I love Holbein’s sketches so much. Sometimes the stylized portraits that were in fashion just don’t help me picture what the real person looked like. His sketches are absolutely amazing and really help make the sitters look so real and so relatable.
The portraits at 225 and 400 are of Catherine of Aragon. Great video on Maud Green. It is nice to see information on some of the supporting characters. There Green family was a prominent one from the time of Edward III through the reign of Henry VIII. Thanks for doing the video.
This channel and your narration are fast becoming a. Firm favourite. I enjoy the scope of people you cover it isn’t just monarchs that make history. So thank you
very interesting history. You have one huge mistake. You identify one of the pictures as Catherine Parr at 2:27 when it is a portrait of a younger Katherine of Aragon.
Sneaking suspicion she wouldn't have approved of her daughter becoming Queen, if not alone for fear her daughter wouldn't survive the experience after 2 Queens loosing their heads, and over what really in truth, and the betrayal her friend Catherine the 1st consort endured.
I noticed you used all Catherine of Aragon's portraits as Catherine Parr... I've seen these portraits too much in other videos and therefore know that this cannot be correct
I just solved a more than one hundred years old genealogy mystery regard ing my Jones GGG grandfather. As I dig through the ancestors, I see that Lady Elizabeth Ann Parr, sister of Katherine, is my twelfth great grandmother.
I know about her but had read Maud Green what a pity she died so soon not only for her children but for little lady Mary Seymour her daughter Katherine s only child Had Maud been alive in 1548 she would have been 56 a still young grandmother and the loss of her eldest daughter would have been devastating so young at 36 but then she would have taken custody of her newborn granddaughter and little lady Mary would have had someone who really loved her her second mum w how sad it was no so May Maud her daughter and grandkid rest in peace they are now together forever
This is SO interesting!!! These people are so incestuous. Kat Parr's brother married the 1st Earl Essex's only daughter. The 1st Earl was Maud's brother.... Making them First Cousins! 🤨
The Field of the Cloth of Gold was in 1520. Catherine of Aragon accompanied Henry VIII and Queen Claude accompanied Francis I. Anne Boleyn was still in France and may have been there as a maid to Queen Claude.
Too many pictures of Katherine of Aragon shown as Karherine Parr.
Very nice to hear about lesser known people from that era. Thank you

Wonderful to hear the family history of a remarkable woman. Sounds like a solid family and i can see where Katherine Parrs good sense came from
Qq
I love your videos. No one else give us the stories of these people. I love it!
The portrait of the woman @2:25 is of a young Catherine of Aragon, not Catherine Parr
Correct
Is that painting at 0:25 of Catherine Parr, as labeled, or Katherine of Aragon? I've seen both claims. Wonderful video.
I always thought it was Catherine of Aragon. 🤔
I always thought it was Catharine of Aragon too
Must be Katherine of Aragon. She looks so much alike the other portraits of the first queen

She made a mistake...it's a portrait of a young Katherine of Aragon, not Catherine Parr @ 2:25
I love that you're delving into the amazing women who brought these future queens into the world!
Thank you for taking the time out to do these videos. Their distance relatives down the line highly appreciate it.🖤

Very interesting, thanks for all your work
I don’t think it could be said better “ she was a brilliant Tudor woman”. Thank you 👵👵👵🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Love, love your videos. Thank you,
Thank you for such a great informative video!
Tudor Fact: Not only was Queen Katherine Parr named after Queen Katherine of Aragon but Katherine of Aragon was named Katherine Parr’s godmother
Your videos are truly wonderful
Your picture of Catherine Parr is actually Catherine of Aragon
very interesting history. You have one huge mistake. You identify one of the pictures as Catherine Parr at 2:27 when it is a portrait of a younger Katherine of Aragon.
Two
I can you your brilliant videos are going to become a firm favourite for me
The portraits look like katherine of Aragon not catherine parr

It’s interesting that Queen Catherine Parr became known as a devout Protestant while her mother had stayed by Queen Katherine of Aragon’s side.
I noticed you used all Catherine of Aragon's portraits as Catherine Parr... I've seen these portraits too much in other videos and therefore know that this cannot be correct
Part was not the only queen who was lucky; Anne of Cleves aka Anna of Kleves.
I just solved a more than one hundred years old genealogy mystery regard
ing my Jones GGG grandfather. As I dig through the ancestors, I see that Lady Elizabeth Ann Parr, sister of Katherine, is my twelfth great grandmother.
Henry Viii would be the only person in the world whose last wife was named after his first wife.
Interesting. Now I understand why Henry ultimately chose a Parr woman despite her widow status and Henry’s preference for young virginal brides.
There is no portrait of Lady Maud Parr. Not sure why a few of the portraits of KoA are being used as Catherine.
Why have you added catgerine of aragon pic
Too many pictures off cathrine of aragon used as cathrine parr
This is SO interesting!!! These people are so incestuous. Kat Parr's brother married the 1st Earl Essex's only daughter. The 1st Earl was Maud's brother.... Making them First Cousins! 🤨
Love it. That little insult to the Boelyns at the end is well deserved
1:28 *gave birth to them. Birth is a noun, not a verb.
Birth can be a verb.
I don't believe Katherine of Aragon accompanied Henry to the Field of Gold. I believe Anne Boleyn did sl.
Anne did. You are quite right.

Katherine of Aragon accompanied Henry viii to the Field of Cloth of Gold.
