if blue like colors.
You done a great job removing the paint on the window frame. If you are lucky the new frame will cover some of it up. Great video and enjoy your swing!
Victoria, Everything new is a learning process. Even when you do it a second time, you will learn something new. I used to get so upset with myself for 'not knowing everything.' Then I started to live by the phrase, "You cannot know that which you have not yet learned." ❤ A SWING FOR GROWN UPS! LOVELY❤
The SWING! Not only fun but really builds core body strength when you're "pumping." Don't know what you Brits call that but it's when you have to bring your legs back and forth to get the swing swinging! I found out how much of your core is involved when I went swinging as an adult!

A good swing is so wonderful! I have always kept a large potted mint plant. Watch out for the roots growing out of the bottom- mint can be quite invasive. I love to keep a pitcher of mint water in the refrigerator & have even frozen individual mint leaves in ice cubes for iced tea. Thank you for your vlogs, it is interesting to follow your projects. Possibly a wire brush attachment for the drill might work well after you break the seals at the joints and or spaces between the stone. I am guessing that if the wire brush does finish prep well , of course this amount of work you wear attachments down and so might be a case that you go thru 3 or 4 of those attachments depending on the quality of a product.

You two are working so hard! Keep going with the renovation. But as far as herbs go - and any planting in your climate - it's better to get the plants in the ground, so the roots don't bake in the pots, and so you don't have to water them endlessly. For the same reason, your raised beds will work better for the Portugal winter season. As will your greenhouse.
Always something to occupy the mind on the land, from strimming the grass so it does not catch fire, to interior jobs in the house to be and why not give way to slightly smaller projects like a herb garden, though Victoria Mint is a very evassive plant to grow and can become unruly in no time at all.
The herb garden looks lovely 🥰 I do question the need to remove the paint from the stones, new windows and their frames tend to be a lot deeper and will probably cover the paint your trying to remove…..

Trimming grass has one good point..when you've cleared an area. it's very satisfying seeing cleared area...even though after awhile you'll have to repeat it..still..getting to the fruit trees without happening onto a snake hiding in the grass..Verry practical! Keep hydraded!!!!

Paint the inside of your plantpots so the clay will not suck the water out of the soil and it get vaporised by wind and sun.
