Even though I've never seen the movie, I already knew about Alec's betrayal, because it's one of those "infamous movie twists" that everything had to reference and parody for the next twenty years, just like "No Luke, I AM YOUR FATHER!"
Part of the surprise comes from the movie, it was present in the Facility; but it was more implied that Ourumov shot Trevelyan there... which made the surprise come more out of the shadows. Especially since the movie makes it seem like Ourumov and Xenia are going to be the main villains.
@@Kohchu Again it's one of those things that I don't know any of the build-up to...just the final scene on the Arecibo telescope where Bond turns his catchphrase back around on him and lets him plummet to his death. Also even if I DIDN'T see that shot referenced and memed a billion times I'd still know Alec had to die because...Sean Bean.
I may be in the minority here, but I *really* don't like the distance fog levels in this game; makes it really difficult to see where you're going and the navigation is terrible.
It's somewhat of an acquired taste. Many early 3D games did it primarily to mask a lot of the level, but also to reduce lag; as with the fog in place, the game only has to render what is viewable on the screen. But on the other hand, with better everything nowadays, it does come of as an out of date thing from back than. Still, I never found fog in Goldeneye or games like Silent Hill to be an issue. It bothered me more in games like Turok.

Darth Vader doesn't say that. He says:
"No... I am your father."
