David, you never cease to amaze me with the knowledge you have on things like these Topps Gold cards. I now look at them in a different light. Also, I absolutely love the movie clips you randomly insert, especially in this video, makes your video all the more entertaining! Thank you!
Oh awesome! I’m glad the videos have helped instead of hindered. I wasn’t sure if everyone else liked stuff like that. As far as the knowledge, thank you - but man, a lot of our commenters are so much more knowledgeable, which I’m grateful for. Keeps me on my toes! Thank you for watching and commenting, Stephen, you’ve been a great addition to the Happy Hobbyists on this channel!
Thanks man, I think it’s going to be a weird video, cuz I originally did ONE video for the whole thing, but it was way too long, so i split the two videos up. We’ll see how it turns out! Haha
Awesome video David, great to combine collecting with some history. I've got a series I'm putting together that's walking through 90s card history as well, great synergy!
Awesome video. Thanks for the history lesson. After listening to Sports card radio and sports card investor all week was nice to hear so good content instead of drama. #HappyHobby
Oh thanks! Yeah, I try not to be too negative on this channel, mostly because it’s a fun hobby and we’re not spending thousands of dollars a month on it. If you are, then the negative news is more necessary probably because now it’s investment news. Anyway, thank you for watching and commenting!
I totally forgot about this video. I have been collecting Gold Parallels for the past couple months. I call the box I put them in my “Treasure Chest” lol
The old screw down big thick cases are still cool. 😎 They're now for rebels! 😄 I've got a Topps Gold Ohtani in a big screw down, 1" thick case. It makes the card look even better! 😇
Thanks for the history lesson amigo! Interesting how Topps finally started countering the junk wax era with limited edition cards.
Thanks, man, much appreciated! Yeah, someone started thinking during that era. They saw the writing on the wall!

One in the same! Haha
I really love this idea! Can’t wait to see your golden picks ups and your picks! Thanks, David!

Oh awesome! I will make sure to check it out!
As a Pirates fan I love the gold cards. Easy way to get a non-base rookie and a perfect color match for us all at a reasonable price.
Oh man, great call! That’s like Jets fans buying old green labeled CSG slabs of their Jets players! Smart!
Great insights
Hey Hey! Great video Gonos! Time to look in my old collection for those gold cards back in the early 90s!
There you go - I wish I had some from the early 2010s - a Trout gold? Mookie gold? Oooohhhh, a Goldy gold!
Awesome video. Thanks for the history lesson. After listening to Sports card radio and sports card investor all week was nice to hear so good content instead of drama. #HappyHobby

That makes sense! Haha I’ll look to see if I have any good O’s gold cards.
@@DavidGonos if you find any, hold them for me. I am not buying any cards until the New Year lol
Brien Taylor and Kevin Maas, hyped 90s Yankee busts lol
Haha yep, definitely
I got that Brian Taylor gold autograph it's been sitting in my parents house and one of those old screw down big thick cases lol
No way, haha, that’s pretty awesome man. Taylor and Todd Van Poppel - big deals in early ‘90s!
The old screw down big thick cases are still cool. 😎
They're now for rebels! 😄

Thanks teach lol happy hobby, i found some of those old black gold cards i gotta check out
I’ve been acquiring Topps Tiffany ( year doesn’t matter to me) and Desert Shield cards when I find them. Just because!
Very cool! I need to get me some of those!
Great story on the Topps Gold series. Did they do a Gold Series in football cards as well?
Good question! From what I read, they did it in all four sports, but I don’t know about the numbered versions in the 2000s.
Nice video thanks for sharing go phillies
Oh how you were itching to use movie clips lol .
You’re not kidding - I’ve looked into it three or four times, but it was arduous. I finally found a quick way to do it.
@@DavidGonos nice man. It adds that little touch 👌
