  • If you're looking to have better puck control your in the right place. Jason breaks down this world class goal by Connor McDavid and we show how this is an illustration of the Downhill Skating System, Precise Puck Control and Dangle by Design which are all lessons inside the Train 2.0+ Membership. These elements stack on top of each other to help players dominate the game and make plays like what you will see in the video today.
    What You'll Learn:
    Downhill Skating: Discover how McDavid's continuous crosses and shuffles force defenders to move laterally, creating opportunities for offensive plays.
    Precise Puck Control: Learn the importance of keeping the puck well in front of you to maintain balance and control at high speeds.
    Dangle by Design: Understand how to set up defenders, exploit stick momentum, and use the right mechanics to beat even the toughest opponents.
    We’ll start by analyzing McDavid's skating patterns, focusing on how he maintains lateral movement to keep defenders off balance. Then, we'll delve into the mechanics of precise puck control, highlighting the common mistakes players make and how to avoid them. Finally, we’ll put it all together with the dangle by design technique, demonstrating how to use a defender’s momentum against them to create scoring opportunities.

    So wait the reason why I was losing the puck when doing my strides and crossovers was because I had the puck to my side the whole time and should I only have my hands to the side when shooting ?

    Doesn't he use like a lie 4 or 5 for his stick? That would put the puck in that further out position? Right?

      @AdamOBrien-e4p is it rockered?

      @AdamOBrien-e4p I use a SYNC, Laine curve, with a 4" extension. I prefer longer sticks, and it allows me greater leverage for my shooting. But I have heard that a rockered lie 4 is what McDavid uses. It's how he can pull in the puck and get more contact from the blade for better shooting.
