That's why they are promising to help you close your boca. During the first rap she says a killer to protect you which is a contradiction pointing out the same thing. Randos in masks stalking and chasing them are the anonymous random strangers saying those negative comments over social media. One show has groups sing the song they're promoting but translated into different languages... they told Dreamcatcher their song was the hardest translation they've ever done.
Yes, Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the line "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome!
The Nightmare Series has a Victorian horror aesthetic where they are the ghosts (that's not a spoiler). Different from anything else in their industry, though other girl groups did dip their toes into dark/dangerous/scary concept with harder driving music in 2021 after DC has pioneered that genre. If you're looking for story lines, the group "aespa" is seting up an entire "cultural universe" that includes not just the music videos but also live action short films that give backstory about this fictional near-future world. Their debut music video is called "Black Mamba" and the short film associated with it is called "Ep1 Black Mamba" so a tad confusing, but such is life. They also have "Next Level" and "Savage" for "videos in the CU" and a ballad "Forever" that's out-of-universe also.

I think after Odd Eye you could check BEcause. It was a special album release and the MV is based on the movie US in which there are doppelgangers... killer doppelgangers. The song talks about the sadness of obsesive love... lyrics are very important.

One thing interesting about the MV is..although the timeline setting is from Past to Present and Future...the Rock music concept for each video actually the opposite...the Rock style in Scream is something new in K-Pop, it's kinda hybrid of EDM & Rock...meanwhile, BOCA focus on current style of Rock..and Odd Eye, focus more on traditional style of Rock...each song represent Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil & Hear No Evil...
all dreamcatcher songs are musically different \:D/ dreamcatcher lyrics and imagery can be abstract so I wouldn't worry about trying to catch everything right away. you did a good job of catching some of the metaphors, like the mask representing anonymous people online. just keep in mind they tend to use a lot of pop-culture to help convey the themes in their songs. for example if you watch game of thrones, many fans compared the weirwood trees as basically internet like. in scream you can see writing inside the walls of the tree and its roots are portals. you will see a more obvious connection in odd eye since the imagery used is less abstract and will realize the theme of the series is not narrow to verbal hate/bullying, but a criticism on the 'dystopian' ills of social media in general.

One of the girls, Handong, was absent during Scream and Boca (+ other few singles) due to covid restrictions but she was there in the Odd Eye mv and album. She has singing and dancing parts in every single song from everything she missed so they actually redid the choreo and recordings for live stages and concerts. Hmm outside of the nightmare arc, they have 2 releases BEcause and Deja Vu which don't have any parts and are stand-alone pieces. Although all the songs in Raid of Dreams do tie into Deja Vu because the complete album was a collab with a game. BEcause was a take on Us. They also have Rose Blue mv which was a special single collab with another game. Their japanese singles with MV's include Breaking out which is sort of a slightly happier ending to the nightmare arc, Endless Night is their only other Japanese original that has a live mv. Eclipse is an ost for an anime but has an mv for the full version.

Boca is the title song in the EP called "Dystopia: Lose Myself". Dreamcatcher point out in the trilogy that the technological marvels and social achievements were promising to lead us to a Utopia and a united world. But instead, because of the human failings, especially hatred and aggression, they lead us to a Dystopic future instead. We are lost somewhere on the way. This is portrayed with the two different styles, the light and the dark. They've even made a two-day concert, called Crossroads. Part 1 was Utopia (acoustic and chill out version of their songs) and Part 2, the second day, was called Dystopia (Bombastic Rock versions of their songs and b-sides). They hint us that we are at a crossroads. One road leads to Utopia, the other to a Dystopia. In reality, as they tell us later on in Odd Eye ("Dystopia: Road to Utopia" Mini Album - A reference to the loss of Utopia), what we're looking for, Utopia is inside each of us. And Utopia is love. Isn't this a cool message?

"Too many angel daying now" its breaking my heart
The one who fired the arrow is the same one who was shot by the arrow right after the lyric "Why do you fill your precious time on hate", showing that engaging in the hateful language will just get you hurt by it. That's why they are promising to help you close your boca. During the first rap she says a killer to protect you which is a contradiction pointing out the same thing. Randos in masks stalking and chasing them are the anonymous random strangers saying those negative comments over social media. One show has groups sing the song they're promoting but translated into different languages... they told Dreamcatcher their song was the hardest translation they've ever done.
Yes, Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the line "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome!
The Nightmare Series has a Victorian horror aesthetic where they are the ghosts (that's not a spoiler). Different from anything else in their industry, though other girl groups did dip their toes into dark/dangerous/scary concept with harder driving music in 2021 after DC has pioneered that genre. It is a long group of many title tracks from their debut on Friday 13 in 2017 up to 2019 (details at the end). The release order is not the chronology of the plot, there are prequels released in 2018. Some claim Piri is the last song, though there is a Japanese release Breaking Out on the album End of Nightmare where the last line is "Bye bye to this nightmare" so I call that the end of the Nightmare series; and it makes 7 songs for 7 members.
They have some stand-alone albums and m/v's. One very, VERY, VERY!!! popular one is Deja Vu. It's basically in the Dreamcatcher 101 course for reactors. They also have b-sides in a dozen non-rock genres, m/v's they made themselves backstage at music shows for very good b-sides that show a different side of them, covers that showcase their skills apart from being sexy vampires... Tons of content for years, if you want to see different facets before starting a long Nightmare series just ask and you'll get paragraphs (more than mine!) Okay Nightmare specifics:
Chase Me and Good Night are like a two-part 6-minute horror movie it's great. Piri is a general term for a flute or pipe. Totally agree, many people suggest that _Breaking Out_ is an *alternative* ending, I disagree. To me, it's the ending, Piri leaves us wanting for more as it suggests that the nightmare isn't over yet.

If you're looking for story lines, the group "aespa" is seting up an entire "cultural universe" that includes not just the music videos but also live action short films that give backstory about this fictional near-future world. Their debut music video is called "Black Mamba" and the short film associated with it is called "Ep1 Black Mamba" so a tad confusing, but such is life. They also have "Next Level" and "Savage" for "videos in the CU" and a ballad "Forever" that's out-of-universe also.

I think after Odd Eye you could check BEcause. It was a special album release and the MV is based on the movie US in which there are doppelgangers... killer doppelgangers. The song talks about the sadness of obsesive love... lyrics are very important.

One thing interesting about the MV is..although the timeline setting is from Past to Present and Future...the Rock music concept for each video actually the opposite...the Rock style in Scream is something new in K-Pop, it's kinda hybrid of EDM & Rock...meanwhile, BOCA focus on current style of Rock..and Odd Eye, focus more on traditional style of Rock...each song represent Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil & Hear No Evil...

dreamcatcher lyrics and imagery can be abstract so I wouldn't worry about trying to catch everything right away. you did a good job of catching some of the metaphors, like the mask representing anonymous people online. just keep in mind they tend to use a lot of pop-culture to help convey the themes in their songs. for example if you watch game of thrones, many fans compared the weirwood trees as basically internet like. in scream you can see writing inside the walls of the tree and its roots are portals. you will see a more obvious connection in odd eye since the imagery used is less abstract and will realize the theme of the series is not narrow to verbal hate/bullying, but a criticism on the 'dystopian' ills of social media in general.
There is also a K-zombie version of this song with the Kingdom make-up team if you were into Kingdom on Netflix.

One of the girls, Handong, was absent during Scream and Boca (+ other few singles) due to covid restrictions but she was there in the Odd Eye mv and album. She has singing and dancing parts in every single song from everything she missed so they actually redid the choreo and recordings for live stages and concerts.
Hmm outside of the nightmare arc, they have 2 releases BEcause and Deja Vu which don't have any parts and are stand-alone pieces. Although all the songs in Raid of Dreams do tie into Deja Vu because the complete album was a collab with a game. BEcause was a take on Us. They also have Rose Blue mv which was a special single collab with another game. Their japanese singles with MV's include Breaking out which is sort of a slightly happier ending to the nightmare arc, Endless Night is their only other Japanese original that has a live mv. Eclipse is an ost for an anime but has an mv for the full version.

Boca is the title song in the EP called "Dystopia: Lose Myself". Dreamcatcher point out in the trilogy that the technological marvels and social achievements were promising to lead us to a Utopia and a united world. But instead, because of the human failings, especially hatred and aggression, they lead us to a Dystopic future instead. We are lost somewhere on the way. This is portrayed with the two different styles, the light and the dark.
They've even made a two-day concert, called Crossroads. Part 1 was Utopia (acoustic and chill out version of their songs) and Part 2, the second day, was called Dystopia (Bombastic Rock versions of their songs and b-sides). They hint us that we are at a crossroads. One road leads to Utopia, the other to a Dystopia.
In reality, as they tell us later on in Odd Eye ("Dystopia: Road to Utopia" Mini Album - A reference to the loss of Utopia), what we're looking for, Utopia is inside each of us. And Utopia is love. Isn't this a cool message?

Note: Fly High was released after chase me and good night but it's a prequel story, so chronologically it does come first. The girls and the company also commented on the story plot multiple times, explaining the meanings of this or that during interviews and articles released at the time each MV dropped.
These four MVs are deeply connected and deliver a solid storyline, but there are three more MVs connected to the Nightmare Series, but they dont seem to be tied up with the story showcased in the first four. Even if some fans still try to come up with theories to solidify the Nightmare series as a whole, nothing have been said by the girls or the company that ties the stories together, unlike it happened with the first four MVs.
