    dude for YEARS I sought out info on my bow. THANK YOU. I was given the 3350 as a gift from an old friend or my fathers. It 2 was his as a teenager... Its old and awesome. I regret it still has the original string on it, but that will work. I will measure and post . You rock .

    Deer track “two little feather thing” . That made my day. Love your videos. I shoot exclusively self bows that I make, but You have made me want to get an old BP bow. Probably a colt. Like that style, not real crazy about big extravagant risers. Going to watch more of your videos to decide. Thanks for your videos.

    Thank you for posting this! I was given my Ben Pearson Super Jet as a kid ( model 3350) which from your video, I now know was in 1969 (I knew I was around 10 at the time). I still have it, and it has taught 4 generations to shoot. Glad to see someone else appreciates these things!

    Just won one on a ebay auction this evening. A reddish brown color. Also a 30 pounder. It's a 335 and the logo looks to be '63. A triangular arrowhead with the rounded elliptical fletching. Appears to have a good string even lol Most of these old things are getting a bit pricey, but got it for $20.50.

    Had a question after sharing this video about brace height for the Jet Bows.
    Here is the reply from Greg Richards:
    Steve Sawyer
    Had to go to the Ambassador Greg Richards for an answer to that one.
    Here is Greg's reply:
    "They never stated one in the catalogs. 6.5 to 7.5 is a good starting point".
    Thanks Greg.👍
    Greg has lots of time behind the Famous Ben Pearson Jet bows so I would go with his guidelines.

    Greg, I have been a follower of your for years and I am on a quest knowing you are a BP fan. I came across a BP fiberglass bow but I can't find any info on it (even e-bay). Looking at your catalog page in this old video it looks like a '63 vintage. The model # is 337 'StratoJet Target'. It measures 66" tip to tip, and it says it is 40#. I threw a string on it, and it seems to shoot really well, even with the string that seemed too short but it worked.

    Love your videos. Been following you for a while now since I've gotten back into archery. I recently got a BP Super Jet 20#@28. I noticed there appears to be a "split" showing on yours at 3:52 in the video. Mine has a similar one. Did this become a problem on your bow? Not sure if my 20#er is reasonably ok to shoot. any advice would be appreciated.

    I have been watching your RUclips videos and have subsequently purchased a Ben Pearson 3350 bow. I could use a little help if possible. Specifically the writing on the bow has the two feathers or dear tracks (whatever they are), ben pearson encased in a rectangular box, below that it has no 3350 60” 40#.
    Similar to my below illustration: The two feathers will be represented by several colons and on the bow it has Ben Pearson’s name inside the rectangular box which I can not reproduce in typing format.
    :::: ben pearson
    no 3350 60” 40#
    It appear through the pictures and the seller’s description that it is in almost new condition. So, I’d like to have a string and a few arrows ready for its arrival. So here’s my extremely novice questions.
    #1 What length and type of string do I need to buy? And possibly what brand/brands should I try?
    #2 I’ve heard you speak of arrow “spine” a lot but have no knowledge of what to look for or what type of arrows I should purchase. I went to our local Academy Sports this evening and they had everything from $1.99 wooden arrows (which I would be fine using except the label said they were only good up to 29lbs draw), up to $9.99 carbon fiber, with $6.99 aluminum in between. But, for target shooting in my back yard, I’d be fine using the cheapest appropriate arrows, at least when starting out. On the subject of “spine”. I’m assuming that it is referring to the stiffness or bend-ability of the arrow.
    #3 This particular recurve bow does not have a cut out shelf. It has the plastic type handle which works as a shelf on the top side. This will cause a good bit of arrow kick which I’m assuming is why certain “spine” arrows will be needed?
    #4 Any date of manufacture, or any other information you can give me on this bow would be appreciated. Thank you

    I just purchased a Ben Pearson to learn traditional its a 60" 45# 335 jet bow. Blonde coloring. I have learned from your videos it's pre '68. (Wow may be as old as me) is there any way to tell the exact year of manufacture? I've shot it once, and totally love the action. Nice and smooth. No finger or hand shock, excluding the piece of fletching I put through my finger from bad form. Heehee. But I would be grateful for any help you can give me. Thanks.

      As for the string. The length depends on if it is a long bow or recurve.

    Late to the party here haha. I have a question. I have two bows that I suspect are Ben Pearson super jets. I got them from one of my neighbors about 15 years ago and use to play with them all the time when I was a kid. They where completely unmarked when I got them, but I think it wore off. The grip is the exact same as a Ben Pearson but I noticed that where the bow meets the grip it is a lot more narrow than the ones you where showing. Do you think they are Ben Pearson Super Jets? Also do you think They would be safe for me to fully draw? (I'm a 5'4" female) I have been wary of them after growing up not really knowing the full specs.

    • @3DArchery
      @3DArchery  6 лет назад

      I would have to see a picture of them to give you a better answer. As for shootability, inspect the bow for cracks and separations. If you do not see any then you should be good to go. Mine is 50 years old and shoots great.

    • @guinevereskylark7318
      @guinevereskylark7318 6 лет назад

      After a ton of digging I think they are 3320's

  • @steelgila
    @steelgila 7 лет назад

    Okay my Super Jet must date from the 70s . The writing has worn off except for the logo but mine pulls a lot heavier than 30# and I'm sure I remember(when I could still read it, I've had it for probably upwards of 25 or so years now) that it was rated at 55# and if I recall it's harder to draw than my Bear 45# Grizzley. My Jet is 60" in length. Can you tell me what size string I need? The 53in. string I have on my other Ben Pearson bow, a green fiber glass bow of exactly the same length and shape(depth of recurve or reflex) produces a 9.5 in. brace height. Do you think that's too deep? I'm glad I found your channel and some one who has expert knowledge of the history and manufacture of these wonderful bows. I'll subscribe.

    • @3DArchery
      @3DArchery  7 лет назад

      Yours probably is a 335. I have two of those in 35 pounds. Brace height for that bow should be 7.5 to 8.5. I like mine at 7.5. Should you should look for a string a little longer than you have. Good Luck!

      Sorry for the delay, Wednesday is Archery League night. I measured my strings they are 57" long. Recurves usually take a 2 to 4" string that is shorter than the bow. They did make a take down that looks very similar. Seen a couple on Ebay, just couldn't convince myself to buy one.

      It is from the early 60's, Last listed in 1966. They are left and right handed, came in draw weights of 30,35,40,45,50 and 55 Pounds. The Catalog says they were for Teenage Boys and Men. Listed price of 15.50. They are listed at 66" and are usually are that length or close to it.

      Thomas Stroder Thomas, I would love to. I just bought a new computer and it will take me the weekend to transfer everything. Once that is done I will look up your bow. Off hand I can tell you it is a 1968 or later bow. Any bow made before 1968 had only three numbers for the model. In 68' they went to four. I love my 334 Long bow. It is such a sweet shooter.

      I will keep an eye out for one. At 60", I would think the bow should not stack at 28" draw. You have pointed that out as an issue on the shorter 333 bows.

      That is why I like it so much, it doesn't stack. Go Figure.

      They are no longer made. So the price varies. Use to be cheap. Now about forty five dollars

      You want a 57 or 58" string in Dacron. Copy and paste this link and it will take you to the page. Enjoy!

      +3D Archery Thank you! one more question, what length of arrows should i buy? or does it matter?

    • @3DArchery
      @3DArchery  8 лет назад

      Depends on how long your draw is. General rule, they should stick out about a half and inch in front of the bow at full draw. Mainly for safety reasons.
