This is STILL working guys. I just downgraded another iPhone 4S... on a virtual machine running Windows 7! You just have to make sure that when doing the jailbreak, get the latest version of 3UTools, and when flashing, use the 2.56 version of 3UTools. That's how it works for me.

at 5:26 I've tried this literally about 500 times, but every time I toggle the Download iBSS switch the app crashes. I've tried having it plugged into a PC, mac, not plugged in at all, reinstall of the app, full restore and jailbreak again, I just can't get it to work.

A technique I used for anyone experiencing a problem with their iDevice disconnecting, (Possibly due to using a third-party cable) Whenever you hear your PC disconnect your iDevice reconnect it and it should continue the flash process. It may disconnect a couple times at first but keep repeating the process until you no longer hear the notifications on your PC and it should properly install iOS 6 from there
This will only work for iPhones that were manufactured before 2014. Since you can only downgrade to the oldest version the phone came with, any iPhone 4s produced after September 2013 cannot be sadly. It is a common issue since the 4s was in production until as late as 2016.

For everyone wondering, yes, this is untethered. The latest version as of right now (v3.08) didn’t work for me, so if the latest version doesn’t work for you, you can try version 2.56. Hopefully, this helps.

@@aylabogoni5903 I haven’t had the issue you have but I used version 2.56 of 3uTools instead of 2.57 and connected my phone to a USB 2.0 port just to make sure everything’s compatible.

@@dexu1313 if the device is not responding after failed to downgrade I would recommend to disconnect and reconnect the battery and boot up the phone and start from the beginning. Mine kept failing and finally worked after using an old version of 3utools and connecting to a USB 2.0 port on the PC.
Wonderful tutorial, here it only works up to the part that says "Writhing File System" after that, the process crashes, in the Windows device manager the iPhone appears with driver failure, even though they are all ok. Even the "Apple mobile device usb" driver appears with an error when it gets to this part of the process, can you help me?

i have a bad battery and whenever i reboot it, it just fails the jailbreak because it dies so then i have to put it back in a real socket and i cant jailbreak it.
WORKING AS OF 22-09-2021 But, disable antivirus, use 2.56 version of 3utools and use IE to download the IPSW, if it saves as a zip change the extention and you should be good to go!

Better to use a Mac or PC which has older USB 2.0 or 3. Rather than using USB-C to dongles. I have had always faced issues when downgrading older iOS devices with newer USB-C macs apart from the latest iOS version.

Good guide but i have a problem at 6:25. After "Loading iBSS comonent" the line "Reading random NONCE" fails in red and the flash fails. Not sure why. Any help anyone?
@@JJoy13 Yup, the only problem was whenever the device has to be connected to the PC. Initially this iPad had 8.4.1, but when I tried to downgrade it never worked as it showed that error. The KDFU app worked just fine as long as I press the toggles slowly and not quickly. So I thought maybe i had to be on ios 9, so I upgraded and tried to jailbreak only to see that my sideloadly app wouldnt work at all because it kept getting interrupted midway through sideloading phoenix jailbreak as my iPad just suddenly disappears from the PC, the cable was even untouched. So i just decided to buy and replace my 4 year old cable and voilà - pheonix jailbreak app installed successfully on first try with new cable, installed kdfu app, successfully went into kdfu and flashed ios 6.1.3 on the first try.

The final process always fails, does it matter if the cable is not the original by apple? It is like new, but not the original one. When I push the blu button “flash”, it starts, but after a few seconds, I always ear the sound of the USB disconnected and then riconnected, then the download stops. The downgrade went fine, but I cant acces my apple id / icloud, it says I must enter the code from other device, but no spaces appers to actually enter the code.
You need to put the code in the password. Basically lets say your icloud code is 123456 and your icloud password is balls. You woukd type in balls123456. Make sure the code is opened on ur modern phone.
Up to a point it worked very well! however, when making Flash it doesn't show the old Apple logo... and then Flash fails because the logo doesn't appear. Is there anything I can do?

@@plotrecap2 you can always find ipa files and sideload them after jailbreaking your device so you get the old versions of them

6.0, 6.0.1, 6.1 and 6.1.3 works as of 21-9-2022 as experimented, but no iOS 5 however once in iOS 6 you can upgrade To iOS 8.1.2 if you like.

As soon as i´m trying to Flash the new Firmware it just says "flash failed" without an error codes... using version 2.56 as recommended.
