2013, blood test for life insurance came back positive for Hepatitis C. Navy just started volunteer experimental testing. went in for 48 week trial. it was horrible. got a call at week 38, CDC said i was cured, the experiment was successful. yes, i bawled like a baby. thank you, nurse burdette.
You were probably the guinea pig for harvoni. that shit is amazing. one pill a day for 2-3 months and you're cured. Didn't it feel like your life had been given back? How long have you been clean for now? :)
I once found $425 in the grass by a Sherwin Williams, and a year later found $60 in a Subway's back hall to its restrooms.
Came home from teaching. My laptop was gone, and my roommate had left for the weekend, so I thought it was him.
As I am stewing on what I am going to do to him, I get a phone call. The person asked for my roommate. I said that the prick was gone.
And then he asked if was...(insert my name).
I said, 'Yeah'.
He said, 'I have your laptop.'
He was at the front door and told me that he broke in and stole it because the other roommate owed him money. He was just looking for his pay and did not want me to pay for it (he opened up my computer and saw my name).
Oh, and how much money was he owed?
$120.00.
OOH let me! I have several. Backstory I had a lousy childhood, fat, bullied etc. 2 breakdowns ... anyway then I came out. And one day when I was 27 I was in a disco I never went to (no money) and I met someone from America. Who was in town for ONLY one weekend. Odds were many noughts ... We lived together for 2 years and I learned how to live and look after myself.
Anyway, we broke up and years later I'm living where I currently live. Single. Finally given up on ever meeting someone. Go to the gym and this guy starts giving me really aggressive looks. I thought he wanted to thump me for being gay. As I was leaving, because I felt so free and calm, I smiled at him - and he gave me a great smile back. 30 years later we're married. My two best lucks.
Driving to work one day after an ice storm, I hit a patch of black ice on a side street, skidded into a cyclone fence, and got wedged in. The fence overlooked a twenty-foot ravine, and I was driving a PT Cruiser convertible at the time. If it weren't for that fence, I wouldn't be sitting here writing this.
So mine is rather different, yet I still consider it my luckiest moment. In 10th grade I had terrible headaches, mom figured I needed glasses but the optometrist said I had normal vision. Fast forward to a bunch of doctor’s appointments, including specialists and Inwas diagnosed with migraines. I was bullied horribly and the last thing I needed was to be made fun of for wearing glasses. It even made some of the bullies lay off, since I was now seen as too easy of a target by them.
Man, everyone's luckier than me. I used to think I was lucky to have found a whole $50 dollar bill on the way home from school one day. Do you know how much money $50 is to a kid? It's a lot! I bought Super Mario Brothers 3, the newest video game available at the time... and actually the _first_ video game I had ever gotten new. It was like a life changing even, man. I think I became obsessed with one of the characters or something, but that part of the story's a little foggy, it has been nearly 40 years, gimme a break.
>5 year old hits a Trifecta for uncle
I would've loved seeing that -- I would've been all "Way to go, little dude!"
Imagine being that one guy who ended up on the news for winning the lottery, that proceeded to win the lottery again on camera when they went to reenact it.
i wonder if the reaction was the same both times. lol
Mine was in a video game. I've had most of my luckiest moments in one game, Sols RNG. For example, not long after I popped my first and so far only heavenly 2 potion, I got Twilight : Iridescent Memory. Also, recently, when I was playing at my friend's house, we were in the corruption biome, and I randomly got a Hyper-Volt dupe. But my luckiest moment ever was in Circle Incremental when I got a 1 in 17,500,000 chance circle.
My fiance and I live in a busy NH town. She finds $20 bills on the ground at least twice a month while walking our dogs. I don't have such luck, lol.
I had best luck of my life in winning $200 in a Powerball/mega millions lottery and then the worst luck about 30 minutes later after I had put those winnings in a money clip with all my other money then had it fall out of my pocket and lost all of it.
Omg that first story is awesome
Does getting nine chicken tenders in an eight-piece pack at Culver's almost every time count ? I find that pretty lucky and I don't know if they do it on purpose
It absolutely does.
Where do I begin? Went to the casino? This is week one played keno I won 250 bucks off of $.25 came back the next week played some keyno got bored went to play a slot machine that my mom had played before a while back I won $700 so the next week I go to this other casino first time ever being there go to play keyno all the machines were malfunctioning so I go to another slot machine broke even then I went to quick hit slot I’m betting $1.50 get down to $20. I press spin. I hear a bunch of beeps then I looked up and then down at the Machine. I see eight quick hit symbols I hit a hand pay I won a total of $2037.11 had I hit one more quick hit symbol I would’ve hit $7000
Got some pretty beads, went to the local bakery, ended up getting a free donut. Then I went to the bus stop (usually I would have to wait a while for the bus. I arrived at the bus stop, then the bus came along.
Went to a clinic for a sinus infection. It was closed but the receptionist saw I was overdue for a bloodtest. Took bloodtest. PSA was high so my doctor referred me to a urologist and was given another bloodtest and PSAs were higher so ordered a biopsy. Biopsy was positive so had surgery,. Now I am cancer free.
A few months ago i was buying my cats some treats..tubs of catnip and dreamies.. i was very low on money but wanted to surprise my cats...7 of them...
As i paid on my card i dropped it while putting it away... upon reaching down for it..on the floor was £100 cash 😮
I tried finding whos it was over the weekend ..nothing so decided to keep it and i was a lot better mood for a change ❤😊😊😊
A couple years ago my husband went to the gas station and found a bank envelope with $180 in it, then about a week later we went to Krogers and I found what I thought was a cheap gold earing and ring that looked like it had been ran over a couple times, so I tossed it but my husband picked it back up and said it might be worth something, low and behold we took it to the jewelry store that bought gold and it was worth....$180 😏
Not entirely lucky, but it slipped and fell underneath my roommates truck, getting out yesterday. There was a slick of ice on my side and i landed on my wrist, and my shins hit the step, and holy hell did it hurt! So far so good, wrist is sore, ass is sore, and a nasty bruise on my shins. But no broken bones! Not even the bread in my hand got smooshed!! 😂 Later on, i went downtown to visit my friends and do tiedye and meet her new kitten! Win!! 😂
For me I won $300 on slots when playing at a casino for the first time, and won $100 on another slots. It was nice
I won $40 on a lottery ticket. Yay
Study well pupper
One time in college there was a drawing being held. You had to sit through a 30 minute lecture first then they drew for shirts, hats, bottles, etc, but the grand prize was getting your semester fees refunded. As the prizes were going i just had this unshakable confidence i was winning the grand prize and i did. That's usually how things go for me. Ive gambled twice in my life and they were both small jackpot wins.
>semester fees refunded
That's a double jackpot -- first with getting the fees refunded, then again as it reduces student loans.
I never get lucky like these.
That's some funny looking bacon.
